latest promotion? What are your thoughts on this sale? Are you loving the latest arrivals from J.Crew?
Up early in the morning, checking the sale rack. There is so much stuff on sale. The accessories started out with over 90 items, but in 15 minutes has gone down to 86. I'm sure it'll continue to drop. I finally got the Selima glasses, which I had been stalking for months, then picked up a few things for my son and husband. Happy hunting, everyone.
ReplyDeleteFrustrating that I placed an order the other day, haven't even received the items yet, and now it's a better discount. Luckily the rep I spoke with did agree to a price adjustment, "this time only" of course
ReplyDeleteHow is this available in stores? The 40%off is online only.
ReplyDeleteStores will honour online promos if you ask them.
DeleteI tried - they did honor it. Thanks!
DeleteI think if you just placed an order in the last day or two, you can definitely call and ask for an adjustment. I think they will likely give you one! :)
ReplyDeleteBTW, it doesn't show up in regular sale, but the calf hair clutch is on sale, so you can get the 40% off on it!
I added the promo code GIFTNOW but cant see the discount!
ReplyDeleteCollection featherweight cashmere drop-shoulder boyfriend sweater on sale for $99.99 comes to $59.99 with code...This was under the sweater section in sale this morning but is now gone, but still comes up with the item #49670 search, http://www.jcrew.com/index.jsp?bmForm=search_topnav&bmFormID=kbUGPd7%2F1430afdd2e7&bmUID=kbUGPd8&bmIsForm=true&bmPrevTemplate=%2Findex.jsp&bmText=searchTerm&searchTerm=49670&bmSubmit=findIt&findIt=GO&bmHidden=PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441824108
ReplyDeletePure ingenue, you get the "best JCA" award this week in my book. That pear bracelet you mentioned yesterday does not show up anywhere, unless you search for it specifically. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteAww thanks JRS lol. I don't know what's going on with their site...things pop up then disappear then pop back up again! Now the sweater is back under the sweater sale section again!
DeleteYES on the Pear Bracelet! I tried it on in store a few weeks ago and it is lovely. It's $15 now after the 40%. I just bought 3. Gifts :)
DeleteHow big is it? Is it big and chunky or at least medium to smaller in size? Thanks.
DeleteIt's chunky IMO
DeleteOT: Has anyone noticed items disappearing from your wishlist? Usually when something goes out of stock, it just goes into the "out of stock" tab. However, I've had a couple of items completely disappear. Weird, huh?
ReplyDeleteSnatched the colorblock funnel coat in 2 sizes for try-on, wool panel sweater in black, and the perfect foulard shirt. Love the 40% off, free shipping, and not final sale! :)
ReplyDeleteI ordered the Hughes Satchel in pale graphite last night at 5pm obviously I was annoyed this morning when I saw the new promo but I just got off the phone with customer service and they gave me a price adjustment no questions asked so I saved another 22 dollars. I snagged the Merino Pocket Tunic size xxs in grey this morning which I have wanted for awhile.
ReplyDeleteThere are new promo-priced items & markdowns today, plus there were a lot of new markdowns earlier this week, too (all of which now receive an extra 40% off). I've updated the list which can be seen here. To see the list of additional promo-priced items & markdowns click here. Enjoy your day everyone! :)
ReplyDeleteOrdered some skirts and dresses in super 120s fabric. Wondering about the fabric, is it quality like "old" jcrew or the "new" jcrew standard?
ReplyDeleteIf you can, please report back when your order arrives. I loved the older super 120s, but stopped ordering them a year or so ago because the fabric seemed thinner and the fit changed (noticeably larger in the hips). Hope this has changed and the pieces work well for you!
DeleteThere are a few items in my wishlist but I'm hesitant to pull the trigger - what if tomorrow they do 50% off sale for cardholders or something? (I have no inside info - just speculating.) Stuff that was a certain price on Monday got a cut by Tuesday/Wednesday (with an additional 30%) and now is an additional 40%? I may just return my recent orders and not bother re-ordering or asking for a PA. It all just seems like too much of a hassle. I guess I'm just annoyed at all the bouncing prices/sale roulette and need to take a JC break.
