This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopping
by a J.Crew store this weekend to see
what's available (if
anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in
person, maybe you might be
willing to share that with us in this
post. In particular, if you could
share with us a few of the
noteworthy items that are available, at
what prices, and potential sizes
the store is carrying (as well
as the store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also,
please let us know if your local store is
carrying an additional percent
off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S.
I noticed that many of
you have already been reporting sale
items (and in which stores) in
other posts which by the way "thank
you!" :) I really appreciate how
helpful we are for each other!
good friday....they didn't even give us free shipping. canada 20% off sale. definitely not going. C

ReplyDeleteI've shared a list of sales & deals happening around the web this weekend, as well as my personal picks from each retailer (including J.Crew, J.Crew Factory, & Madewell) in this post on my blog, for those interested. :)
ReplyDeleteNew website format when you click to look at items from a computer..interesting but not better or worse than before though I didn't see an option to view 100 at once like before..annoying
ReplyDeleteI will be visiting, but only to make a return (Belted Chino in the wrong size. Was able to re-order in right size, happy with this item.)
ReplyDeleteI went to the mall today for some other shopping and J. Crew was depressing. The mall was packed (so much so that I walked out of Sephora because it was too crowded. And J. Crew was a desolate wasteland. Not a single customer in the store. The clothes looked uninspired and nobody was shopping. I have no idea how this company is going to stay in business. Every other store I went into (Free People, Anthropologie, Lululemon) had tons of shoppers. Oh well. I haven't bought anything in months.
ReplyDeleteI went for a return (the floral lace pants, what can I tell you! As much as I stalked them they just didn't feel right with my wardrobe!). The store was crowded, decent line. Sales section was kind of a disaster. It was 50% off but final sale. (So much for items I got last week at 30% off, sigh.)
ReplyDeletethe only thing I was tempted by were the suede flats with the glitter bow, (I forget style name, I think sloane but could be wrong). I wear a 9 in the Ava but found these in an 8 and they fit. Super cute. But even with discount and 50% off they would be $70 and final sale. I decided to put them back. It seems like a lot for a holiday item when spring has finally sprung!
Suz Has - are you in US? Wondering if all stores have 50% off sale?
DeleteYes, NJ. To clarify, sale section was 50% off and final sale. Not the entire store.
DeleteThanks, there are a few sale items I've been wanting to pick up. :)
DeleteStopped earlier at my B&M and contrary to what SuzHas experienced, mine was very busy and apparently people were buying, not just looking around. It had 40% off sale ( final). Lots os items on the sale section but nothing that appeared to be "new to sale" for me.
ReplyDeleteSA told me that next week there will be two rollouts , a small one on Monday and a bigger on Friday.
Since I was doing returns (sizing issues) and complained that I don't know my JC size anymore(looking into my closet you'd think that at least three people use it), SA said that her usual suggestion to her clients is to buy 3 of each (your regular size, one up and one down).
Many of us will wholeheartedly agree.
I actually said my store WAS crowded as well.
Delete@SuzHas, true! My apologies. I should have mentioned that was @blakmdjohns' experience, not yours. Yours was the 50%off sale and I mixed it up . My mistake :(
ReplyDeleteReview of the short-sleeve shift dress in ornate lace in this post.
ReplyDeleteI might go in to return the metallic gingham popover (4). Or wait until Monday. I kept the 6. Check out a close-up on my Instagram.
I didn't care for the metallic gingham popover until I saw it on you. It is really pretty. I was thinking the metallic would be too blingy, but it seems to add just the right touch. Thanks for the posting the pic!
DeleteIs the 6 a size up from your usual size?
ReplyDeleteI stopped in last night to make some returns and had a little time to kill before meeting a friend so tried on a few items. Sale was 40% off in my store - nothing exciting in the sale section at my store, lots of tees, shop worn sweaters and Ryder pants galore. The mall was pretty busy for a Friday evening and the store was moderately busy. One of my favorite SAs was working - she looked super cute in the selvedge matchstick jeans, gold Harper flats and the leather front cardigan from last year and a white button down.
I tried on a few dresses - the bell sleeve striped dress - this didn't work for me, but I was glad it wasn't as short as I thought it would be. It definitely runs big and being larger on my bottom than my top sizing down wasn't a problem. The sleeves just aren't for me. I also tried the contrast eyelet dress and the tipped jacquard shift in dot as well as the embroidered tee and the wide leg ponte pants. The ponte pants were a surprise love - I sized down to a 10 and they were perfect. I didn't buy anything but I am still thinking about these pants - they are a nice thick knit (same pixie pant material - the softer thicker pixie material. They'll be coming home with me at some point.
