As many of you already know, the brick & mortar stores tend to offer better deals. So if you live nearby, it is worth checking out beforehand.
Will you be taking advantage of this promo? Are you loving the new Factory site from J.Crew? Did you pick up an item or two? Please share! :)
This is nice, and maybe needed because I suspect their online Factory sales are way down after separating the Factory web site from the Retail web site.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I was so bummed out that now the factory site is separate from the main website and I wasn't able to do the extra 25% off. Now I can and I can start my Christmas shopping. Yippie!
ReplyDeleteThis is great! I agree with Cate that it is probably because sales have dropped since the separation, which most of us have been unhappy about. Factory had a bunch of really great new items up yesterday. I placed a pretty large order - hoping it all fits :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, as we discussed in the past - factory skimmers are similar to the cafe capri but are lined!
I know that there's now a separate post for this, but if anyone has an extra 30% off code for Factory, I would very much appreciate it: brady.jl@gmail.com . Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHeads-up to anyone looking to purchase the Scottie Dog, Puffin or Bow sweater...new arrivals should be 30% off ($54.60), but the price listed is $61.50. If you've already purchased, you should be able to get a credit for the difference.
ReplyDeletePer JCAs that shared the 40% off your purchase in-store promo at the Factory stores, I called one today. It is still in effect and the SA doesn't know how long it will go on. She said they get an email each day that gives the news. JCAs also shared that you can use the coupon Alexis shared, so remember that if you go.
ReplyDeleteYes, do go to the b&m if you have one nearby. The 40% off is such a great deal! I bought the puffin sweater, and I am in love with it. I also got the retro jade matchstick cords which are so pretty. The color seems richer on the cords than it does in the other retro jade items like the ds pencil and the sterling skirt.
DeleteAlso, the wool ruffle collar dress (aka Madeline dress) popped back in all sizes/colors this AM. I couldn't resist the jazzy purple. It is only $69.99 before the discount and totally worth it. Just an adorable dress!
Hi J.CrewJD, did the ruffle collar dress run tts and was it a decent length? Thanks!
DeleteShekster, it runs TTS to slightly large, and the length is good. It will be knee length on most people. It is slightly above knee on me at 5'10", but since it is a looser fitting style, it looks fine and I can wear it to work without a problem.
DeleteGreat! Thanks so much J.CrewJD. I am excited to hear it is not too short like all the other JCrew dresses.
DeleteSlight OT but does anyone know if you are allow to send Factory stuff back along in the same box with Regular JC stuff using 1 shipping label for returns?
ReplyDeleteI used to be able to do that when JC combined the 2 source but now it seems like they are shipping seperately....I did check the return address on both JC and Factory its the same address except 1 says to JCREW and 1 says to JCREW Factory.
Thanks!
Couture - Just did a Live Chat and was told:
Delete"You're welcome to ship these returns in the same box--just be sure to include the receipts from each order."
Thanks Gigi you are awesome :) I love this community!!
DeleteLooking for factory 30% off 200 code too- thanks so much
ReplyDeletepeisan001@hotmail.com
I wish Madewell had a code going on for full-priced items. I want a pair of their Archive boots, but am waiting (hopefully) for a coupon.
ReplyDeleteAre you able to combine the HAULPASS code with the codes they sent you in the mail for your online order? I didn't think you were able to stack codes, but now I'm curious!
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering the same thing!
DeleteThe bow sweater is super cute. I like the fair isle sweater, too. Anyone tried these?
ReplyDeleteI visited a factory store yesterday and have some reviews on my blog at BeachChicStyle.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I will ever order from J Crew Factory again. I just received two bills for duties, customs and brokerage fees for the last two orders I made (I'm in Canada). This is new, just since they split form the J Crew site. An order for $183 cost me an additional $49 and an order for $60 cost me an additional $23. I'm upset as there is nothing about these additional charges on the Factory terms of use page AND J Crew got rid of these charges some time ago. Of course I will contact them but why would I bother buying Factory when I have to pay these extra charges? So for spending $200 I get the pleasure of paying an additional $73 in customs, duties and brokerage fees. Beware fellow Canadians! Goodbye J Crew Factory.
ReplyDeleteI just called UPS and it turns out they billed me in error. They are reversing the charges. Well, it has been a good learning in that I can now see why J Crew clothing costs more in Canada...About $73 bucks for customs and duties on two orders totalling $243!
Deleteglad you sorted it out and it is an error from UPS. I just placed an order this morning and I was panicking for a minute :)
DeleteThe same happened to me on my first order after factory went live. JCrew reimbursed me the charges - I was really hoping it was an error with first opening days of site but now worried will happen with other orders I have placed!,
DeleteJust waiting for other UPS bills to arrive.