ReplyDeletesilver lining, I understand your pain but I finally had to get over that feeling from JCrew and other retail stores. Otherwise, I would have gone nuts. I don't do the price/return/exchange or whatever. I just decide to be happy with the price I paid b/c it was good at the time and move on...life is too short......
DeleteGenny - I'm trying that same strategy. I bought the gold stripe mini a week ago for 30% off, now it is marked down plus 40% off. I contemplated a return/rebuy this morning but I'm so swamped, I just don't have time. I have to be happy that I got the skirt and look forward to wearing it soon.
DeleteMe too. Just purchased an expensive item yesterday with a 30% off. I paid an extra ~$16 to buy yesterday vs today.
DeleteMakes me angry.
They honored a price adjustment for me this AM on two collection pieces I bought yesterday which were already deeply marked down even at 30%, and discounted them further to 40%. I wasn't expecting it but she was very nice about it and never gave me a hard time. Might be worth calling to see if they'll honor the further discount.
DeleteI placed two orders the other day at 30% off which I haven't yet received. I emailed CS to request the additional 10% off under the current 40% sale, and they honored my request no questions asked. Great service!
DeleteIt would be nice if they gave you instore credit even for a price adjustment. That is what Boden does and I am fine with that. Got $15+ in Boden credit that never expires just this week.
DeleteLInk here for the pear bracelet at $24.99 + 40%.
ReplyDeleteI was able to get a couple of sweater popbacks that of course I needed for $79.99 + 40%. Not being a huge fan of the rollouts, being picky and waiting finally paid off.
You're invited to visit the Sale Irl Pic Guide for new cuts & in-store price info.
Ladies how are your 12 gauge cashmere sweaters holding up with regards to pilling? I keep wanting to buy but am afraid :(
ReplyDeleteI've not had any issues with the 12-gauge LS cashmere tees (2011-13 versions). I wear them quite a bit and wash in the delicate cycle. And I'm much too lazy to store them in tissue paper. :)
DeleteI bought a navy cashmere turtleneck a few weeks back that I had wanted in my wardrobe for 2 years. Finally bought on a 30% promo. The quality of the cashmere was PATHETIC for the original price. Kept it in the end because I wanted the sweater. The quality of the cashmere is no where near past years. Just be warned...
DeleteThank you both, perhaps I will pass...
DeleteAny reviews on the cashmere pocket tunic? Wondering if it fits similar to the merino pocket tunic?
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteI just received the merino pocket tunic and the cashmere pocket tunic - both in Medium, which are HUGE. They're not bad if you want a casual baggy look, but you might wish to size down, particularly in the cashmere, if you want a less baggy look. I actually prefer the merino - it drapes much nicer and doesn't look so oversized. The cashmere is a larger gauge, and I prefer the tighter weave of the merino. The cashmere sleeves are about 2-2.5 inches longer than the merino, and the bottom hem is about 2-2.5 inches shorter than the merino. The pockets on the cashmere sort of gap out a little bit creating a not-so-flattering belly silhouette. Given the price difference and my preference for the merino pocket, I'm returning the cashmere pocket tunic.
DeleteOh, the width of the sweaters are about the same, but the merino doesn't look as wide/bulky on because it's heavier and drapes better. The cashmere tends to pouf out a bit and look wider.
DeleteThe merino pocket tunic is streamlined and tailored looking. The cashmere pocket sweater has a slouchy, casual fit. I have both and like them for different reasons/occasions.
DeleteI love the collection cashmere pocket tunic, just put a review up with some fit picks. I took my tts and didn't size down.
DeleteJ. Crew Collection cashmere pocket tunic review
After a long Crew hiatus, I finally bit... got the keeper chambray shirt in star dot (yay for petite sizes for my T-Rex arms) and the pear bracelet.
ReplyDeleteI know. I had to get my daughter and ivory Crewcuts cardigan for only $19.50. She needs it for school and church.
DeleteGood to see you, disco george. I LOL'd at "T-Rex arms"!
DeleteDisco George, I too was excited about the chambray shirt in petite but i never even tried it on. See my review, hope mine was a defective one and yours is better.
DeleteDoes anyone know if this free shipping will get items in by Christmas?
ReplyDeleteWhen I placed an order today the free shipping option says "delivery by 12/24".
DeleteAN - I believe all orders placed by 12/21 will be received by 12/24.
