J.Crew Email: FACTORY ONLINE IS OPEN: 40% OFF EVERY ITEM THIS WEEKEND!

"Thanks!" to many of you, including MeganCrew (in this post) & Ketan, who shared the following news from J.Crew this morning.

J.Crew Factory (click here to shop online) is open for the weekend. But wait there's more! Factory items are priced an additional 40% off. This offer is automatically applied (no code needed which is fabulous!) This promotion expires Sunday, March 20, 2011.

As JCAs know... if you live near a Factory Store, check them out first. The B&M Factory Stores tend to have better promotions and sale prices.

What are your thoughts on J.Crew's Factory Spring offerings? Will you check them out?

  1. I'm not seeing the additional 40 percent. The prices don't look that great, in fact.

  2. Susmita: The red price below the regular price reflects the 40% reduction. For example, the
Factory Linen-Cotton Ruffle Cardigan (item 35799 ) was $69.50, and now its 41.70. Hope this helps. :)

  3. FYI - I just received the Factory Printed Twyla tank in papaya and I really like it, it is TTS. My only issue with it is that it is bordering on too low-cut for work.

  4. Rebecca, I have that same tank and I agree with you. I'm thinking about maybe shortening the shoulder straps. I've done it with other J Crew tanks because a lot of them are way too low on me. The print is so pretty that I am definitely keeping it.

  5. I just got the end-on-end camp shirt, which is a fantastic shirt, imo. I will get a ton of use out of it. Looks like free shipping was automatically applied to my order, too. I didn't have to use a code at checkout but was not charged for it.

  6. I don't know about other Factory prices, but I was disappointed to see that at least the Factory Printed Perfect Shirt is still the same price online as it has been for months @ $29.50. Granted, it is marked down from $59.50, but I was able to buy it back in Jan. for $14.50 so it didn't seem like much of a sale for that particular item.

  7. Aaaaaahhhhhhhh! I thought I was done with my buying binge, and now this! Thanks a lot, J Crew, taking advantage of a struggling addict.

Just want to mention that I have 3 of the Factory linen-cotton slub cardis and I love them. If I liked the remaining colors I'd order more.

  8. shopalot - Great idea!!! Under a cardigan you could even do this with safety pins and essentially make it adjustable.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Rebecca: Safety pins would definitely work. My sewing skills are not the greatest, but since I don't wear the tanks without a cardigan or jacket, no worries there. No one can see my crooked stitching and that way I'm not flashing people all day!

AppGal: I got free shipping on my factory order too. Very happy about that. Just ordered the striped s/s tee in navy (have the other two colors and LOVE) and a necklace.

  10. Two Items I am pondering:

    1. The Gabriella Dress: anyone seen/have this in person? I'm really small-chested and I think this is cute, but I'm not 100% sold on the ruffles.
    2. the Printed Pleated Tunic. I love the colors but I'm wondering how sheer it is...any feedback?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Mary - You can see pics of the retail Gabriella in this post. I'm 5'2", 34C.

  12. Gigi: thanks! It looks cute on you! I agree that if it wasn't on sale I'm not sure I'd like it so much...but it seems like a cute simple summer dress. Now I just have to decide what color...

    ReplyDelete
  13. Mary - I thought the darker colors looked better in the retail version. Remember, you're dealing w/Factory items and it may be lower quality fabric. If I were buying it, I'd go for black or navy, but that's a personal opinion. The pretty lilac or peach might work better for your coloring & intended use.

  14. I won't be ordering from the factory, even with the 40% off. The prices still aren't low enough IMO.

  15. I got the Factory Jaspe Hoodie for $34.65 with the previous promo and now it is priced at $35.70, so not too bad. IRL pics of this and other Factory items here.

  16. Saw a huge factory restock but nothing tempting. Pass :)

On a bright note, my last week 30% order of Factory Black Blossom Sanur and Factory Buffalo Check Scarf in pink were PERFECT. The dress fit TTS, if a little thinner in quality (but the print is so cute, I don't mind!). And the scarf is not the softest but cuter than any check scarf I've seen in awhile. Got three compliments the first hour I wore it!

