  1. I do love that I can still find some gems at J.Crew. I've had some popback luck lately with work dresses and found the houndstooth sheath dress as well as the V-neck sheath dress in double serge wool.

I also picked up that pretty scarf print keyhole dress (which I'm hoping fits) yesterday as well. So while there are definitely more duds than gems these days, I still get excited when I find something worthwhile!

    1. That scarf print dress was so pretty, and should work well for you since you're a bit taller- I really needed it in a petite at 5'4" but struggled on whether or not to send it back!

    2. I hear you, Anne! I found the resume dress on popback in the bright pink and love it! It's a little too long for me (I'm 5'3'') so I'm trying a petite but if that doesn't work I'll just get it hemmed. -lep33shops

  2. Three dresses is a great score, Anne!
We recently did inventory, so I'm guessing that has something to do with the popbacks of late. And I love hearing about popback scores! Just yesterday I received the wintress coat and was thrilled that it fit (the sleeves were long enough), and I finally have a longer puffy winter coat. Prior to this I tried North Face but the fit was off on me. The hip length Juicy one I have can be replaced...long overdue!

    2. I remember, I thought of you when ordering! I am really so pleased, especially since I did not want to spend a lot on this style coat.

  3. Shout out to phone CS. I had located a pair of sandals at a store on the opposite coast only to be told that no, they would not ship them and no, they could not price match because they couldn't pull up the item online. Well, whether they were $120 or $40 was kind of a moot point unless I was planning a cross country trip anyway. But I didn't want to give up too easily so I called CS and not only did she verify the $40 price, she called the store got them to match, send, and wave shipping and now they are on their way to me! She was so pleasant and easy to work with- a great model of what CS should be!

  4. Got my half off sale order and some hits as well as some misses.

    First, the positive.
Slim perfect shirt in piece-dyed Irish linen. I've been wanting this since I got the black linen Regent pants last year.. I got this in the 4. As usual it just fits my upper back but it's a little loose through my long narrow torso, but I tried it on with the Regent pants and LOVE. It's such a chic, easy look I could dress up with heels or down with flats/sneakers.

Reversible leather and canvas belt in pink stripe. This doesn't reverse to pink as the description said, it's just black. So I may end up returning, but it's a nice belt and a fair price on sale.

Three-strap sandals in suede. Black, the smaller of my two sizes. If you have really narrow feet these probably won't work for you but I LOVE THEM. Almost wish I got the beige also but I think I've only worn my Madewell saddle heels from last year once, if at all, so I didn't want to buy two. Comfortable height. Don't look ridiculous with shorts as some heels do, but great with pants.

    Now the not so great:
Ruffle skirt in cotton-poplin. I tried two sizes and the waist is still big, but the skirt is long and straight and does nothing for my shape. I thought it would be a little more a-line, even at a great price going back. If pencil skirts work for you this might too but I hate pencil skirts on myself unless they're really short, and those days are gone.

Easy short in matte crepe. The 00 popped back and I thought if they fit like the easy pants they could be cute. They're just awful. Tight around the thighs, baggy where they shouldn't be, weird length.

Scoopneck Tencel™ T-shirt, it's just ok. I feel like I've paid $5 for a similar muscle tee from banana. I'll probably keep as a layering tee but it's pretty sheer and nothing to write home about. I got small and XS, haven't tried the small. One thing that's a plus is that the short sleeves aren't that awkward length that needs to be cuffed. They're short and seem to just cover the top of my arm.

I also got the 2011 Foundry pant in size 2. Regular readers might know how I got the size 6 and love the slouchy fit. The 2 fits ok, not tight but not droopy. The length is awkward and I kind of want to cut the bottom off an inch or so to make them ankle length.

    1. @Suz Has,

The 2011 Foudry fit my waist and hips well in 2, but is too short, so I am keeping the looser size 4. I considered releasing the hem - it looks like a double hem - to get the extra 1/2 or 3/4 inch. Then I decided I am happier with the 4 - they ride a bit lower on my hips and have a longer inseam so the length is good with loafers or low boots. And of course they can be cuffed.
I am wearing the mint green striped McNutt linen shirt right now. I have black as well. I love this shirt, was surprised it did not sell faster. The color is great with white pants.

    2. Releasing the hem is a good idea. For the price I paid I'll make them work!

    3. The linen shirt didn't work on my body but I agree, it is very nice. Good score!

You and those pants lol! They do look great on you. I cut a pair of khakis this summer and never looked back. Go for it!

  5. I am loving my Ashbury flares. I found a white pair as a popback at a fantastic price ($13.50) in my usual size 4 and took a chance on final sale. Turns out they are the best fitting jeans ever. I don't know why I never tried them when they came out - maybe I thought I would be too chunky? The only thing I would change is to have them one inch longer, but that is not important. Like them so much I hunted on Poshmark and bid on a pair in the Palmetto wash. Those are great too - a much stiffer denim with only a tiny bit of stretch. I mean that in a good way, I like the old-school feel.

  6. At Brookfield now. New items include a new midi Liberty skirt and a bunch of logo tees and sweatshirts. There’s a long sleeve Je t’aime New York shirt, texture like a thick henly. Photos on my Pinterest: user name is morninglemon

I tried to find your pinterest photos...but I am not very pin savy.
