This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopping
by a J.Crew store this weekend to see
what's available (if
anything!) in the FALL sale, or to see some new FALL/WINTER
arrivals {sigh!} in
person, maybe you might be
willing to share that with us in this
post. In particular, if you could
share with us a few of the
noteworthy items that are available, at
what prices, and potential sizes
the store is carrying (as well
as the store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also,
please let us know if your local store is
carrying an additional percent
off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S.
I noticed that many of
you have already been reporting sale
items (and in which stores) in
other posts which by the way "thank
you!" :) I really appreciate how
helpful we are for each other!
Here are some of the things I got at 30% off for the Black Friday sale. Woo-hoo!
ReplyDeletehttp://handbagaficionado.blogspot.com/2012/11/jcrew-2012-black-friday-holiday-shopping.html
Quite likely I will visit this weekend.
ReplyDeleteHope JCAs had a great Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteReview of the lace-printed sweatshirt in this post.
I did - especially with 30% off!
DeleteI tend to stay away from stores during Black Friday madness, I prefer to shop online. I picked up the black and spearmint bubble necklaces, they are on promo right now for $120 plus cardmember 30% off = a good score. Happy shopping everybody!
ReplyDeleteHi JCAs..Hope everyone had a rested and beautiful Thanksgiving with love ones. I usually stay away during Black Friday, I prefer to shop online. If it was 40% FP, then I would probably would go out.
ReplyDeleteOT: Has anyone reviewed the Wool-Cashmere Peplum Coat in Camel? I was searching it here and on Google with no luck.
I have seen it at my local B&M, but didn't bother to try it on. Question - Is it that bad of a design that it would be on sale? I think its a unique design, and kind of liking it. I'm considering it because of the promo..I guess if it didn't work out, I could always return it.
I guess my only concern with the coat, since its not offered in Petite sizes, the added peplum might be overwhelming for my stature-I'm 4'11. But when I saw it IRL, it wasn't a bulky coat, which was nice..

DeleteHmm, I think maybe Ema did - my Closet my Baby and I blog.
DeleteI know I've seen it on someone. It did look awfully fussy with the very odd peplum design.
Thanks Tabitha. I will check Ema's blog.
DeleteI tried on the peplum coat today. I wasn't impressed. Will put up a review late tonite or tomorrow, Sat.
DeleteYes, I did try it and posted pics. I didn't like it because it isn't defined enough at the waist (it stayed away from the body) and with the peplum it added weight. Maybe I should have sized down (I tried my regular coat size which is the largest of my JCrew sizes). The fabric is nice though, if not the warmest.
DeleteReview of the peplum coat in this post.
DeleteThanks for the reviews, ladies. That Peplum Coat is a disappointment.
DeleteI'm still looking for that unique coat in camel. Maybe I will just keep an eye on the Bow Coat in Heather Acorn, hopefully it wont sell out in my size if it goes on sale.
I'll be visiting the Toronto, Eaton Centre location, and hoping for a well stocked sale section! Also hoping that they'll honour the 25% off promo!
ReplyDeleteI can confirm it's 25% off at the store, but the sale section isn't great.
DeleteThanks, teeny84! That's too bad about the sale section. I was hoping to pick up a couple more no. 2 pencil skirts and maybe a blouse or two on sale. Oh, well.
DeleteI was there yesterday and they had a couple of the pencil skirts left in a variety of sizes (ie, this season's green one in a few small sizes and some large ones, but maybe one of each of those sizes). Lots of the plaid shirts, sequin polka dot top, optic dot shirts and some sleeveless silk tops. Tons of belts, some shoes. Overall, not a terrible sale section, but not the best. Just inconsistent with respect to sizes.
DeleteExcellent! I'm a size 0 so maybe I'll luck out!! Thanks again!
DeleteCould not get the cardmember 30% off to work for online checkout. Gave up. Any suggestions? And. Yes. I did have the right form of payment checked. Rhx.
ReplyDeleteMine didn't work when I entered it the first time, reinterred it after checking the JC card, and it worked. Go figure. Try again because ebates is 10% today.
ReplyDeleteWas I supposed to mention the 30% off promo when I checked out at my B&M? They only gave me 25% off even though I paid with my J.Crew card. Debating whether I should go back again to ask for an adjustment.
