This is the weekly "Looking to VENT with J.Crew" post, a place to share our not-so-stellar experiences with J.Crew.
If
you have recently experienced a
frustrating situation with J.Crew, maybe
you might be willing to share that
information with us in this post.
Please
feel free to share your story on almost
any topic— including poor experiences with
purchases & orders, promotions/ offers,
in-store visits, transactions with store
associates, etc.
The order I placed 4 days ago is still in "released" status. One item was already canceled from it. I have a feeling something else is going to get canceled, because it ought to have shipped by now. It's only 3 items. I'm getting annoyed that the remaining 2 items haven't shipped, come on J. Crew.
ReplyDeleteMy orders are same, one since Saturday.
ReplyDeleteNow I don't even remember what I ordered.
Sale is back down to add'l 30% off, but there are many new items, and lots of the same old ones.
If I could view the sale items and be able to actually scroll through them maybe I would buy something!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is at least day three for me with the same problem! Images won't load, or else the screen jumps so when I think I'm clicking on something, it's really something I've already scrolled past. Very frustrating. Plus, with the %-off jumps (now down to 30% after just being 40), I quickly gave up. Strangely, when I wanted to look through new items, the loading and screen movement worked just fine!!
DeleteBee- I tried a different browser and it seemed to work better. Still not placing an order right now. The ornate floral skirt and sweater went on sale but not the silk top which is the piece I want.
DeleteThere are cute summer items from recent roll outs now on sale. Michael De Feo tees made it to sale & for < $18, give them a try if you're interested. I ❤️ 'em. Ordered palm print loafers since they made it to sale. Hope they work since they'll work great for spring and summer. Also ordered navy tulle hem cardigan yesterday from a store (limited sizing online, but stores have stock) & stripe tulle shirt which is also on sale.
ReplyDelete@mygoddy glad you grabbed the tulle cardigan! Can't wait to see you style it.
DeleteMy vent... Website is painfully slow on my laptop (mobile seems better) and I've placed several orders in the last week, every item shipped separately. Five packages arriving tomorrow. Awesome.
@Anne, i swear, shipping is going to be the death of this company (OK, maybe not, but it can't be helping them, that's for sure!) I ordered a pair of pants and two pairs of socks for my husband and if you guessed that everything shipped separately, then well, you're probably a long-time JC shopper! The socks were on sale ($6.99 ea.) and probably cost as much to ship! (OK, I'm sure JC gets a discount for bulk shipping, but still! Pretty nuts.
Delete@Anne, you looked so cute in it yesterday, so I decided to give it a try. Rynetta was also rocking it too.😍
DeleteThe Copywriter from Space is back! the striped long-sleeved off-the-shoulder top G2549 is not workwear. Unless one's work includes pounding tequila shots. Oh, Copywriter from Space, you thought I'd forgotten you! no, I was trying to shop mindfully, and what came to mind was a dark noisy bar decorated with plastic palm trees.
ReplyDeleteNARVAR
the Collection Calf Hair Loafers E0775 have been out of stock for over a year. Stop apologizing, J.Crew, call in the Intergalactic ghost hunters, and clean up the website. If they pop back, they'll pop back. so far, they haven't.

slooow shipping times
If the Price Adjustment Grace Period is measured from the time a label is printed rather than from the time the item actually leaves J.Crew and is therefor in fact shipped -- which can be as long as 4 days later - why not say so?
what are my purchases really up to when they are reported to be spending 4 days in Swedesboro, New Jersey, to get from the UPS depot to the post office?I've looked it up, it seems to be a cute little town, but does my sweater need to dawdle there for 4 days?
LOL! I love it :) Thanks for making my morning
DeleteYes, thank you for the laugh! Love your thoughts as always. :)
DeleteCopywriter from space indeed, I just had to look up the top when you mentioned it and saw this gem "Off-the-shoulder isn't going anywhere anytime soon, and this is our latest (cold-weather-ready!) take." Yes, ladies, you'll be more than ready for cold weather with your shoulders bare! Maybe they have some cold-weather-ready shorts as well?
DeleteI would wear every off the shoulder top, including the Ellie May gingham bikini version, to work if I could pound tequila shots all day, really and truly.