  17. Btw I noticed they are selling out online! Like the oh-so-cute anchor shorts, sequin stripe boat dress, and rainy day ballet flats. Apparently, a cute printed poplin polka dot skirt also sold out! I never even got a chance to sale stalk! I'm getting the impression it's harder to find factory items than retail! *shocked* :)

    ReplyDelete
  18. minzunuami: the poplin polka dot skirt is freakin' adorable and yes, it sold out very quickly online. It's still available at many of the b&m Crewlets though. I bought it about a week ago--you can see my pics here (last pic in the post).

  19. I agree with AppGal on that poplin polka dot skirt. My B&M factory store is really close so I went last weekend. Some really cute stuff. Prices with %offs were comparable to online prices now in most cases. Within around $5 I'd say. I picked up that skirt in 2 colors - the polka dot and sweet guava. Great length - just to the knee. I sized down to a 0 (usually 2 or 4 in skirts) - fit my waist perfectly with just enough room for those days when you need it. Also picked up a cute white blouse with little embroidered embellishments that I don't see online and the paisley print dress that sold so fast online about a month ago. That's really thin, and while it's a cute print, I'm not sure it's worth what I paid, so it might go back.

Anyway, suffice to say Factory has cute stuff right now, decent quality, and good prices. Worth a trip IMO. And if you're looking for the polka-dot skirt, the Loveland, CO Factory had them in all sizes as of last night, along with other cute colors (the guava and grey).

  20. Has anyone tried the factory sequin stripe henley tank? Is it TTS and how does it compare to the retail version? TIA

    ReplyDelete
  21. I also picked up the polka dot skirt last week (?) with the discount, and I was so happy with it. Love the length and colors. If it pops back, I'd recommend.

savvy shopper -- I ordered the sequin stripe henley in both XS and S (I have an XS in the retail version), and the XS worked for me, so it seems to be TTS. I think the retail version had linen in it, and the factory is cotton, but that's fine with me.

  22. Mary, I think the Gabriella is worth it. It is really cute in person!

  23. No purchases for me but I wanted to recommend the Men's graphic tees for the guys. I bought my dh several, long and short sleeve. He loves them. They are super soft and so far, no holes

    ReplyDelete
  24. @savvy shopper: I have a retail sequin stripe tank in the beige and ordered the factory tank in quarry during the last 30% off promo, received it yesterday. They're identical, size-wise, IMO, and TTS, although the fit is supposed to be a bit looser through the waist. (I think you could perhaps size down if you're not busty.) And shopwithm is correct: the factory version is 100% cotton, whereas the retail was 70% cotton and 30% linen. Sequins seem identical too. Only thing I'm slightly disappointed in is that the quarry has olivey-green undertones that I don't recall showing up in the retail version. Hope this helps.

  25. I'm not buying anything this go around, but wanted to second another poster's comments about the End on End Camp shirt. I just got it from the last 30 off promo and it is fabulous! I'm wearing it right now w/boot leg jeans and the charcoal striped painter tee underneath. So cute and comfy. Very light weight. Love! Also, I got the cotton candy Merino cardigan from the factory site last 30 off and it's really nice too! I don't know if it's still available, but I recommend it. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

  27. Everyone's comments have been helpful! I was eying the Gabriella dress and went ahead and purchased it. NICE to have shipping automatically waved :-D Also trying the sequin raye and sequin strip henley in quarry. Dunno, I'm looking for cute tanks to wear under sheer white tees this spring. :-D

  30. Stopped by my local crewlet last night on my way home from work and picked up the "factory suckered gingham perfect shirt" in paris pink. I LOVE it. The fabric and fit are comparable to retail and at less than half the price. The pink has an undertone of coral which is beautiful in the warmer weather when you are tan. I would highly recommend this shirt!

  31. I noticed some items were removed for this promotion. I am sure they will reappear once this sale is over. That is kind of a downer, in my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  32. The only Factory item I had in my cart was a pair of pink madras shorts, and of course they fell out. No matter. I did manage to pick up a dream shawl open-collarc ardi right before the 'free ship on any order' ended...

  33. I second the comment on the suckered gingham perfect shirt, I am very happy w it and have worn it several ways, versatile and good quality.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Agree on the suckered gingham perfect shirt! Very pleased, good quality and received lots of compliments.