I posted the try-on photos on my blog here
Thanks for all the reviews, Anne. I tried to leave a comment on your blog, but the captcha thing wouldn't let me.
Delete@maryeb thanks! I'll have to check it out...I'm only so technically savvy...haha. appreciate the feedback :)
DeleteI agree, Anne...thank you so much for taking the time to do the reviews. I know you didn't care for the bell sleeve dress, but I think it looks really cute on you! :)
Delete@Melissa thank you! I think it's hard to tell in the photo, but it was pretty loose up top - it felt sloppy to me. Had the fit been better I probably would have been swayed! :)
DeleteAgree with Melissa, that dress looks cute on you. Thanks for the reviews!
DeleteAnne - thanks for the reviews! Helpful as always. After it hits sale, the stripe dress might be worth an alteration to get the right look on top.
DeleteVancouver Park Royal and Robson stores 40% off final sale section yesterday. Same stock. Tippi s, plaid shirts, lots of s/s tees. Georgie loafers at Robson.
ReplyDeleteWent to both J.Crew and Madewell to return. Madewell was busy..foot traffic and everyone was trying on clothes...long lines at the dressing rooms. J.Crew on the other hand looked so dead-even with the 25% promo--That's pretty sad.
ReplyDeleteThis was at San Francisco.
DeleteI Crew in Orlando had 40% off sale, but I bought nothing. Liked the patterns on several of the boy shirts but HATED the buttons. Horrid. Seriously need to do better.
ReplyDeleteIt was the exact same near me. I made a return, as was another customer. The store was empty. The selection is awful as well since they put a huge Crewcuts section in and downsized the women's section. I went into Madewell which was so packed you could barely walk through and Lululemon was packed as well.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a trend. Same thing at the store closest to me. I was really disappointed to see how much space Crewcuts took away from the women's section. It's not worth the trip to the store, the women's section is so small now.
DeleteFree shipping today (Sun). But reviews seem to have disappeared from the mobile site. Happy Easter?
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter Everyone! No trip to the store this weekend for me, but my OOTD is featuring J Crew. I'm wearing the salmon colored Collection fringe suede skirt with the lemon crystal necklace & neon tassel earrings. I saw this skirt on Ema's IG (crazyaboutjcrew) and fell in love with it. Ema has a great sense of style and I was able to order from a NY store. It's been a great piece in my wardrobe. I posted pictures on my IG (peterst1).
ReplyDeleteMygoddy - weren't you the one that wanted to know how the cotton parka was like? I can't remember...
DeleteIf it was you, my review of it wasn't good. Ordered the XS. Sleeves were long on me. It felt one size too big. I have a feeling an XXS would've worked. (For reference, I'm 4'11, 36B, 26/P2 in pants). Not lined, and found the cotton fabric to be only meh. It didn't wow me. I guess it didn't help trying it on, since I was already feeling grumpy from work. I returned it yesterday. :-)
@JSR, yes, it was me. Really appreciate your feedback; I did order it to try it out; I wasn't that impressed either but I really need a casual raincoat for travel. I didn't have any fit issues as it was tts for me. I'm just over 5'8" & 36C; normally wear an 8/medium in JC. Keeping it for now; if I find something better, I will return. Looked at chateau trench, but I know it doesn't work for my purposes.
DeleteIt's snowing where I am today but I'm thinking spring I ordered the ITALIAN MATTE BIKINI got the regular bikini bottom with the PLUNGE V-NECK top in SWEET PERSIMMON. If it works I might go back for other colors...
ReplyDeleteReview of the metallic gingahm popover & Who What Wear for Target denim skirt on Gigi's Gone Shopping.
ReplyDeletemaryeb - I can't reply below your question. I take 4 or 6 in J. Crew. In the tops that have run larger in the past 2 years (e.g. crepe blouses), I've taken a 4.
ReplyDeleteI thought I might take a 4 in the metallic gingham because of the wider looking shoulders and under arms, but the 6 was good. The 4 also fit and looks better through the shoulders and arms, but not so much in the body.
I updated my post w/this info + chest & waist measurements for the 4 & 6. HTH
Thanks so much, Gigi!
