Cardmember Email: A peek inside our jewelry box, just for Cardmembers

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Desert Flower, Marietta, & Irina, who shared with us the latest email from J.Crew to its card members.

The email above features the not-yet-officially-released-online the Sparkle Flower Necklace (Item 40979; $98.00). J.Crew describes these sandals as:
We're loving the look of sweet floral bits mixed with tough metal chains. Pretty triplets of enameled brass and zinc flowers (complete with individually hand-set glass pearls at the center of each bloom) adorn this mesh bib necklace. The subdued color palette keeps it from being overly feminine, while a sprinkling of glass stones adds sparkle and dimension. Glass pearls set in enameled brass and zinc castings with glass stones and dark gold ox-plated brass chains. Signature spring clasp closure. Import. Length: 20 3/4" with 3" extender chain for adjustable length.
Even better? There is free shipping on select regular priced jewelry items- including this one! Not so great? There is already a wait list for this item (expected to ship 03.28.2011). I will say, it is a very pretty piece. It definitely sets the mood for Spring (with warmer weather and flowers starting to bloom).

On another note, this email means that new arrivals are once again just around the corner! :)

What are your thoughts on the Sparkle Flower Necklace? Do you like the style- the flowers & gems to brass chain?

  1. I think it's very pretty. I'm considering getting on that wait-list, then see if I can pick it up when I hit a B&M store next month.

  2. Well, speaking of quirky marketing, in this morning's Inboxes:
Himself - from JC - A peek inside our jewelry box, just for Cardmembers

Moi - from Madewell - The newest of the new...(+ free shipping)

Neither is the address on the JC account, from which I have placed (blushes) a few orders this month.

Mes chères, any man who even tried to give me mystery metal jewelry would have a LOT of explaining to do!

Oh, and the free shipping code I got from Madewell is GOFORIT, $100 minimum. I assume others got better deals?

  3. That wouldn't be for me. I
m kind of a big girl, and anything with itty-bitty flowers on it never looks right on me. Like Liberty prints. Love, but they look weird on me. I do better with chunkier baubles. :)

  5. I try and stick with the pieces that are more classic and less trendy. I want to make sure I can wear it more than just once or twice and with several different necklines. It is a beautiful piece though. Maybe if it hits clearance (or Ebay) someday.

  6. It is very pretty, but there are so many other great pieces that are more versatile and affordable, IMO.

BTW, does anyone have a 20 or 30% coupon code they'd be willing to sell? Much appreciated :)

  10. the necklace is pretty enough but i feel like you can get other options at better price points.

OT--clicquot, did you receive your dotted fineline cami? what did you think of it?

  11. I'm not sure why my posts in the size 14 thread are deleted as soon as I submit them, did the thread reach max size? So I am posting here. People have the misconception that being overweight shortens your life. But overweight people actually live the longest. I think it's important for everyone to know this fact to stop the obnoxious prejudice.

  12. This reminds me of the Garnish necklace that Anthro had a couple years ago only the garnish had fewer, more colorful flowers. It was really pretty. This one is rather bland IMO.

  13. i have a question about the swim. i have a ton of jcrew swim separates but i want the paradis paisley swimsuit. it's a one piece and it's been sold out once before but they restocked but have sold out too fast for me to get a size 0 or 2, which is my usual size in their clothes in general, but i'm not sure about the one piece swim. there's a 4 and i'm tempted to get it in case it runs smaller. I am 5'5", 120lbs, 33C, 26 1/2 waist. I would think a 2 but it's sold out. I'm hoping it runs small or that they restock so I can get the 2. What has your experience with one-pieces been like?

  14. mjbeet --> I did get the Dotted Fineline cami and I kind of love it! I'm highly annoyed that their description of "100% silk" was actually "100% nylon/poly", but it fits beautifully. I wore it yesterday and it looked great under a cashmere cardi.

    For $27, I guess I won't complain. :)

  16. melis,

I own 10+ JCrew one pieces. 3 I bought last season. They run true to size for me; same size as I order in dresses or pants from JCrew. They definitely don't run small IMO.

  17. Melis - I would get the 4. I am typically a 2 and I bought a Lomelina one piece suit in a 4. I am 5' 7" and about your weight on a good day :)

  18. Melis, I'm quite a bit taller and heavier than you, but I'll still chime in to say that I find J Crew one-piece swimsuits to run very large. According to their chart I ought to be ordering size 12 (for upper) or 10 (for hips), but I take an 8 and even then find the torso to be a little too long.

I recommend trying two sizes - the one you think will fit, and one down. The paradis paisley looks supercute - good luck!

  19. Wow, cool post. I'd like to write like this too - taking time and real hard work to make a great article... but I put things off too much and never seem to get started. Thanks though. Girls jewelry box
