Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. As shared in the previous thread, SHOPHAPPY gets 40% off final sale. The site hasn't updated yet and I'm not seeing the red lettering at the moment. I placed an order to beat TDS (the dreaded final sale). I don't think it will randomly show up on the receipt, but I will have my order confirmation just in case.

    1. I placed an order yesterday and very glad I did - everything I ordered has switched to Final Sale today! All the items with .99 endings I have checked so far have switched to final sale.

  2. If there's anything you're interested in, new items are up, and GIFTNOW is still working for 30% off, for now :)

  3. I'm looking for a stadium cloth cocoon coat is gossamer peach size 00 or 00p if anyone sees one in their store on return.

  4. Maybe if I'm in the vicinity I'll stop in, but I probably won't go out of my way because it's a small rollout and because I'm not interested in much based on the website rollout. I'd be better off staying home and cleaning out my closet (and may just do that!).

  5. Anyone know the in store price of the bow popover and the crinkle shirt in red check? Not sure if these made it to sale in store and planning on heading there after work. TIA!!

    1. JessF - bow popover was marked $69.99 in-store yesterday. I didn't see the red check shirt in the store I visited, but I wasn't looking for it.

    2. Thanks! They are both on hold for me at my store so I know my trip won't be a total waste. Expecting things to be picked over as others have mentioned but have some returns to make.

  6. Review here of the crystal color flower & mixed stones necklaces. The crystal flower is $10 cheaper online. The mixed stones is reg price online vs $99.99 in-store.

    1. gigi is the crystal colored mixed stone necklace on sale as well? or the crystal rosette necklace or bracelet? TIA! I'm not able to make it to a store for a few days!

    2. AD MD - I just did a search on jcrew.com for those necklaces and am not seeing them. Do you have style #s? Still not sure if I'll know, but I can look if I go this weekend.

  7. I'm not heading to a store this weekend but I do like two dresses in the new rollout, the misty fog shift and the side zip varsity dress. My only complaint is why didn't JCrew release a dress like the varsity side zip, which is cotton, last spring? They were too busy releasing odd cut tops and mini shorts, and I would have loved to see cute casual cotton dresses like the varsity one. It's probably too cold to wear it now so I may wait for sale, but I hope they release more dresses like that in the warmer months.

    1. I wish the Side Zip Varsity Dress was a smidge longer!!!!

I won't be going this weekend. Hate FS and I have yet to wear lots of the goodies I've gotten lately w all the promos.

I am wondering if the Excursion Vests will make it to sale. There are quite a few in my store at FP still. I would pick up another one or two on sale.

    2. ruffles, do you think the length on the Side Zip Varsity Dress is about the same as the length on the Maritime dresses?

    3. Cate, hard for me to tell. Hopefully a JCA will review soon because it is very cute! I may phone for measurements; will report back.

  8. Does anyone know if the retail excursion vest fits the same as the factory version? Ie if I wear a small in factory, would I wear a small in retail? TIA

    1. savvy shopper - They fit the same imo. I took xs in both factory and retail excursions. HTH

  9. I went to 3 stores yesterday looking for the one item I'm interested in, the fair isle leggings in the blue colorway that are finally marked down in stores. If you're a medium, you are in luck, there were tons! I'm looking for a small or xsmall (I heard they stretch out)... if anyone sees a pair can you let me know?! THANKS!

    1. I didn't look at sizes, but the Mall at Green Hills (Nashville, TN) had a bunch last night... Good luck!

    2. Walden Galleria (Buffalo) had at least three smalls and one xxs.

(And, not much else, I might add. That store is picked over! And they didn't appear to have new arrivals, so the front of the store was literally empty racks and the sale section was sad, sad, sad.)

    3. Wendy,

Do you live in Nashville? My fiance and I are thinking of honeymooning there in October (we love country music). I would be interested to hear from a fellow JCA where would be a nice hotel to stay, restaurants/bars to visit, and of course the best J.Crew in town:). My e-mail is holldoll129@gmail.com if you have time. Thanks!

    4. Garden State Plaza in NJ had them in XS.

    5. Hey, HollDoll129--I live just outside the city (in the 'burbs). I'll be glad to send recommendations, though it may take me a few days. I'll defer to someone more into the downtown scene for bar recommendations, but I can share some restaurant names and good places to hit, for sure. Congrats on your upcoming marriage!

    6. Thank you so much, Wendy! Whenever you have time, I really appreciate it!

  10. As another JCA noted, there were few to no cuts in-store. Most of the prices looked the same to me. Remember that the stores can sometimes be bad w/the ticket gun. As in not using it. If you're really interested in something, it's worth taking it to the register for a price check.

You can see the latest info in the In-Store Price Guide. My mind is so jumbled from the numbers, I can't even drop a few highlights here. Look for the dates in red. :)

    2. I know we are just starting to see the new roll-out now, but wondering if anyone has thoughts on when the next '25% off regular priced merchandise' might happen from experience? I see one or two things I like in the new arrivals. I am a relatively new J Crew shopper, but am already used to shopping the discount periods. Not sure if I should take my chances and wait for another sale, or pick up these new items now at regular price in case they are gone quickly. Does anyone remember what happened with sale timing last year? :)

    3. No FP promo that I remember of until President's Day (it has been pretty consistent in the last couple of years)

  11. I do not plan to go to the mall this weekend. The sale section at my J.Crew is usually pretty big, but my sizes always sell out quickly, so I'm rarely able to find any good deals there. Not sure if they have received the new arrivals, but from looking at them online, there isn't anything I'm interested in this time around anyways. Too bad J.Crew didn't offer another Aran Crafts sweater with this rollout. The turtleneck seemed to have sold really well.

