This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopping
by a J.Crew store this weekend to see
what's available (if
anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in
person, maybe you might be
willing to share that with us in this
post. In particular, if you could
share with us a few of the
noteworthy items that are available, at
what prices, and potential sizes
the store is carrying (as well
as the store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also,
please let us know if your local store is
carrying an additional percent
off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S.
I noticed that many of
you have already been reporting sale
items (and in which stores) in
other posts which by the way "thank
you!" :) I really appreciate how
helpful we are for each other!
I recvd the grey ivory lace dress & the windowpane jacquard. I love them both! Detailed reviews on Gigi's Gone Shopping.
ReplyDeleteAt the moment, prices haven't flipped for Factory. You can get the sequin confetti tee in the crossover for a little less than $35 with YOUWIN.
I'll go in for returns and hope to grab a catalog. The December style guide is loading on Pinterest and the Men's things look very promising. I'm smitten with the Ludlow tartan jacket and pants! I really hope the Women's rollout is as exciting. I was so disappointed with the lack of sweaters in the last rollout. This is my favorite shopping season and I'm ready to spend irresponsibly - don't let me down J Crew!
ReplyDeleteI stopped in yesterday and a lot of the shelves were bare as they were preparing for Monday's rollout. I was kind of surprised to see that e-mail about a $25 gift card for $125 spent in-store this weekend, since there didn't seem to be much to buy!
ReplyDeleteI'm also liking a lot of the men's images - probably because Clement Chabernaud is one of my favorite male models JC has had in a while (he kind of reminds me of 1995 Rust Cohle, for those of you that are True Detective fans). However, JC managed to make him look crazy or pissed off in most of the images... so maybe that's why I'm seeing him as Rust more in this catalog than others? ; ) Anyway, happy Friday JCA's!

DeleteHoping we get something in that plaid I'm seeing in the mens/kids stuff.
DeleteWednesday I stopped at my store and was kindly given the December style guide. I was delighted to see a charming throw back to vintage J. Crew in their location shots and even some styles that seem more "classic" J. Crew. What puzzles me (and annoys me to no end) is that the two items that I'm really wanting are" online only". One of the garments is featured on the cover! Now to me it seems that designating a garment online only would not be a great selling factor, especially if they have chosen it to be on the cover. Why not make it accessible to everyone in the store? I would love to know the reasons behind which garments are chosen to be online only. I'm not familiar with the cut of either of these garments, so I'll be guessing on sizing. Plus the feel of the fabric is very important to me. It's very annoying. I liked a few things and look forward to seeing those....IN STORE!!! As usual I like all the men's clothing (my look is very androgynous) and I'm ordering myself the buffalo plaid shirt jacket. I'm hoping an XS will fit. I bought the last year's version for my husband and I'm jealous every time he wears it, so I decided I needed it too!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. I don't understand why J Crew uses images of clothing in their main promotions (like posters hanging in stores, covers of style guides) when the featured items are not available in stores! I am so disappointed when I go to my local store and can't find a single thing that I like from the style guide!
DeleteI totally agree. When the nice SA gave me the catalog we looked at it together and I commented on how much I like the cover look. He said "oh! The new things will be here next Wednesday!"......ummm.....he obviously didn't read that some of those items are online only. Geez. I'd like to order the pants to wear to Xmas parties (my first one is on 12-5) so I may have to order 2 sizes in hope that one fits and return one. Because I live on the west coast and it takes 7-9 days to get shipments I don't have the luxury of reordering especially if I want something pronto. OR.....I might just not bother. Right?! It would be so much easier to got into the store and buy them! Grrr!!!
DeleteThe clearance store for me...I went by my store the other day and the shelves at my store were bare as well. I did call and get the wool jackie cardigan in warm sepia that went on sale this past week. Somehow I missed that it went on sale but was able to locate one at the Rockefeller Plaza store myself after being told that there was not one to be had anywhere. Imagine that!!! I wanted the shell as well, but it is sold out and I believe it from this SA who can find anything. I am wearing the fresh parsley color today and I just really like this sweater and the gold buttons. I am wearing it over the gingham boy shirt in eggplant. Both were finds from the clearance store. I will be checking for more colors when I am there tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI just submitted a review to the website but I received the COLLECTION GRAPHIC PEONY PANT yesterday and am wearing them today. Styled here:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.polyvore.com/november_2015_friday_design_meeting/set?id=181427542
They fit like the other collection silk pants, which means a size 6 for me (same as the Martie but a size up from what I take in the Minnie and Campbell). The pants have no stretch and so are better suited to days with more standing than sitting and perfect for parties. The colors are amazing - saturated and brighter than they appear on my screen. Love that the pants are filled lined (J. Crew- please, please, do more pants with lining). Another nice touch is that the pockets have a little hidden zipper. I'm not a big fan of chambray but for those of you that are - these pants would be great with chambray.
