J.Crew Sale Continues: 30% Off & Free Shipping

J.Crew sent an email this morning reminding customers they are offering an additional 30% off & free shipping at J.Crew (both online and in stores) with code GIFTNOW. The additional percent offer expires December 24, 2013 (and free shipping on any order expires today!)

What else? There are over 400 new styles added to the Sale section (click here to shop online) section online this morning. YEY! Lots of merchandise for everyone (1200+ for Women and 580+ for Men). From the looks of it, things are moving out relatively quickly.

When checking out the items, I noticed the Liberty Pajama Set in Katie Ann Floral (item 07677) which is on promotion from $198 to $158. Still too expensive for me to justify a purchase. However, it is gorgeous!

Incidentally, is it just me or are we all a bit shopped out lately? From the comments, it is starting to feel that way. (I wasn't sure if it was just me and I was just seeing what I related to.) I am still checking out J.Crew, and purchasing a random item or two, but no where near the levels I did a few months ago (or even this time last year). All the promotions have been nice, but nothing I am overly excited about is pulling me in.

Will you be taking advantage of this latest promotion? What are your thoughts on the new markdowns to sale? Are you still buying as much at J.Crew lately? Share your thoughts!

Quick Poll:  Are you "shopped out" at the Crew?

  1. Check out the Crewcuts section for boots if you wear women's up to 8.5. The oiled suede Chelsea boots (29725) are really cool and are only $70 after the promo. Free shipping and not final sale!

    1. Thanks for the tip. I had a similar pair many years ago.

  2. I'm definitely shopped out. The occasional item jumps out at me, like those Liberty pajamas, but I'm overall not finding much at the Crew these days. Although their direction has turned a bit away from my style, mostly I'm not buying because I have what I need. I'm just filling in holes here and there (i.e. warm turtleneck sweater). The promos are nice though and those pjs are tempting but I've got enough pjs.

  3. I got the plaid shirt in garnet flame, but that's about it. Last year I loved so many of the sweaters, but not this year. I get it that many high end designers are turning to North Africa for inspiration, but I haven't loved any of JCrew's renditions of the whole Moroccan thing. And I didn't like any of the panels/leather insets/zippers etc. I don't know. Maybe I have to much Crew in my closet to add anything new. Plus the NYC sample sales have been amazing--except for JCrew's which was atrocious.

  4. Tempted due to the fact that final sale will probably return soon and I don't want to get burned. The free shipping no minimum also makes it appealing to pick up a few odds and ends.

  5. Has anyone tried the longer merino cardigan this year? Is it bum-covering? Hows the fit? I need more long cardigans in my life, but not sure if these are the same as last years....

    1. Aren't they Rose?!? Seriously gorgeous. :)

I can't imagine looking that cute when I wake up in the morning. (I honestly look like a hot mess.) But those PJs would help! ;)

    5. AD MD, thanks for your tip on the Schoolboy in Pack Green! I asked my PS to order for me since I need petite, and when I received my email confirmation, the price was $56.59! I have no idea how it came out to be that price, but I'm definitely not complaining!

  9. I did order the black suede kikis with the bow for dressy occasions (hole in my shoe closet) and that has been it. I think I will take a break now until spring - there is not even anything on my wishlist that I really, really want if it went on sale....

  10. First year since 1999 that I have not bought a single thing from winter J.Crew.

  11. Well from the poll's results, I am not alone. I guess we are in a little shopping rut. Lots of reasons for it (probably make a dedicated post about it next week). It's interesting since J.Crew is still selling out in certain items, while other items are just lingering past their expiration, I mean seasonal date. ;)

  12. I love a lot of their stuff, but there's only so much gray and navy my wardrobe can take. I wish there were more colors offered this holiday. I am loving the jewels.

  13. I finally ordered the paisley and the lame cate camis... on third markdown, the prices became reasonable. I probably won't buy anything else though... J.Crew hasn't been doing it for me much lately.

  17. The promos have been great - lots of things on my wish list brought down to a realistic price point and I've been lucky enough to snag a few.

The flip side is that all these promos consume A LOT of time and energy - stalking, praying, calculating, buying, analyzing, returning - and gawd, it's only clothes! There are so many other productive holiday things I should be doing instead of solving differential equations to see if 30% + add'l 15% is better than 25% and free shipping :)

    2. Ruffles, I agree. This J Crew sale shopping is becoming an Olympic event and I don't know if I have the physical stamina for it :) Forget about the math side of it, my brain hurts.

    5. I hate when I get in that cycle. I refuse to keep anything I don't love, but I haven't quite stopped trying things out. Then I'm back to returning. At least it's free for me to return, but it's still an unnecessary time suck.

  18. Not buying much this season and shopping my J Crew-filled closet...it helps that there's nothing I have to have. Last fall/winter was another story entirely...I was getting J Crew packages every other day.

I've been wearing a lot of J Crew coats from past seasons, including the stadium cloth duffle coats in light nectar and deep violet from last year which I got for $125.99 each on sale, and the wool duffle coat in camel (from 2009) that I got for $151.99 on sale (SOOO warm), and the wool harbor peacoat with thinsulate, which I got for $62.99 in 2010! I admit I spent a lot of time and energy stalking these items, waiting for promos, and shopping in the middle of the night. The $63 peacoat was a pop-back in March of that year, and was available only in my size. Got lucky I guess.

I also bought a *ton* of cashmere on sale last winter, so I'm good there, too.

  19. I stopped in my B & M store today. Huge sale section, but I still felt the prices were quite high. I also miss the merino cardigans and lovely wool scarves and gloves from other seasons.
