This is the weekly "Other JCrew-like Retailers" post (similar to the "Off On A Tangent"
posts), where we can share our finds from other
retailers that have offerings similar to J.Crew
(like Anthropologie, LE Canvas, Gap, BR, Talbots, Ann
Taylor, and the like.)
If you
have recently encountered items that are similar to
J.Crew, maybe you might be
willing to share that information with us
in this post.
Please feel
free to share your story on almost any topic—
including experiences with certain merchandise pieces,
promotions/ offers, in-store visits,
transactions with store associates, etc.
Hi everyone! I have a review of Marc by Marc Jacobs on my blog here. Hope it helps!
ReplyDeleteIf you live near a COS store, you'll know they rarely have sales - but right now most of the f/w collection is 30-50% off in store. Some very good deals.
ReplyDeleteAny item recommendations? I like their clothes, but don't live near a store. Their sizing/quality is difficult to judge from online shots sometimes. Thnx!
DeleteI usually buy their knits and blouses, generally taking my usual sizes or one size down. The cuts tend to be loose and flowy, though I find the a-line cuts can be a problem on a larger bust as things can get a bit tent like! If you are on the smaller side I would recommend sizing down. Fabrics and quality seem to be good overall, I have never had a problem. Coats are well-cut and of good wool. If you like their overall aesthetic, give it a try!
DeleteNot necessarily Jcrew-like but I have picked up some great items on sale from Nordstrom online lately. Several sweaters, as Jcrew sweaters have been a disappointment to me this season. A few of them are true tunic sweaters as well. Jcrew's have all been too short lately. I have scored a few really nice blouses too from Nordstrom - great fit, colors, patterns.
ReplyDeleteAnn Taylor has also been getting some of what would have been Jcrew dollars. I don't normally shop there, but, I had admired a few things on others recently and people kept saying "it's actually from Ann Taylor." Sometimes I don't find their quality fabulous, but there are some nice feminine looks this season...and not a plaid shirt, buffalo check or excursion vest (already have 3 from past years) in sight. These stores are really filling in for areas where I feel Jcrew missed the boat this fall/winter.
It's not just J Crew that ships your order in multiple packages. I placed two separate orders with the Gap over the weekend and always get free shipping with my Gap Silver card. So many different shipment notifications coming in, including one shipment containing ONE pair of clearance socks and another shipment with ONE pair of panties. Seriously. How can that be cost effective for the company?
