J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. The new pink and green Factory print (called Neon Pink): I saw 3" shorts and a perfect shirt at my Factory, and purchased the shirt. I am not quite ready to think about summer but I think this print is adorable! It is summery and loud and bright in a Lilly sort of way, so it definitely won't be for everyone. Fits TTS. I find sometimes that Factory prints are a little blurred and "duller" than Retail but this one is nice and crisp. Very resort and expensive-looking. It's already in my Spring Break pile :)

  2. Can anyone comment on how the Sperry authentic original boat shoes fit? I wear a 5.5 in the Janeys and Valentinas. Usually I go up half a size in casual shoes so I can wear socks. I have the Sperry bluefish boat shoes in 5.5, which I wear regularly with sock liners. If I add an insole, they still fit quite comfortably even with socks on. I think they are a little too long for my feet, but there wasn't a size 5 for me to try, so I kept them since I could tighten the laces to keep them on my feet. I tried the Bluefish in a size 6 and thought they looked obscenely long on my feet. Am I sized out of the Authentic Originals that JC currently offers?

    1. I ordered the metallics in Platinum Gold to try, so I will try to remember to report back on the fit. I normally wear an 8 and I ordered a 7.5 and an 8 to try.

  3. Parker suede boots:

    Nice style and good deal ($95 after promo) IMO but they were too roomy. I wear an 8.5 in most shoes, but have to size up to 9 in JC shoes and boots. I ordered the 9 and they were a little too big. Might have worked with very thick socks but then they would stretch out. I returned.

  4. Has anyone tried the Wyatt boots? I was a little surprised that JC released a new boot style in December, though maybe that means they will be way marked down in July! I'm pretty patient :). I like the look of these boots a lot but haven't seen them in-store.

  7. The Martie Ankle Boots fit the bill if you want a boot that is not overwhelming. I wanted a neutral color boot (cobblestone color) I could wear with black, brown, or blue and with a variety of different outfits, from jeans, skirts, dresses, etc. Fits me true to size. I am hoping to get the black in these boots as well. The black boots were marked down today, but not as low as the cobblestone color which is just under $100 after the discount.

  8. Boden Spring Preview is up. I usually buy one or two things per year from them, but this year might be different.

  12. Received the Chelsea Boot in black as a Christmas present and they are pretty darn gorgeous. The leather is smooth and glossy, the construction is solid, and I like the almond toe and leather/elastic gore. No pinching or other problem areas to report after an evening out. I wear an 8.5 in J.Crew heels, but these were a bit larger so I exchanged them for my usual 8. They are easy to slip on but take some work to remove, which might become less of an issue after they are broken in. I love that ankle boots are having a moment (I needed a style break from tall boots) and these Chelsea boots are classic.
