This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.
So
if you have recently purchased,
or stopped by a J.Crew store to try
on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you
might be willing to share that
information with us in this post.
Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.
In
particular, if you could
mention a few of the noteworthy
details like fit, size, fabric, and the
like— that would be fantastic! Thanks
in advance! :)
New arrivals shoes- yeesh. OT, does anybody have a referral link for Tradesy? There are some old-school J. Crew things I'm interested on there! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYes, happy to send you one, it's a really good discount! What's your email? If I get anything for you signing up and it's transferrable, I'll send it to you as well since I never shop on there (I just sell every so often).
DeleteAwesome, thank you! It's aly2004aly at yahoo
DeleteCan I get a referral code too? I've never used Tradesy but I just looked and spotted a unicorn from years ago that I never thought I'd see again.
Deleteeeps i'm happy to send you one, need an email for it
DeleteCass, I'll take yours too (e-mail above), just in case Anthroblogger's doesn't come through.
DeleteAlyssa, sent one to you.
DeleteGot it, thanks! I'll give AB at least til I get home from work, otherwise I will use yours later tonight!
DeleteAlyssa, just saw this after I sent you the link. Glad someone came through, as I’ve been away from my computer all day. Love this community and how helpful everybody is!

Can anybody comment on the Anya flats? How do they compare to the Cece, and where are they made? Are they comfortable? I ordered a new pair of retail Ceces and was really disappointed, as the elastic was cutting my foot and the sides bowed out. So sad.
ReplyDeleteI recently purchased two pair in leather Belvedere Red and Navy. The fit is tts, good for me, I have narrow heels medium width feet. The quality isn't bad for half price, and am going to inquire as to wear they are made. I also purchased a pair of Cece's in Platinum. No problem with the elastic but they bowed out and were too wide. I returned these. I have posted before along with others how much I miss Cece's and their beautiful colors. I am constantly begging Jcrew to manufacture these again in Italy according to their old design specs. For the moment I will wear the Anya's, but continue searching other sites to purchase Cece's.
DeleteAnthro Blogger, I am also a devoted original CeCes fan from the Made in Italy days, and I treat my remaining pairs like precious jewels. IMO, the new Ceces are actually inferior to the Anya’s.
DeleteI have Anya’s in black, nude, silver, gold, red and pewter. I think the quality is quite good and the leather is thick and soft. They fit me TTS and I have a slightly wide foot. I find them reasonably comfortable given that very few ballets have enough arch support for all-day wear.
I’m not a big Factory shopper in general, but the Anya’s are an exception. Real Ceces are gone forever, but I think you will find the Anya is a nicer substitute than what they are calling “Ceces” at retail these days.
Thank you both! Seems like I may have to give them a try when they’re on promo!
DeleteThere are some new arrivals up, multiple reissues of throwback items in new colors, cotton/spandex 1993 tank tops. I don't remember them having spandex and cotton rollnecks that are cotton/nylon.
ReplyDeleteyuk, the “1993” favorite tanks which were once 100% cotton are now “modal + spandex”. Another classic ruined.
DeleteI saw those cotton rollnecks a few weeks ago at Brookfield. They feel like the old-school cotton rollnecks but I am not pleased with the cotton blend. Other than price, why does it need to be a blend? Does it make it softer? They felt nearly the same to me.
DeleteA new way to shop? Whoever thinks of these things must never have shopped before.
ReplyDeleteRight?! Three items I am interested in purchasing are EXCLUDED FROM ALL PROMOS. I’ll wait. At this point, it’s wants and not needs for me.
DeleteI tossed a couple of things in my cart to see if the promo worked and it applied to only one thing... So yeah... Kinda dumb and pointless promo.
DeleteNo shop February marches on!
DeleteWebsite issues again today. saving me money.
ReplyDeleteI placed a small order on 3/02 for the gold tassel necklace and two sweaters to ship to store. I picked up the necklace (17.99) and one sweater (19.99) on Thursday, and the other sweater (34.99) was available for pickup later that Thursday. Yesterday I emailed asking if they could honor the 30% +10% off promo on the one item I had yet to pick up. Well they said yes, and they took it off the entire transaction. I was happy to pay the $17.99 for the necklace which was a popback, and the other $19.99 fair isle sweater is going back.
ReplyDeleteReally, when their CS is good (which it nearly always is), it's fantastic!
I like the promo and was able to order Collection Drake Horseback Rider floral silk pj top from NYFW. Huge fan of Drake and buying NYFW items when I have a chance since J Crew isn’t showing anymore. Also ordered Belgian loafers in black and white and Miel cashmere sweater since that color was included in promo. Threw in a super cheap 4th item for 40% off.
ReplyDeleteNew arrivals are completely uninteresting. There isn't anything about 90's fashion that I need in my wardrobe in 2018.
ReplyDeleteIt does feel like 90’s.
DeleteMadewell has new arrivals too! I ordered the Kiera slide in the nude. Tried the black in store a s love it. Review of the Kiera and Quinn sandals on ny IG
ReplyDeleteOh and forgot to say that Jenna is in the new Instyle with a story:”the style icon talks fashion and food”.
DeleteThanks Ina!!!
DeleteMy Instyle magazine just came in the mail today. Might be good lunch time reading! Thanks Ina!
DeleteI like the sling back bow pumps in the camel color. It will be nice with white skinny jeans and a billowy summer shirt with a pot de Miel bag from Clare V. 😊
ReplyDeleteI am frustrated and disappointed.
ReplyDelete1. website is glitchy = frustrated
2. most of the items I am interested in are excluded from the promo = disappointed
3. there are a number of items that I am interested in trying but they are back-ordered to March 26. If available on that date, with shipping time to Canada, I would not receive those items until the end of the first week of April (at the earliest). = frustrated and disappointed.
Question: why post new arrivals that really are not available for another 2 weeks. Why not release those as new arrivals when they are actually available?
I’m not really interested in the new arrivals but I did go into a store a couple of days ago.
ReplyDeleteI bought the wrap top in striped cotton (blue), I thought it was a very nicely done shirt. I had a hard time with sizing though. My usual size xs seemed a bit shorter than I like at 5’7” but a small was too big up too even though the length was better. The tie looked a bit shorter/better in xs too. In the end I went with xs, hoping the length won’t bother me. I’ll wear a cami underneath as it gapes a bit when moving around.
I bought the long open cardigan, hoping it doesn’t pill much as some reviews have mentioned. I bought the grey and it didn’t look pilled at all even though it was hanging in the sale section. None of the grey ones looked pilled while some of the other colours did. Winter has returned here with lots of snow and it felt like such a cozy sweater. I took my smaller size xs and it fit well. It has a flattering fit.
I tried the 9” lookout in wilkenson?? wash (the very light wash) but I felt like they showed every lump or bump through the material so I passed. I’m a lookout devotee but these felt a bit tight in my usual sz and I didn’t feel like trying another size. I do love my Prescott wash and charcoal wash ones though which were both tts for me (since they renamed the lookouts).