DeleteMy order said you will not receive it by Christmas, so I would guess it is pretty accurate if it said it would…barring any major storms of course. I have had all my packages held up for atleast 2 extra days due to weather this week.
DeleteI ordered something from factory yesterday morning. My tracking said it's scheduled to be delivered by tomorrow! It was free too, so we shall see if the package arrives on said date!
DeleteI ordered on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and got all three boxes today, Friday. Pretty amazing for free shipping via UPS.
DeleteYep - I bit on this. 3 items for me, 3 for the bambini. All of them staples. Prices seems fair enough, and nothing is FS.
ReplyDeleteA few days ago someone here mentioned "blazing" markdown guns - no kidding! There are sale items - even Collection pieces, that are 80% off. (Rare, Special and Entirely Worth It????)
I found the star bracelet in my store and it was $20 after discount!
ReplyDeleteIf anybody is looking for the star neclace they still had some left.
They were also well stocked in open cardigans,in star shirts and lots of other stuff.
Is the star necklace on sale? My brother just bought it last week but it was full price and then the 30% off.
Deleteyes, its on sale for 69 dollar.
DeleteThanks Ina. I meant is the bracelet on sale?
DeleteIts on sale for $29 plus the 30% off!
DeleteReview here of the Ceces in tawny sand. As of yesterday, they were $10 cheaper online than in-store.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know how the crinkle stripe shirt fits? Oh, and the Crinkle boy shirt in black check? I'm a 6, but the new blackwatch shirt was a tad snug in the chest area in a 6 and not sure I should size up in these two shirts.
ReplyDeleteI reviewed the crinkle boyshirt in black check on my blog in the post on okt the 23rd.
DeleteIt fits TTS,i just tried it today,it is very nice!
HTH
I also tried the crinkle boyshirt,it is TTS.
DeleteWhat i didnt like about the shirt was the pleating on the chest and at the sleeves,if that makes sense.
The navy was more a washed out grey.
HTH
I meant crinkle stripe boyshirt!
DeleteThanks so much. Both reviews are a huge help!
DeleteThe Andie chino in Fatigue was on sale last night, so I ordered it with the additional 40%. This morning it's back to full price.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone tried the Cocoon Coat in Petite sizing? I'm 5'4", and the 2 fits. Would a Petite 4 fit similarly? I'm mainly concerned about body length. I wouldn't mind slightly shorter sleeves. Thanks!
I grabbed the Andie chino in fatigue too. not sure why that color went back up. I would like to hear about petite sizes for the cocoon coat, too!
DeletePrice discrepancies are in huge effect. Just scored toothpick cords for $29.99 and black watch plaid shirt for $45 both before 40% off. I had to ask the store to match the 40% off sale though so watch out.
ReplyDeleteI agree, some items that have been on sale for ages were back to full price as of this am.
Delete$45 for the blackwatch shirt?! was this in store? I cant stand how much more we pay, what a 100 KM from Buffalo!
DeleteYes - in store. I paid $30 for the black watch shirt in the end, and $17 for the toothpick cords. Both are still about $79 online (less 40%). It sucks if you aren't near a store.
DeleteI'am so confused I called the Robeson st store in Vancouver and got 20% off sale plus 30% total? But that made it final sale. So now my black watch plaid shirt came to about 20$. I am so afraid to get my package in case it's some huge misunderstanding lol!!!

ReplyDeleteSnagged another pair of the Wool Track Racing Stripe Pants. They are so warm and comfy!
ReplyDeleteMore reviews here --
ReplyDelete* Jackie cardigan ($29.99 in-store sale colors)
* cabled sweatshirt (cheaper in-store)
* double-zip colorblock sweater (cheaper in-store),
* stripe painter tee w/jeweled brooch (same in-store & online)
& deep ivy plaid shirt (cheaper in-store)

DeleteUnknown - I send an email to you :)
DeleteGigi, do you remember which colors of the Jackie were $29.99?
DeleteTRO (tea rose?) and SGR (sea green). The pics of the colors are in the post. :)
DeleteTotally missed the link at the top of your comment. Total duh moment!
