Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Stuff from the new roll-out are loaded in the site...all you do is search it..same way like what we did last roll-out. Category-shoes, tops, Shirt...

Web site via iPhone still acting at times. So beware.

    1. I typed in pre order and saw no women's shoes. Nothing too exciting for me. (I always say that and yet, I always find something.)

    2. Search doesn't seem to be working for me. Not seeing anything new.
Site is acting poorly on my laptop, too.

    3. Thanks for the tip. I wanted to check out the ruffle sleeve top and the eyelet sweater.

    6. Those berry flats are the cutest shoes. Search on 'berry" and all of the berry print items come up. The skirt and Tippi are darling!

  2. For Canadian JCAs - stopped by yesterday and found the new Garments For Good collaboration inshore. Crew has partnered with the Royal Ontario Museum and produced some very cute items with gorgeous drawings of blue whales by Somsack himself. Crewcuts, men's, a tote bag, a scarf/bandanna and a striped breton-style tee that I'm wearing today @poettodesign Half the purchase price goes to the ROM's Blue Whale Project, a conservancy effort. Not sure whether these will be available south of the border, but supposed to be widely available across Canada. http://www.canadianliving.com/style/fashion/article/j-crew-and-the-rom-partner-up-to-save-the-whales

    1. I would totally purchase this full price if it comes to the states! What a good cause! Also, whales, stripes, what's not to love?! I went to my store yesterday and saw the cute tote (didn't realize it might have been part of the collaboration.) I was doing a quick stop-by, wanted to return an item that didn't fit and I'm trying to slow down my shopping so didn't linger too long. Will keep an eye out for this top though!

I must confess that I did buy the Petite petal earrings (Item G3648) in Navy -- i recently lost a beloved earring so I'm trying to console myself.

Must ALSO admit that I also bought the Soft petal-drop earrings (Item G6330) - I first saw them on Ema (crazyaboutcrew on IG) and I was struck by how chic and elegant they looked. These will look particularly great in the summer, I think. Can't wait to wear them!!

    2. Poettodesign, nice shirt and a great cause! Everything always looks so good on you! I saw the shirt in a store here in the US and I'm pretty sure Ina modeled it recently on her IG.

    3. I just looked on the US site and part of the proceeds here go to the Wildlife Conservation Society.

    4. @Lauren, you have a great memory, you're absolutely right! Ina has been modeling so much lately that I forgot about this one from a few weeks ago. I just noticed that it has drop shoulders though (*sobs) -- they usually don't work on me as I have broad shoulders and make me look wider, wah!! Will check it out next time I'm in stores nonetheless. (Poettodesign makes everything so good!)

    5. Lauren, TM93 - gosh I'm blushing! You are too sweet.
I don't find the drop shoulder too exaggerated so maybe it will work well for you. I am generally a S or M in Crew tops and I took an S in this one to reduce the boxy factor. No problem with length, I am 5'7" and it is perfect. I don't know how I missed it on Ina, now I need to go have a peek! If the striped shirt doesn't work for you, the navy men's tee looks really nice too, I am tempted to get that one as well for myself (my navy addiction continues). Hooray for whales and good eco-causes.

    6. @cagliari67, i share your navy (blues!) addiction as well so I will be sure to check out the mens' tee, as I think this is such a nice cause. Thanks for the tip! I will also try sizing down in the stripe tee and see if that works. :-)

      Delete
    7. TM93, I did go back and try the men's tee - it was just perfect in the S, the whale design is much bolder against the plain navy ground. A perfect alternative for anyone who prefers a shorter sleeve or is not a boatneck fan. I would say 'or who doesn't like stripes' but we know that's no one ever ;)

    8. I've never tried the kids clothing. There's a kids version of the whale shirt. Kids are shaped differently from adults so I'd be curious as to whether petite JCAs have had any luck with the kids clothes.

    9. Toronto Modern, I wear a 4 or 27 in bottoms at J. Crew, and I'm (in)famous for shopping the boys' sections in the stores. I wear a 14 or 16 in their tops, and have really enjoyed my purchases. (I wear a S or M in women's tops, btw.)

  3. I ordered with the SHOPTOIT promo the Puckered Gingham Blazer and the matching Cigarette pants. I hope both will fit; P4 in the blazer and pants in size 0 and 2 to try. Petite sizing is selling fast, same goes for the pants.

I plan on copying the outfit from the new style guide. I saw the blazer at the store yesterday, and I like the puckered feel, and lightweight of the fabric.

  4. I received an email yesterday: 30% off in store only March 10-12. There are exclusions though.
Was just at my store and honestly I'm waiting for the new arrivals instead.

On another note my store had no % off sale on Thursday, which seemed odd since the website was 30% off.

  5. My store has extra 30 off sale and regular today plus you can stack student discount on both...Seriously considering those blue colored jeans....I will stop by the store tonight

  6. Just ordered the gold flats with black embroidery. They had a pop back in size 8. Am usually a 7.5 in Gemma's so hoping these fit as the look beautiful!

  8. Sadly I have a whole bunch of returns.
I tried three sizes of each the Rayner chino and the broken in boyfriend chino. Didn't like the Rayner, the broken in BF sized up was the look I wanted but the British khaki color is too close to my skin tone. I wish I grabbed these in a fatigue color and I will keep my eyes open. I have no idea how people say they run big. Yes, they fit me in my smaller size but that's not how they should look, at least IMO. they should be a little slouchy. (I like them a lot slouchy.)

