  1. Big LOVE for Madewell who debuted their Spring / Summer 2016 collection yesterday.

New designer, Joyce Lee, worked under Somsack.
I like a lot of the stuff Joyce designed.

Makes me want to go on a vacation somewhere warm just so I can wear these pretty pieces...

    1. Thanks for sharing, JSR! There are some cute pieces in there (love the white dress and embroidered peasant top), but those cropped wide legs I just cannot do... they make me look so stumpy!

    2. I'm loving the red and white embroidered top as well... the white dress... the stripe shirt, jeans, robe jacket thing...

I'd order all this pieces right now if they were available. Nicely done, madewell!

    4. Definitely lots to love in the collection. Joyce Lee is a fan of 70's fashion, and you can see that influence in her designs. Count me in on the white dress, and I also like the embroidered pieces, denim, and cropped wide legs, too.

    5. @JSR you were asking in another thread when the next big rollout from the crew is and it will be monday the 9th in november.
So plenty of time before Thanksgiving:)

  2. I agree with you on the red and white embroidered top AND the wide legs. I cannot stand that silhouette. It barely looks good on the super tall, super slim models. Go away wide leg cropped pants!

There's definitely some cute things in that collection, though. I generally like the Madewell "look," even if it's a little too boring from time to time. Like J.Crew, if you dig around there's some real standout pieces.

    1. I have to agree with you, Blakemdjohns, about the wide leg pants and culottes -- I can't pull that silhouette on my 4'11" frame w/ athletic legs (i don't even like capri pants!)

  3. Love the calf hair sloan d'orsay!!!!! Wearing them today and they just make me happy! So comfortable! However, I am sad because I am also wearing a schoolboy blazer and it makes me miss them so bad. I have only bought one regent blazer compared to umpteen schoolboys. It's just not the same.

  4. Went to the mothership to return the Leopard Tippi I ordered. They're slowly bringing out the holiday stuff. Pajamas and cashmere beanies and scarves...

Then I went to Madewell to see what's new. It made me smile when I saw on display, an ivory colored fur coat. Swoon...so soft and pretty. Certainly not my style, but I would love to see photos of a JCA try it on!

    1. Went also because I'd placed the shiny puffer vest in regal blue on hold. Wanted to try it on & see in person before buying since it was final sale. I really like the vest; it was tts for me & the blue was really cute. Like how it's styled on the website. Picked up the shiny downtown field puffer jacket in rustic grey too. Bought both for about $70. The reviews are really good on both & not really sure why there are still full size runs in almost every color. Also, picked up some Christmas gifts; stretchy headbands for $3 and No. 57 perfume for <$5. Will work nicely as stocking stuffers.

    2. I saw that Madewell coat, totally over the top and not my style, but someone will look awesome in it. Now I wish I'd tried it on just for fun. I tried on the Shiny Downtown Field Puffer jacket. I almost bought it, but it was a little thinner than I wanted (for what I'd use it for) and it was a little bit stiff, but I think that would work itself out after a couple of wears. It's a really cute style.
