This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this
post) says it best, "You know, that thing you
bought because you love it and you keep pulling it
out and then putting it away without wearing it?"
Please
share your J.Crew item (either that you own or
are thinking about getting) that you would love help
creating an outfit with.
Also,
please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel
free to include links to your blog (where you
incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you
showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance!

Three reviews here - the Rayner chinos, Rayner wide leg jean in crescent & the stripe scarf that's on sale.

DeleteHas anyone, who is petite/regular, ever bought the Paley pant in a tall for a below ankle wear? I'm 5'4" and not into the cropped look, but I like a slim leg. I don't if the tall styles come with a higher rise or anything that might be problematic. I know I could get it altered to hit the top of my foot.
ReplyDeleteI am exactly your height and about a year ago ordered the Paley in my usual size except tall, and found them to fit pretty similar to the regular size except for the length. It was a pretty dramatic difference in length and I actually had to cuff them a bit when wearing the Dulci kitten heels but the cuff holds nicely and you might not need to do that with a taller heel. You can always ask customer service for exact measurements though. Hope this helps!
DeleteAnyone have the Martie pant in Bright Ocean? I order a pair this morning that popped back in my size in the sale section. I'm just wondering if the color is as vibrant in real life. I have a cashmere boyfriend pullover in that colorway & it is so pretty - but the pics I have found on the internet for the pants make the color look dull.
ReplyDeleteTaylor - the bright ocean should be vibrant. The lace top from last year is bright (review). It's possible the pants are a little darker because of the fabric, but I would still expect a bright color.
DeleteThanks, Gigi! I LOVE my cashmere sweater in BRO... maybe I'll wear the two together. Or maybe not.
DeleteHello Crew Ladies! This is OT has anyone seen and or tried on the striped shirtdress with geometric lace and the belted chino shirtdress?
ReplyDeleteI got my sailor Teddies today. I slipped them into the bathroom at work to try (couldn't wait until I got home). They fit. There isn't a full length mirror so I am not sure about how they bell out at the bottom but they do fit nicely at the top and through the thighs. I was really worried based on reviews and comments on here. So far so good.
ReplyDeleteLucky you! They didn't work on me. :( what color do you see the stripe? I see black. It matches my black shoes and shirt.
DeleteMine are solid navy wool.
DeleteOh, I got the striped ones, lol
DeleteDoesn't this kinda look like hospital garb?

cousy: Ina shared a picture of her wearing it on her IG account (I also shared a link to her photo on my blog post yesterday), and it is so adorable IRL...much better than the online pic portrays. :)
DeleteI believe it - Ina looks great, but not everyone can make that shirt look cool.
DeleteA bit of style inspiration via J.Crew with my own personal twist for a less spendy version of the look here: J.Crew Looks We Love... Shop It: The Real Deal or The Real Steal.
ReplyDeleteI also shared one of my recent outfits featuring several older J.Crew pieces in this post. :)
FYI ladies the Short-sleeve popover shirt in metallic gingham is back in stock, get while you can!