Sadie ankle strap flats in zebra calf hair are great, I love everything except the ankle strap. I wish they were just the Sadie flat. The pattern, color and fit run big, exactly like my other sadies with the cherry print.

Suede lace up flats in Sandy brown. I absolutely love them but the color is my skin color so it's a little hard to style them. I'm tempted to try the cabana blue but I don't have anything else that color, so they'd be that pop of color with denim and a white shirt, etc.

  9. I stopped by because I tried the ship to store service and it worked great! My package arrived in store in two days. I didn't reach the minimum for free shipping for a few gifts and I thought I would see how it worked.

The store was 30% off "most" items and the sale section was no extra %. Same languishing stuff hanging sadly. I don't understand that strategy at all.

    1. That's a great option. I didn't see that with any of my recentorders so I'm guessing it's not available in my store.

    2. Suz Has, I was given the option during my order. Gave me a good excuse to go see the new arrivals!

    3. @suzhas The option to ship to a store is a pilot right now and only available in Atlanta and Chicago. HTH

    5. I see the offer to ship to store in my mock online checkout and I live in OR.

    6. Interestingly it offers it for 2/3 local stores and the 2 that are further from me, one of them is the larger store with Crewcuts, but the other is much much smaller than my usual location.

OMG...I wish I was 6years old. the liberty prints and sandals for the girls are so cute. We older gals...get the boring ones.

  11. Went in to do some returns, nothing of interest for me right now. I liked the first spring roll out the best and find what's currently out a bit boring. Also not into the berry, leopard or elephant prints coming in the next roll out. I don't need anything right now though so its fine.

  12. Popped into the store to return my sweater skirt with the stain on it. Picked up a few tshirts for my oldest daughter for her birthday since it was 30% off the whole store. I browsed for myself but didn't buy anything.

I can also report back on the factory ruffle sleeve shirt. The striped versions are an ok length. I'm wearing the black stripe tonight with my lace pants and it's barely long enough. The solid versions though? They are definitely crop tops. Now, they actually work for the intended use - with all my lovely midi skirts. They look great with the polka dot, stripe and all the clip dot skirts. So I'll be keeping mine but beware that they are super short. Don't even touch the waistband of my jeans. I am 5'10 though.

    1. @liztriden. What size in the skirt are you looking for? We have a large in store

    2. Oh thanks so much Ina! Not my size and the sweater is far too short so I don't think the skirt will work anyways.

  15. I'm hoping people can share their thoughts/opinions on the Super 120s vs stretch wool women's suiting. I'm in the market for a new suit for work and have been waffling between the super 120s and the stretch wool in the Campbell blazer and pants. Unfortunately, I don't live near a store so I can't feel the fabrics in person. I would love to hear if anyone has experience in the suiting and whether they prefer one over the other. I work as a lawyer so I need something conservative (either the navy or black). Thanks so much!

    1. I wish I could help -- I know others have chimed in in the past about Super 120s woll -- it seems to be a popular, quality fabric. I only have one pencil skirt in this fabric and I like it, but don't wear it that often (only b/c I have a lot of clothes.) It's fairly thin and doesn't wrinkle easily, IIRC. I do have a few pairs of Campbell pants -- the ones I have have the zippered pockets -- I love the silhouette on these. The material seems a little 'thicker' in the wool version (VS the cotton Campbell trousers.) Have you tried the Campbell cut for the blazer in person yet? Asking only b/c I had such a hard time finding a good fit (tried Regular in 2 sizes, Petite in 2 sizes, etc. None really worked for me.) Anyways, I hope others are able to chime in with helpful tips as well. I love online shopping, but issues like this make it a bit tricky sometimes. Good luck!

    2. @mem87, I love the super 120 stretch wool but didn't like the Campbell silhouette. I love the trousers cut and own multiple colors. The fabric is wonderful and forgiving. Good luck!

    3. I bought 2 pair of Campbell pants with 120 wool, in early 2016, I think, during a clearance sale. I absolutely love mine, boot cut, long length, and the thin fabric. I know in the review, people don't like it because it is not lined, but I don't find it as a problem. They still look new which I thought it's amazing.

    4. I'm an attorney. I love the super 120, but have not purchased it since 2012, so I don't know how recent quality is. 2012 quality is excellent. I have the navy pinstripe in two deessss (sheath and v neck), a jacket, a pencil skirt, and two pants (cropped and full length). It's definitely a four season fabric and has a nice drape to it. It does not wrinkle.

    5. Thank you so much everyone - I really appreciate the feedback. I think I'm going to take the plunge on the navy suiting blazer, skirt, and trousers. I am a true hourglass so hopefully the blazer doesn't add too much volume at the hips - it looks like it "wings out" quite a bit in how its cut. It might have to be a bit of trial and error!! Thanks again for all of your help!

  16. I stopped in but no new arrivals are on the floor yet.

  17. Styling question: would you ever wear lace pants (black) with a cream lace top? I can't decide if it's overload or chic.

    1. If the lace styles are similar or compatible, I think it's totally chic!

  18. The quality of the 120s was much better several years ago. It's a shame really how they have reduced the quality of every category I loved:suits , sweaters, bags, coats, etc.
