The December style guide is starting to load on Pinterest (back to front, as usual. The cover image, or what I think is the cover, looks like a throwback to "Ye Olde JCrew of Yore". Woohoo!
ReplyDeleteThere is a girl on a red bicycle on the cover, her head and shoulders look overly large to me compared to the rest of her body, it is just the way the photo was taken but I would be curious to see if anyone else agrees. :)
DeleteThanks for the heads up silving_lining!

DeleteThanks silver_lining! :)
DeleteI caught a pair of the satin pull on pants, style E0163, in dark aubergine on pop back the other morning for like $25.00. I really like these pants. I was afraid that they would be thin and too satiny...but they are not. The color is darker and richer than pictured online, more of a brown than maroon. I was shocked to see that these pants were originally $158.00. What???They are 100% polyester. Had I bought them at full price, I would have paid $172.61 including tax. Yikes. I liked them so much I have ordered the icy orchid which I think will be nice with camel, navy, cabernet, etc.
ReplyDeleteOh nice! I hadn't noticed those before and they seem to have good reviews. They look like great pants to throw on when you want to dress up a little, without too much effort. The aubergine color you got was already sold out when I went to check them out, but the orchid color looks lovely. (I recently went down a size so I'm in the market for pants to replace previous ones.)
DeleteI was really happy because I was able to snag Item E2281, the Slim Cargo pant in stretch chino, in the barley color. I recently bought (and love!) this pant in the green color, but none of the others were popping up in my size until now. Score!

ReplyDeleteI know I am late to this post, as you are writing about the December guide, but, I just got the November style guide in store. I am very happy about the lovely dark green offerings. I wish more coats came in the dark forest- I already have a "Chateau Parka". There are some nice silk pieces, too.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I noticed a grammatical error on page 53 " Now in leopard (because we didn't think 15 colors was quite enough).
Yes, our favorite copywriter still has his/her job....
Another reason to shield the eyes of children n their formative years...
DeleteAgree with you on green . . . I purchased the Stadium Cloth Standing Collar Coat in Dark Forest last year. Such a great, wintery green that reminded me of the holidays. The Academic Green used for many items this season looks like the Pack Green from Fall 2013.
DeleteToo funny WFF!
DeleteI regretted not getting the stadium cloth coat in the dark forest last year- I had one in navy, Maybe this year!
This may have been mentioned before, but it's new to me -- the "News from your wishlist" emails I've been receiving lately that let me know that items on my wishlist have either gone on sale or are at the "only a few left" stage. I love this new initiative!
ReplyDeleteI just submitted a review to the website but I received the COLLECTION GRAPHIC PEONY PANT yesterday and am wearing them today. Styled here:

They fit like the other collection silk pants, which means a size 6 for me (same as the Martie but a size up from what I take in the Minnie and Campbell). The pants have no stretch and so are better suited to days with more standing than sitting and perfect for parties. The colors are amazing - saturated and brighter than they appear on my screen. Love that the pants are filled lined (J. Crew- please, please, do more pants with lining). Another nice touch is that the pockets have a little hidden zipper. I'm not a big fan of chambray but for those of you that are - these pants would be great with chambray.
Not a huge fan of J Crew lately. But wanted to just post my love for all my older J Crew clothes. Wearing a button down from 2007, Tippi (older) in Pack Green, CeCe ballet flats (older Made in Italy) and finally it got cold enough to break out my Double Cloth Slim Trench Coat. I bought 2 of them for a steal back in 2012 and they are timeless.
ReplyDeleteThose classic Ceces are the best.