So disappointed in J.Crew. The petite Regent topcoat in camel is sold out and I ordered that the first day it rolled out. I guess I'll be stalking for a pop back in my size.
ReplyDeleteJSR - sorry to hear about your topcoat. I hope you find a popback. With a promo code!
Deleteat home watching pinterest slowly load. not finding any "wow" items yet. white jeans, striped t's and yellow are not my idea of the holidays. but I do like how the models look in the items. the actual shoot...with alot of the white background and a sparkly tree looks under done and cheapish. the jewellery...as of late I do not like personally I can't pull off Big stuff. looks like clutches are in style but I already have a few....no need for more. I am under welmed but....there still is more to go....maybe a long sleeved dress.....pretty please J Crew.
ReplyDeleteNot much from the Pinterest images appeals to me so far. I still associate the holidays with rich jewel toned colours, not pastels. Oh well, with the higher prices for Canadians, I will look elsewhere to spend my money.
DeleteWere now at 87 pins....and I do not want a thing. lots of pink and grey and too many jeans now in too many washes to keep track of.
Deletelace skirt and lace twin set. shoes in different patterns....is there really anything new ? is the grey zipper wool
Deletetrench coat new ? this is like watching paint dry. it is not fully loaded yet...so there is hope for some good stuff ...
I've also been checking Pinterest, and have mostly been underwhelmed as well, but I am intrigued by the duffle coat in camel. It looks almost like a hybrid of the Chateau Parka, sans fur and last year's adorable Hooded Melton Bib Jacket, but with length! I don't need another coat, but I will definitely be checking this out!
DeleteI also love the image with the Buffalo Shirt Jacket, but why does J. Crew only do red-navy buffalo check!? Is it because they leave red-black to Madewell? And I did have to laugh at the model's pants -- I mean nothing says, "I'm on a boat!" like a pair of SUEDE leggings!
Agree with all of you! Yellow and pink for winter? Ick. The jewelry selection is the worst I've seen in a long time...and that's saying a lot. Lace skirts??? Ugh. I have my eye on 3 things.....2 are online only and I MOST likely will just not bother ordering them. Another rollout where the Crew isn't making any money off me. Oh and yah.....I saw the Buffalo Shirt Jacket and thought I liked it, but I have lots of red/navy so I think I'm going to look at the men's version instead. IF they have it in the store so I can see and feel it in person.
DeleteFactory - New reviews. Check out the buffalo check shirt-jacket and a snap of the plaid blanket throw on GIgi's Gone Shopping.
ReplyDeleteI'll have a review in a few hours of the confetti sequin stripe top.
Love the buffalo check on you, Gigi! I'm not really a scarf/throw type of person myself, but that is cute on you, too!
DeleteThanks, Vava. I'm wearing it today. It's very comfortable. Used the blanket at the movie theatre. lol
DeleteWhat a great idea - on the blanket throw!! I might need to pick one up too. :-)
DeleteTo be clear, the Factory plaid throw is a true blanket, not a blanket scarf. It's not meant to be worn like a fashion garment while walking around.
DeleteLenny Kravitz, aka stylist Cinna in the Hunger Games, would tell you otherwise . . . http://www.eonline.com/news/601270/remember-when-lenny-kravitz-wore-a-scarf-that-was-practically-a-huge-blanket-around-his-neck
DeleteThe stores are apparently moving sale merchandise around. My smaller store just got a bunch of stuff from the Green Hills store in Nashville which is much larger. Just more picked over stuff to me. The clearance store was packed today but scored a pair of Red Gemmas, some Madewell jeans and overalls (love their overalls) and a few sweaters. I think the Gemmas will be nice for holiday.
ReplyDeletemoving stuff around...doesn't fool me Mickey.
DeleteNot surprised Green Hills Mall had to ship out sale stuff. They are one of the stores that has recently gotten Crewcuts, and as a result has almost no room left for a sale section. 😢
DeleteI did not know that. I haven't been there since last fall. That is so disappointing, I used to love to shop their sale section and then go to Nordstrom for lunch.
DeleteYeah-the store has seemed to be going downhill for a while (staff turnover, messy/dirty store), and that was kind of the last straw for me. They seem to get fewer special/collection pieces now, too, sadly...
DeleteFactory - Review of the confetti sequin stripe top in S and M on Gigi's Gone Shopping.
ReplyDeleteIna (she's on Instagram) confirmed that sequins are on the back of the top, too.
Thanks for the link!!!
DeleteI'm actually seeing some items on Pinterest in the new roll out that really interest me, I'm hoping the quality of the sweaters are high in comparison to past years. The Fair Isle Excursion Vest looks like it will be super popular. {and probably excluded from promos}
ReplyDeleteI'm making a list from the December style guide too - especially interested to see the Sparkle Campbell Blazer and loving the shoes!
DeleteA review of the J. Crew Cocoon Coat in Windowpane Check HTH!