For those of you shopping the 40% off online, I've updated the list of Promo-Priced Items and Final Sale Markdowns (the promo items receive the discount but are not final sale). That list can be seen here.

Also for those who may be shopping the Madewell 40% Off Sale, I've updated the list of Madewell Promo-Priced items here.

  13. I went to my store today, it was VERY empty and the sale selection was slim. I did get the collection cashmere cable button sweater in pink that was obviously a return for 34 dollars after promo. None of the new stuff was out they were in the process so I asked to try on the Merino Tipped Side Panel V-Neck in Sand Yellow if the box was opened. I ended up buying it in XXS it will look really cute with white jeans in warmer weather and I like the neon yellow contrast. FYI is it a spring/summer weight sweater, a bit on the see through side and honestly the material is not that soft all those things said I still bought it.

  15. The Mens New Arrival sections has a book called "THE NEW YORK TIMES 36 HOURS: 150 WEEKENDS IN THE USA & CANADA" and there is also one for Europe. They are both sold out, but I wanted to give a heads up that Amazon has them. They look like they'd make a nice gift.

    1. Snowbrdgrl, thanks so much for the heads-up on this! I would have totally missed out if not for your post. I really wanted the black, but didn't want to pay full retail ($140). This was an absolute steal. Cheers!

  17. The only reason I will be going to J.Crew this weekend will be to make returns. I bought the Blackwatch Plaid Schoolboy before the holidays when it was on popback one morning (yay!) but when I received it one of the arm holes was significantly smaller than the other (boo!). I couldn't even pull it up to my shoulder! The blazer appears beautiful but I am so disappointed in the poor quality.

  18. I did stop by to do some returns last night. The sale section which was not just in one section was pretty large. I saw some items that must have been Xmas returns since they were not normal items stocked at that store, cashmere, liberty tops etc. but nothing I wanted at 40% with FS. I still am waiting for a couple of orders from online to arrive but believe that I am done with winter shopping at J Crew.

  21. I have stopped at several J.Crew stores between today and yesterday and it was pretty slim pickings unfortunately. I am really hoping to find the Merino Tippi Sweater in Houndstooth in the Artichoke Green in an XS and the Double Zip Colorblock Sweater in Natural Acorn in an XS and haven't been able to find either. I even had one of the stores look them up to see if any other store had them and when I called the stores that supposedly did they both said they were sold out. Has anyone seen either of these items in my size at your store? If so please email at jxmcdowell{at}gmail{dot}com.

  22. the crystal rosette bracelet, a2956, is 39.99 in store before the 40% off--great price as it was $115 originally!

  23. I went in quickly and picked up the Cheers tee for $17 (and in time for NYE and NYD celebrations). I got a XXS while I would normally have gotten a XS but there were none and the XXS fit almost the same. I don't have time to look for another size as I am leaving until after NYD so this was my best/last shot. Happy shopping everyone!

    2. It was Rockfeller Center, they had tons in the sale section and it's marked down to $29.99 before 40% off. HTH!

    3. suisui - The stores don't always mark sale items or 2nd, 3rd cuts. Prices are usually the same in each-store. Not always, but generally that's the case.

  24. I went to the Bellevue Square store yesterday and to the UVillage one today and both were quite picked over. Sale items were still 40% off.

Same goes for Madewell. The UVillage sale section was quite large, but the BS store had more boots on sale.

  25. I was in Rock Center earlier today - slim pickings, didn't notice anything new (but maybe that's because it's all looking alike?).

  27. @Blakemdjohns - just had to say hello as Walden Galleria is my store as well :) agreed - store looks barren in the front, sale very picked over.

I stopped in last night - had several returns to make and did pick up the black watch shirt for $30.

I also stopped in to the factory store - store was 50% + 20% off, all new arrivals that I wasn't much interested in and clearance was all an extra 50% off. Saw a few retail items but it was very picked over. I did grab a pair of the emery flats for $20 and also a wool schoolboy in a stone color, not sure what the colorway was on the tag and it isn't on the website but it looks similar to the linen edinburgh stone color currently on the factory website.

    1. Hello! I wonder if we've ever been in the store at the same time. I tend to do more shopping online because I spend more time in front of a computer, but I'm in the store a few times a month to look at the stuff in person.

  28. Went to another J Crew today (again not one of my usual stores as I am traveling) and bought the silk diamond tile skirt recently reviewed by Audrey on Life is Short, ( sorry don't know how to do hyper links on my iPhone). It netted to about $42 after 40% off. I think the skirt runs TTS but I sized up anyway so I can wear it lower on my hips and get more length. This is a great skirt that will transition easily into Spring and Summer and can be worn with tights and boots now. The sales section of this J Crew was one of the best I've ever seen. They had an entire wall of necklaces and bracelets in the sales section and had a good size run on many items.