ReplyDeleteThey are supposed to ask you, they have to enter a different code, it doesn't come up automatically.
DeleteThanks, Ema! That's a bit irritating... I guess I'll swing by there later and ask for an adjustment.
DeleteI went to Rockfeller Center this morning (I know, I must be masochist but I was at Saks before, which was complete madness, so...)
ReplyDeleteThe sale section was hit or miss, a lot of stuff but in a few sizes. I got the leopard print perfect shirt that is on sale for $69 before 25% off (I love that print) and the new Dublin tartan mini (do not size up in this one, I usually size up to a 2 in minis but this one fit better in a 0 and it wasn't too short on me but I am 5'2"). It felt a bit polyester-y but the tag says 100% wool, go figure. Very cute for Xmas and it pairs easily with navy, red and green. Nothing else caught my eye. They have overabundance of plaid shirts IMO and I am sure they will be discounted soon. They have a new one in a very bright blue/red check combo, which is heavier thant the other ones (almost outdoors-y). Oh and a new tee with a big apple on it. Yes, apples for Xmas this year.
Ema did you see the new critter sweater with the cat on it? I really wanted to snag it with the discount, but I'm in NJ and it wasn't in the Short Hills store this week :(
DeleteYes, they have it. It should be in all the NYC stores.
Deletethanks!! maybe i'll go when i'm back tomorrow or Monday if they extend the offer!
Deletewent to the factory store in Paramus where everything was 50% off we also got add'l student discount with my daughters grad school ID I was surprised
ReplyDeleteI went to the Factory store in Arundel Mills in MD and got 50% off and plus my student discount also. I got a silk shirt, pencil skirt and a pink gingham button up. Great!
DeleteI am heading to the sample sale at the clearance center in Lynchburg!
ReplyDeletewellfedfred, Thanks but I did try multiple times, several times today. I want to order online b/c of ebates so JCrew just lost a sale b/c of their stupid new page/website not working properly. I have never had trouble with a code in YEARS.
ReplyDeleteI went and everything was just 'meh' to me. I bought a couple of thermal he lets since they were at a great price (promo plus 25%), and a gift but nothing was exciting. I'll order some faves for The Boy online tonight but that's it. I'll hold out until January Spring arrivals. Even my PS said they were asked why things weren't moving.
ReplyDeleteI did stop by, after skipping JC on my recent shopping forays, and got the Excursion vest in herringbone print and the Frenchie sweater (my store still has a stack, all sizes): I liked how they looked together and will take them to Tahoe together for the holidays. However, later I realized the vest is down (duh) and I am (generally) allergic to down so I need to wear it at home to see if it bothers me... I have a different down jacket from JCrew and it usually doesn't bother me though it leaks feathers (?!). I had bought that jacket in both black and green and when I could see it was down (due to leaking feathers), I returned the unworn black one... hope vest doesn't leak!
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I actually thought I would go to the mall yesterday and try on the Polka Dot Sequin top. Yah...right. I couldn't get within a mile of the mall...lines and lines of stopped traffic hoping to find parking spots. It was nuts. So I ordered both colors in medium of the polka dot sequin top, the poppy/navy sequin sweater and the classic link necklace. I'm prepared that the sequin tops won't fit due to the small sleeve, narrow shoulder fit JC likes to use. Maybe by Sunday I can get to the mall and try the things on. Then I'll know if I ordered the wrong sizes. ARG!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone think it'll be worth waiting for Jcrew's cyber monday sale? Will the promotion be better than 25% off and free shipping over $150?
ReplyDeleteErica, the current promo ends tomorrow. My guess is they will extend it for Monday. As Ema shared here or another post, we might see shipping no minimum or something like that. It's unlikely it will get higher than the current % offered. They could do 30% off sitewide for everyone, but that would piss off people who ordered at 25%.
DeleteWe'll see...
I agree that they will probably extend the current promo through Monday and will add the free shipping no minimum.
DeleteWhat code does one need to use to get the 30%? I still haven't received the e-mail, which is annoying. TIA
ReplyDeleteRose it's CARDMEMBER for 30% off with your J Crew card thru tomorrow.
