It's that time again, to take a look at an image of J.Crew pieces from seasons past! As caribbelle (in this post) so beautifully termed, "ye olde j crew of yore".
This
post features the Merino Wool Peacoat Sweater. The gold buttons and belt are a lovely detail for this adorable sweater. I also can't help but love the smile... we need to see more of those on J.Crew's models.
What are your thoughts on the look(s)/item(s) from the past? Do you find the look(s)/item(s) classic or do you think they are dated?
Oh my goodness! This is so serendipitous. I wore this exact sweater jacket today. I almost always wear mine with other belts though. Love, love, love it. Such great quality and fit, even after years and years of constant use. I think that it makes any outfit instantly more chic and it's a great alternative/update to the classic cardigan. Today, I wore it with an equestrian style hat, leather riding boots and skinny jeans.
ReplyDeleteI also bought it in the green and orange color but I'll admit that I use the navy twice as much as the other two. I also shamelessly purchased two of each color in case I accidentally ruined one. Yes this is what true love looks like :). This is one piece of "ye olde j crew of yore" that I hope lasts me a lifetime.
What struck me when I saw this piece is that while it's not for me, I love it anyway because I can tell from the photo that it is beautifully made. I wish JC quality were still on this level.
ReplyDeleteI would buy this in a heart beat if Jcrew offered it again. It's adorable.
ReplyDeleteSo cute, such quality! It is a shame that J.Crew does not make items like this anymore. (Love that skirt, too!)
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of the sweater jackets that J Crew came out with 2008? I have several and the substantial weight and quality were fantastic. Love the simplicity of the styling and healthy, natural, intelligent looking model too.
ReplyDeleteITA about the 2007-08 sweater jackets . . . as much as I whine about current offerings being too expensive, I would pay the price if I knew I was going to get the quality that we did in ye olde days.
ReplyDeleteWOW, thanks for showcasing this oldie but goodie. I have this merino jacket in the navy purchased back in the day and still wear it. It is such a lovely tight weave and is like an friend when I pull it from the closet. Like D*ska it pairs so well with jeans and cords which is my work outfit during the winter. When that nasty/pilling mess in a similiar style came out last winter I laughed since I had the original one. Thanks Alexis...
