This is the weekly "Other JCrew-like Retailers" post (similar to the "Off On A Tangent"
posts), where we can share our finds from other
retailers that have offerings similar to J.Crew
(like Anthropologie, LE Canvas, Gap, BR, Talbots, Ann
Taylor, and the like.)
If you
have recently encountered items that are similar to
J.Crew, maybe you might be
willing to share that information with us
in this post.
Please feel
free to share your story on almost any topic—
including experiences with certain merchandise pieces,
promotions/ offers, in-store visits,
transactions with store associates, etc.
This is OT, but I completely misplaced my 20% off coupon that I had been saving to order a sweater from this last rollout. If anyone has one that they aren't using, would you consider emailing it to me? I'd be incredibly grateful! My email is alison.orley@gmail.com. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI like this blouse from Zara as an alternative to the Merino Leather-Pocket Sweater.
ReplyDeleteLauraK - I was going to order that Zara top, but decided against it. I thought the pockets were too big, too high up and would put a spotlight on an area where I don't need it. It looks very cute, though.
DeleteA few Gap reviews here and Anthro here.
ReplyDeleteAlso OT - Looks like J Crew Factory is offering a 25% off coupon via Gilt. It is good through 9/15. You can access the offer by clicking here.
ReplyDeleteI like Ann Taylor's Colorblocked Silk Blouse as an alternative to the Silk boy blouse with contrast trim (currently on final sale for $89.99).
ReplyDeleteI've never seen an Ann Taylor item not eventually go on sale (and usually every few months or so, AT will have an additional 60% off sale items), so I think if this shirt were to dip below $60ish, it'd be a good purchase. The silk is very soft, probably better than J Crew's. Only criticism I have is that it doesn't come in petite sizes, so the sleeves are too long for me.
I have two codes for 40% off one full-priced item at Banana Republic that I will not be using. They are good for today only.

I just got a pair of Gap skinny high rise jeans and I love them. I'm 4 months postpartum and still carrying about 10 extra pounds. They are the first pair of jeans I've tried on since the baby that don't make me want to run away from the mirror screaming. I don't love the wash - it's a little uniform and saturated for my taste, but I can live with it because the fit is great. They hit at my belly button and hold everything in (including my thighs) very nicely.
ReplyDeleteAfter venturing into Madewell and falling in love with SO many Fall items, I did a quick Google search. Turns out they have a new head designer, Somsack Sikhounmuong! He makes some interesting points, like wanting to expand the age-range they target.