DeleteI haven't been shopping at JCrew much the past few months but peeked at the site yesterday. I bought two collection pieces, the antique floral top and the iced paisley cafe pants, they were insanely cheap and seemed unique and special to me, which is mostly what I'm purchasing these days. I am well stocked up on the basics so mainly adding unique (and usually colorful pieces) to my wardrobe. I am obsessed with prints and color and these looked beautiful. They aren't final sale so no risk either.
ReplyDeleteWas at a factory store earlier today and saw LOTS of J. Crew retail items on the women's side; can't report on the men's side. I guess the factory stores are emptying their merchandise, so the regular stores are shipping stuff over. Got some good deals with the 50% off, then 20% off stacked discount today.
ReplyDeletestarting to slowly put up more reviews. put some reviews up for cashmere stuff ive tried recently. reviews for:
ReplyDelete-collection cashmere tiny sequin sweater
-collection cashmere dolman sweater
-collection leather front merino cardigan
-collection cashmere pocket tunic
all of those reviews are on my sweater page, found HERE
I didn't buy anything this morning...but was at my B&M last night - the matchstick jeans in clean rinse wash were $49.99 with 30% off. The schoolboy blazers in pack green, the orange colorway and I believe the light grey were all marked $69.99 before the 30% off. Great deal for the blazers, considering calling back about the dark green. Not sure if other colors had been marked down.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone sees the foulard popover in a 6 or 8 let me know! I've been searching! Katherine.h.reardon@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI saw several of these shirts at Tysons Corner (VA) on Sunday. That's been several days but you may want to check it out...
Deleteits online right now!
DeleteI think i also seen it at the East Cobb Avenues in Georgia.HTH
I am actually really mad I ordered the Hughes Satchel in grey two days ago and the order was cancelled yesterday around 5 and the reason given was "out of stock". Well you can buy the bag on the website it isn't out of stock so I called customer service to complain and ask why it was cancelled and they could not provide a reason and I was forced to place a second order and they gave me free shipping to receive it Monday who knows if it will ship because it hasn't yet.
ReplyDeleteI just posted a review of tbe Collection pant in crepe (05285) under the Review thread for anyone interested in giving them a try before final sale comes back. With the 40% off they are less than $50. I don't know why they didn't sell out at that price but I really like them. They fit TTS to big depending on your waist size (tgey are a bit high-waisted).
ReplyDeleteEma, did you change your blog address? The last entry I'm able to see when I click your link is the Moroccan earrings post back in October. Thank you. I miss reading your posts.
Deletecmg - Ema is here on Instagram.
DeleteI had a kick at the no minimum shipping no final sale but the pricing games and price discrepances are tirening. I had to order the elbow-patch sweater online paying fp knowing that it is on sale in store. My size is completely sold-out in the stores so the SA suggested that I buy it fp online since it was available and I bring it to the store to get the price adjustment. Fine but it could be easier. Plus I can do it because in NYC we get two day shipping on almost every order but otherwise there wouldn't be enough time between the time the order is placed and the order is delivered to get a price adj (not to mention if one lives far away from a store).
ReplyDeleteOT: For those interested, Madewell is also offering 30% Off sitewide with code TOYOU until 12.24.13. Shipping is free on all orders, too. There are a lot of new Promo-Priced items this week that are an even better deal with the extra 30% off. I've compiled the list of them here.
ReplyDeleteAs I mentioned previously, there were a lot of new markdowns at J.Crew this week, as well as many new promo-priced items, too. You can see the list of the most recent markdowns & promo items here and the additional markdowns & promo items here .
It is so ridiculous that those Hugh Guinness shirts aren't included in any promo and they continue to ask for $50. For a t-shirt! It's just not worth it and I don't know anyone who thinks it is.
ReplyDeletesomehow stumble upon Edie tricolor purse while googling review for the edie purse. It doesn't show up on the sale section but can be found via item #32632. it's 99.99 before applying the 40% off which makes it only 59.99!!! debating to get it or not..I can't justify why I need more than one Edie purse (got the quilted version in the mail today)
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this, I grabbed one today with the 40% off. I hardly ever (if ever) have seen an Edie go that cheaply. Hopefully it isn't a system glitch and it arrives. I love the three color look of it, very striking. Thanks!
DeleteSo fun finding all these "hidden" sale items!
ReplyDelete
