Surprise! J.Crew Sends Their Love

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Blakemdjohns (in this post), who shared the following delightful surprise/ news with us:
...I received a "Thank You" gift from J. Crew of two Grafika notebooks. The note says they asked the company to produce them in these colors and patterns just for our Cardmembers. ...
Also "thanks!" to Suzy (in this post), who also shared:
I received the notebook gifts today, but also included is a $50.00 donation gift card where you can log on and select a charity to donate it to. Did you all see that? or get that? It's written on a card enclosed with the notebooks. Don't throw it out!
This is not the first time J.Crew has delivered Holiday presents to lucky JCAs. Last year J.Crew sent out notebooks. The two years before last, they sent a planner

So how do some customers get these gifts? I believe it has to do with your spending level over the year. Don't feel too bummed out if you did not get one. (I never do. Except for that one time.)

Lastly, this is wonderful gesture for loyal customers! It is a great gift and more importantly, a touching offer for those who receive it. :)

So check your mailbox in the next few days to see if you got something extra special from J.Crew. :)

  1. but i am bummed. i never get this stuff... and, trust me, i spend PLENTY at both retail and factory stores.

if a package isn't waiting for me when i get home today, i'm asking CS what the deal is.

i know... i sound a little whiney, but seriously, it should be for everyone who has a card... not just a select few. maybe tier the gifts based on your spending habits... like notebooks if you spend X but a gift card if you spend even more...

    1. Wouldn't hurt to call. I got overlooked for the necklace one year. I was supposed to get one. The following year I called and did not qualify. Fine with me. Always good to double check.

    2. Miss JR, I totally get it. Especially if you spent a lot. Maybe you got overlooked like Genny suggested. Definitely worth a call. :)

  2. I got my gift yesterday - nice surprise. I don't think that everyone who has a card should get the gift. I do hope that J Crew just sets a base amount and those cardholders who spend it get the gift - that just seems the most fair to me.

    Me too!

  4. It would be a nice perk for all cardholders to get. Why not? There are not many perks to having one.

  5. I received the notebooks today and am not a cardholder, but spend A LOT at retail and factory stores every year (between myself, husband, and kids). It's the first time in my 20+ years of shopping at the Crew. No note or anything in the box, just the notebooks. They are cute!

  6. What is the base amount one has to spend?? I use my card all the time and have more J.Crew than anyone I know. I'm not jealous but I don't like the favoritism.

  7. No notebook for me…not sure if they are even sent to Canadians? Really I should get a gift from UPS! I did however get a $50 gift card from Tory Burch! That was a nice surprise.

  11. I've given up on hoping I'll get one. I don't feel slighted anymore, knowing the rhyme/reason is inconsistent. I do think the stores should be given a number of them to ensure that their faithful customers receive the appreciation.

  12. My notebooks arrived yesterday (causing me to rack my brain as I looked at the package wondering what I had ordered and forgot about)! Not a card holder but have dropped some coin at the Crew this year. Nice touch.

  13. I received the gift last year, but not this year. Thanks to Mint, I was able to compare my spending, and I spent twice as much last year (yikes!). I don't know if it was the cut off, but I'm embarrassed to say that was $10k! So while I think I still spent a lot this year ($5k), J.Crew is rewarding their top, top spenders. And I'll be spending a lot less next year.

  14. I wonder if this is only for US/Canadian customers or if it includes international customers too... It would be a shame if they overlooked their international shoppers especially since they mark-up their prices.

  15. Too funny aGaGaaH...I was thinking the same thing when I came home to the JCrew package yesterday. Honestly, I don't get how they determine who gets these things. I'm a long time JCrew card holder but I don't think I spent as much this year as I did other years (in '07 I spent a small fortune on wedding attire)...It might have looked like I ordered a lot but I returned a TON. This is the first gift I have ever received and not to look a gift horse...but imo these notebooks aren't all that! Both are very masculine...geometric prints, one is black/beige and the other is blue...not the type of prints I would associate w/ JCrew. I don't really know what to do with them in this age of smart phones...I don't really know anyone who uses notebooks. Honestly if they were going to do something I would have preferred the screen wipes that come in pretty packages, or maybe some coasters or something. Anyway that is my 2 cents.

  16. I received the gift too, but the prints are kind of ugly- not that I am ungrateful, I have already started using one.

  17. No gift for me, although I do spend much more money with J.Crew than I do Tory Burch--Tory Burch sent me a $100 gift card as a holiday treat...Thank you, Tory! Such a wonderful surprise! :)

  18. I have not received this year's gift in the mail, but I have gotten the gifts each year for the past several years though. I have always thought it was just random as to who gets a gift or not, but if it is truly based on spending then I doubt I have one coming at all this time.
