I did so. The sale section was reduced a further 30%. Lots of polka dot clutches, colorblock clutches, polka dot capris (the brown with white polka dots) on sale.

I was there as well. Yes, there was at least 1 polka dot clutch, and there were quite a few Festival Blue and Spicy Gold pencil skirts ($69.99 before 30% off). Did not note the price on the polka dot capris. The additional 30% off will make it final sale. Call the store at 604-684-2367, and ask to do a charge/send if the size/price is right.

ReplyDeleteAt retail, I bought the Polka-Dot Sequin Top in black and the Cafe Capri in Tiny Dots. I'll be going back in today to try to get a price adjustment, though-- after I got home I realized (thanks to another JCA) that the polka dot top had been marked down. And I paid full price (minus the student discount). Wish me luck. It'd be great if they gave me sale price + 30% off + 15%, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
Sale selection at the 5th Ave location was kind of meh. Lots of shoes but none in my size. Lots of lady jackets in the bright pink color (if they had had navy, I'd have been ON it). They did have about three Little Edies in the yellow color and two in the grey for $130 (before any other discounts).
At Factory I got a pair of black Winnies, one pair leggings and a plaid flannel shirt that's sold out online. And just about everything in the store was 40% off. It was awesome.
Went to Factory, the puffin/scottie sweaters were 40% off! And so was pretty much everything else. Some stuff was even 50% incl. the wool skimmers. Got the plaid but considering returning them, they aren't so flattering on!
ReplyDeleteI just bought my first piece of Jcrew cashmere, the Isabel sweatshirt. I noticed that the label says hand wash or dry clean. I was wondering what other people are doing with their cashmere. Do you have better results with hand washing or dry cleaning? Thanks.

ReplyDeleteJulia and cuckoo, I wash all my cashmere in a front loading HE washing machine with the laundress cashmere soap using the hand wash/delicate cycle. I then lay the sweaters flat to dry.I have had nothing but excellent results. I feel like the cashmere is softer and cleaner than with dry leaning. I hope this helps!
DeleteI hand wash using whatever conditioning shampoo is on hand -- Herbal Essences, Origins, doesn't matter! Wool is just hair, and the conditioner helps make my sweaters soft and fluffy.
DeleteI use Dryel for my sweaters. Much cheaper than dry cleaning and easier than handwashing.
ReplyDeletere: Cashmere care, to paraphrase another poster, "nothing like dipping your cashmere sweater in a (planet-killing) vat of perchlorate to fry up those delicate fibers". I handwash mine, usually just at the end of the season before storage. I fill up one side of the sink with water/woolite, then the other side with just water for rinsing. I start with the lightest colours first, wash, then rinse out, then roll them in a dry towel to squeeze excess water out. I go through maybe 4-5 pieces before I drain out the dirty water and start with clean water. I've done that for the last few years with my hand-me-downs from mom and Jcrew cashmere, and had excellent results. The sweaters come up nice and fluffy (and nicer than brand new IMO).
ReplyDeleteI also hand wash in cold water. I swish the sweater around gently but only let it sit in the water for a few minutes or the color might begin to run, then rinse well (its happened to me before with J Crew Cashmere). Like Closet Crisis, I use a towel to squeeze excess water out then lay flat to dry. I use one of the eco friendly laundry detergent with lavender, like Eco brand or Seventh Generation. I think that the lavender might help to repel moths. Anyway, it can't hurt and smells really nice.

I actually wrote all about it on my own blog and included all the info I thought others might want to know, like prices and what they have, etc. I couldn't find hardly any info before I went, so I hope this is helpful to you guys!

DeleteI had my eye on the green mini-brompton before it sold out online, so I trackd it down at my local store (F street in DC) and they honored the online sale price + the extra 30% off!!