DeleteThanks, Gigi!
DeleteHas anyone seen the 3/4 sleeve navy striped beaded tee? I keep eying it...
ReplyDeleteYes, I ordered it. It's very cute. Similar shape as the Loomknit sweatshirt (which I didn't like on me), but the length seems better. I'm not worried about shrinking it because I won't put it in the dryer with the beading. The beading goes around the back too and it's on the body but not on the sleeves.
DeleteReview of the crystal-encrusted bracelet $54.99 online, regular price in-store, in this post.
ReplyDeleteReview of the velvet-dot ponte top in this post.
Deletepoor little collection stores were empty, they weren't included in the promo...
ReplyDeleteI was good (and boring). I bought the navy stovepipe trousers, marked down to 59.99, and a navy tippi. I'm trying to be good as I have 2 birthdays and Christmas, plus I'm still trying to recover from a new water heater and 2 new tires. I wasn't impressed with anything in my b&m. I would like to see the sequin sweater IRL.
ReplyDeleteFinished with my JC purchases online. No.2 Pencil in Antique White, Waffle Henley in Stripe Navy, Grey Tartan Shirt, Wool-Cashmere Peplum Coat, knit cap and Ribbed Tights using the 25% promo.
ReplyDeleteand then I decided to use my J.Crew card tonight after 3 years of not using it, just so i can apply the 30% promo-I decided to order the cocoon coat in green since its already on waitlist.
I have been obsessing over that and the Peplum coat, I will decide between the two to see what works.
I know I should've used the 30 on my first order. Tsk tsk...Im so indecisive.
Sharing of a review of a retail only silk bow print top...with a bow in this post.
ReplyDeleteClassic pave link bracelet, Opera earrings, and cord matchsticks from the sale rack.
ReplyDeletePosted about it all here: http://what-i-bought-today-tc.blogspot.com/
J. CREW--- stop this promotion before I go broke!
Does anyone know the in-store price on the Collection skirt in photo floral? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to share an interesting NY Times article over the weekend by Cathy Horyn. Link is here: http://nyti.ms/Tk2MLj She might as well be talking about Jcrew & the disconnect between runway and actual sales. Lose the focus on what's trendy & hip. The fashionistas don't keep your B&Ms hopping, we do (or used to). I have stopped going to the stores because I don't like not buying anything from the awesome SAs. It must be so hard for them to push the unappealing but expensive merchandise. The design this fall was too heavy-handed & trying too hard to be clever. I thought Horyn's concluding statement was spot-on: "...true excitement and creativity on the runway is often something that is quite simple or refined, and almost invisible in its effort. The rest is excess."
ReplyDeleteOT, I have a $100 off $300 code for Coach that I will not be using. Good through 11/28. Femme55@hotmail.com for first person that emails. If I don't respond that means it's taken.
ReplyDeleteCode claimed.
DeleteGosh, I went back to another J.Crew (Bellevue Square) and got more stuff at 30%.
ReplyDeleteI got the the Café Capri In Tiny Dots - does anyone have them and how do you style them?
I also got more of those boatneck tees with snap on final sale.
I went to the Columbia store and got the Excursion vest and Schoolboy blazer in Navy with 30% off.
ReplyDeleteI got the green cuordoroy bow print pants (on sale online, not in store, so had to insist on correct pricing) farmyard animal sweater and navy sequin top (factory). I'm going to wear everything all together.
ReplyDeleteJust kidding.
The pants work out to around $55-I think they will be fun for the holidays.
Very funny, Carolyn
ReplyDeleteAny speculations on Cyber Monday for JCrew?

ReplyDeleteWow, thanks! Already many, many sold out styles and sizes!
DeleteThank you, Dina for passing this along. That is a really great deal! I finally ordered the Glamour Tweed skirt that you reviewed a while back and a pair of skinny cord jeans.
DeleteI deleted my comment above because the glitch was fixed. Looks like a TON sold out during the period of the glitch, though...wonder what will be left for Boden's end of season clearance sale. Hmmm...
ReplyDeleteOT: I picked up the J.Crew Holiday 2012 '101 Gift Ideas' Catalog while at the store today. I have scanned part of the women's and men's sections, and posted them here on my blog.
