I didn't visit but Ive actually placed a few orders for items I had wanted to try but were final sale a few weeks ago. Of course, prices are double what they were a few weeks ago too, and I'm hoping the percentage off sale returns and I can get price adjustments, but if not I will reach out to customer service and a former VPS/now "stylist" who has helped me and explain why everything is being returned.
ReplyDeleteI know people either love or hate the paint splatter collection...I'm drawn to certain pieces but prefer to do the painting myself. I've ordered some chinos in various cuts/colors so I can DIY. (I'd use chinos I already own but don't have any that would work.)
@SuzHas, what kind of paint will you be using?
DeleteAcrylics. I also have some latex. I think the trick (from previous experience) is setting it with heat before washing.

DeleteHeather I totally agree! It even varies throughout the day. Two things I was looking at in the wee hours of the morning increased in price by lunch time. Now I'm even less inclined to buy them J Crew!

Sadly, we went out of town but I didn't even ask my hubby to stop at Jcrew because of the lack of promos. I figure I'll wait until there's at least some kind of promo. I think he was shocked lol as I usually have an excuse to drag him and the kids there.
ReplyDeleteI know there's a new, mini rollout coming up this week and if you search for 'Pre-order', you can see a handful of items, including more Paint-splatter. The latest candidates to get the treatment include the Fatigue Shirt and the Mechanic Field jacket. (There are also current items mixed in, like the Lady Jacket with Liberty trim.) I cherish my Mechanic jacket so this feels a bit like sacrilege to me! :-O I think I would cry if I got paint on my jacket IRL, but I'm sure others will enjoy this piece. Not much else is showing up right now.

DeletePaint splatter is all over Ralph Lauren new arrivals. There's a black and white pattern that's quite subtle. Not something I'd expect to see at RL but it's a bit more refined. It's growing on me. I wouldn't wear it myself, but I know it will look fab on others.
