This is the weekly "Other JCrew-like Retailers" post (similar to the "Off On A Tangent"
posts), where we can share our finds from other
retailers that have offerings similar to J.Crew
(like Anthropologie, LE Canvas, Gap, BR, Talbots, Ann
Taylor, and the like.)
If you
have recently encountered items that are similar to
J.Crew, maybe you might be
willing to share that information with us
in this post.
Please feel
free to share your story on almost any topic—
including experiences with certain merchandise pieces,
promotions/ offers, in-store visits,
transactions with store associates, etc.
Wouldn't say they are quite like J. Crew but a few similarities...but Gap had the most amazing clearance..They did mark downs yesterday morning plus had extra 60 off clearance in stores....so wish I could have gotten to more than one yesterday....Got some green girlfriend jeans for around $4. A blouse for around $3 and a sweater for about $3 as well..J. Crew take note..this is how clearance is done :)
ReplyDeleteSome of my favorite wardrobe items have been found on the additional %-off clearance rack at Gap! Our store closed though last year so the fun has ended for me. Glad you scored so well!
DeleteI think I've mentioned here before that I defected from Banana Republic a few years ago when they tried to change direction. I couldn't embrace their sudden love of boxy, polyester vanity sizing so I stopped shopping there for about two years. (It was all so surprising and shocking b/c Marissa Webb is herself so stylish and put-together, but none of that seemed to be translating correctly into what they were trying to do.) But I'm happy to say that, for me personally, at least, they seem to be righting their ship a little and I've actually bought two pieces there recently. Hooray! Good sales, too.
ReplyDeleteI tried to buy pants from there during Friends and Family, but the pants are excluded because of BR Picks. I'll have to watch the website, which I rarely ever do.
DeleteBR has improved greatly in recent seasons. I have seen a lot of nice stuff. Way more than I have seen at j. crew
DeleteI love their straight jeans (have a darker wash from this season and a lighter wash from last season). It's hard to find a normal straight jean and theirs are pretty good. They have a bit of stretch in them, so if you don't like that you may not like them.
DeleteCate, I agree. The BR straight jeans are SO comfortable and flattering. I was against buying them at first because there was 8% poly in them. Glad I tried them because they are great. Bought an extra pair with the 50% Friends & Family sale last week.
DeleteCate and shopalot, I agree! I have three pairs of those, they are my favorite! Wish they offered them in a lighter shade of blue (at least, I've only been able to find them in dark denim, gray and black.)
DeleteTM93, they do offer a lighter shade of blue but I think it's distressed. I didn't like the way they fit me, not as well as the darker wash did anyway. I wish they brought back the lighter wash from last year.
DeleteEquipment is having their friends & family sale-25% off + free shipping. Code and details are on their website. HTH someone!
ReplyDeleteBoden is ending a 20% off sale on selected categories (tops, tees, knitwear, pants, shorts, and skirts) today. I wrote more about it at this blog post. The post itself, though, is more a review on a dress and some clearance shoes, though. :-)
ReplyDeleteAnthropologie has great chino shorts!
ReplyDeletePicked up the britt bow patent slingback pumps at Ann Taylor last week during their friends and family in both blush and black. AT heels are probably my most comfortable heels because they are padded in a way most shoes aren't. These are darling, TTS, and comfy, with the 2" kittenish heel. Love the blush color especially -- it's my favorite neutral.
ReplyDeleteOh, I must check these out -- I recently bought my first pair of AT shoes -- Eryn pumps in suede and I found them to be incredibly comfortable like you said, even right out of the box! (This seldomly happens for me!) Love the heel height but the insole padding is really what makes these so comfortable for a full day of wear at work.
DeleteTory Burch has their private sale going on right now...quite a good deal on a lot of items. Link here
ReplyDeleteWas just going to write something about this sale! I picked up the TB Penn Nylon Mid Zip Tote, a great price for $99 (usually $225). It's a lot like the nylon Ella, slightly different shape and with a zip. These are great for shopping in areas that encourage reusable bags -- I always keep one of these in my car.
DeleteI've shared a bit of style inspiration via Madewell, with my own personal twist for a less-spendy version of the look here: Madewell Looks We Love... Shop It: The Real Deal or The Real Steal.
ReplyDeleteMadewell also sent out their Spring 2016 catalog this month (which can be viewed online), and added several new arrivals to the website. I've shared my personal picks in this post. :)
Vince just started a sale today with a lot of new markdowns on their website, plus shipping is always free! If you sign up for emails they send you a code for 10% off your first order, too.
ReplyDeleteI've shared my weekly list of sales & deals from retailers around the web, along with my personal picks in this post. Lots of extra good deals taking place this weekend, too. :)
ReplyDeleteAnthropologie is offering 20% off purchase with Anthro card through the weekend.