Clearly says on website - no additional charges or duties/taxes on Canadian orders. Was told by JCrew sales associate when it happened with a WWFI order that someone just selected wrong shipping option within JCrew as choice on how shipped in Canada versus how shipped in US
I actually placed an order yesterday before this promo started but I had one of those 20% off code so I am not upset. I couldn't resist the big check mini and I ended up ordering two sizes because the last mini that I ordered from factory is obscenely short. I also ordered the swiss elk tee to pair with it. Considered the Scottie Charley but in the end I didn't, it is a bit too preppy for me.
ReplyDeleteI placed an order and noticed a few things - this may have already have been mentioned - but you can now use your J. Crew card on the Factory site. Also, I noticed there was a message in my shopping cart next to two items before I checked out that said something like "low inventory." Now that was a huge improvement for JC! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm curious how long the 40% off in-store promo will last. There is a new Crewlet opening on Thursday, Nov 8 in Livermore, CA. I cannot imagine J Crew having 40% off the entire store the first day. We shall see...
ReplyDeleteI got an email about the new store opening in Livermore. I'm very tempted to check it out after work on Thursday. The email included a 20% off discount code.
DeleteRita, I'm afraid of what traffic will look like. I think it'll be crazy. Let us know if you go. :)
DeleteIs it silly to buy the wool ruffle-collar dress in all four colors? I have the gray and purple already. Wearing the gray today, and I feel so awesome in it, and love the style so much, that I am considering getting the red and black, too. Overkill? It is the perfect dress for work. It has sleeves, is long enough (once I let the hem down a tad) and is really flattering. It seems inherently ridiculous to own the same dress in four colors, though...
ReplyDeleteI went to a Factory store last nite. I inquired about the 40% off and was told Tue was the last day. Prices will change as of today with some items 30%, some 40% and some 50% off. That's all I was able to get out of the SA ;)
ReplyDeleteProbably back to pricing business as usual, like we usually see during in-store visits. If you feel like you missed anything during the 40% off, I didn't find that to be the case. After the $25 promo was applied, I only saved about $5 in-store vs the online prices for 4 items. Items were regular price + 40% off. None were promo price + 40%. If I would've known that, I would've done the math at home and stayed at home, saving toll & gas.
I was so incredibly happy with the large Factory order I received on Monday, I may be nuts but I'm contemplating another order. I love that they finally updated the labels; even if they do more closely resemble the new retail labels we don't love so much, it's still an upgrade from the old, very cheap-looking Factory labels with the two diamonds. In terms of the items, I will concede that there is almost always a noticeable different in fabric weight between retail and factory, but considering each item I bought was in the $31-48 price range, I made out like a bandit. The three skirts I bought (double serge wool in vibrant flame, graphite tweed in ivory black and frayed tweed in camel coral) all fit perfectly. I took my normal size which I typically have to hem when purchasing retail but the factory skirts sit just slightly higher at my waist and hit me right above the knee (I'm 5'3", size 00). All keepers. The merino classic pullover isn't as fitted as I would've liked, but for the $31 I paid I'm quite pleased with the quality. The Charley sweater in polka dot, which I'd been eyeing for awhile, appears slightly cheap upon close inspection (to be fair, I think all their "hand-printed" sweaters do whether they're from retail or factory) but the fit is so flattering and it's such a versatile piece that it too is a keeper. The cashmere crewneck cardi in sea salt - the one "expensive" item in my order at around $82 - is a bit sheer but very soft; I bought it to replace an identical one from a couple years back (hole in the elbow from wearing it to death) so I'm going to compare the two tonight to see if the old one was as sheer. It probably was. The fit is identical to my old one. The last item I bought was the wool-blend two tone stripe sweater. It doesn't excite me in person, but it was $34, fits well, and I'm keeping everything else so no sense in paying to ship it back! I'll definitely make use out of it.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone has specific questions about any of these items, please don't hesitate to ask!
How does the factory cashmere compare to the retail in feel and length I'm tall so it drives me bonkers when I barely lift my arms and expose the world to my pale post pregnancy belly. Considering getting one of those crazy bands one wears around the belly to keep skin covered. Also how does the factory serge wool compare to this year's retail serge wool skirt? TIA.
DeleteMy son needs a new blazer. The kid is growing out of his clothes too fast. I thought about getting the navy schoolboy blazer from retail, but am wondering if anyone can tell me about the factory version. I have also considered ordering the Lands End version
ReplyDeleteIf you have a 30% off Factory code to unload, please send it my way :)