ReplyDeleteWell, yes, me too
DeleteThanks for that, TeriLynn - I really needed a laugh this morning. Give me my 23-year-old body and accompanying confidence and I'll join you for the tequila shots!
DeleteI don't know, that sounds like too much strapless bra wearing for me, even with all the tequila! ;)
DeleteI have a job that necessitates tequila, but does not allow off the shoulder tops. Clearly copywriter from space does not understand the working woman.
DeleteI really, really need an adult beverage today but unfortunately booze is off limits as I'm having surgery tomorrow.
Delete@shopalot I hope you have a quick recovery! You'll be in my thoughts tomorrow.
Delete@Anthro Blogger - thank you so much!
Delete@shopalot, sending good wishes as well!
Delete@shopalot Sending good vibes your way!
Delete@shopalot, best wishes tomorrow!
DeleteBest wishes for tomorrow @shopalot!
Delete@shopalot, holding good thoughts for you!
Deletebest of luck from me too, shopalot!
DeleteWishing you a speedy recovery, shopalot!
DeleteThank you so much, everyone - your well wishes mean so much to me!
DeleteSale promos...one day. two days. 20% 30% 40%....now back to 30%.
ReplyDeleteI really really dislike this. it makes me just not look anymore. \
Just order what you like and then ask for price adjustments if the discount goes up. I have had no problem getting PAs this past week.
DeleteBORDERFREE. do not even get shipping confirmations anymore. Just arrives whenever..10-14 days up here in Canada. coming by dogsled I guess.
ReplyDeleteAct fast size 4 ladies! There has been an extreme popback of the collection ostrich feather skirt! It gives you a full 16.5" of butt coverage in multicolor ostrich feathers! Marked down to 299.99-30% right now. :)
ReplyDeletei have notified the Audubon Society. They're uniforms could use silk me spiffing up.
Delete@WFF, bwahahaha!
Deletenow i have to notify autocorrect- that should have read "Their uniforms could use some spiffing up."
DeleteI put the feather skirt in my cart just for fun. Someone bought it because it is now out of stock.
Deletecoming soon to a Thanksgiving pageant near you....
DeleteIn my last order, I had the Martie wool pants in size 4T and 6, the Maddie pants in size 2, and the coral off-shoulder cover up dress in size XXS. All fit!! This sizing inconsistency is crazy.
ReplyDeleteIf you're a size 6 and want to play the Crew-lette (Crew roulette) there is a wool Icon trench from 2014 for $149 -30% off. I wonder where it's been all these years.
ReplyDeleteWe are still being warned not to "freak out" about the "Freak Out Prices" in the new style guide. I don't think anyone is freaking out.
ReplyDeleteNot a vent but rather a heads up - the merino wool blazer is now in the sale section at $99 with 30% off. I just emailed my VPS to see if I could get a price adjustment since it's within the 7 day period.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the heads-up! I just called CS and got $43 back.
DeleteYay!! So glad @Caille!
DeleteWAPO article today on Anthropology also not performing well.
ReplyDeleteFirst paragraph describes similar situation that J.Crew is in..
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/business/wp/2017/03/08/the-harsh-reality-for-anthropologie-its-still-selling-the-wrong-clothes/?tid=sm_fb&utm_term=.5100d64ba673
I was never a big Anthro shopper because I'm not into the vintage vibe, but I used to occasionally find a dress or two there that I liked. Lately it's too much effort to even shop the store. I know they are going for a quirky museum vibe but it's just too impractical for shopping. I want to go in, visually scan the store, and know which direction to go for the items I'm in search in. Last time I was in they had skirt, tops, all mixed in with tableware and candles; I was not in the mood to scour the entire store for dresses so I left. I feel that this is something JC does well--all the items clearly and neatly laid out in sections so you know where to look for what you want.
DeleteSince I made a comment about the site's slowness in the wrong post the other day, I will post a positive post in this section today...it seems that the site is up and running full speed (maybe even a little extra) this evening. Not sure if anyone else commented but I needed to make sure to give kudos where kudos was due! Perhaps we will get back up to 40% off to get rid of some of the old stuff but at least I can see whatever is on the site without sitting for hours just to load one item.
