Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the WINTER & HOLIDAY sale, or to see some new RESORT & SPRING arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  3. I was just in on Wednesday evening to make some returns, so I definitely won't be going back this weekend. I may consider a trip at the beginning of the week to see the new arrivals though. Have a great weekend everyone! :)

  4. Like FFM, I was just there. I am also going to wait for new arrivals. I am dying to see what they have!

I did bite on the 20% off online today, after saying there was nothing left I wanted. The cheetah calf hair belt popped back in size small and I grabbed it. I'd been debating it for a while and yesterday only saw it in larger sizes. It's an amazingly versatile print I'll wear a lot, and at only $35 (down from the original $68), I couldn't resist.

  5. Last weekend my store had NONE, zero new arrivals. The store manager said the smaller roll outs are for select stores only. I noticed someone else posted the same thing that their store had nothing new either. My store is far away. Only went b/c hubby had to drive that way for work so glad I did not make a special trip. Will continue to just order online. No shop worn merchandise that way either.

  6. No trips to the store for me. I noticed people posting about a few items they bought either in store or online that got mixed reviews like the peony shirt. What other items did people buy from the recent new roll out and care to mention for quality, fit, likedness:) etc.

  7. I agree with Genny - I always have some trepidation about going into my B&M (even though it's close by) because of how shop-worn some of the items look. Last Monday they had a rack of Unagi skirts where each one had some kind of pull in the material. I'd rather take my chances with ordering and returning to the B&M if need be. At least then I get something that actually looks new! Although, what's up with the lack of FS codes lately, JC?

I think that JC may continue with the rollouts every two weeks or so (some big, some small) - it's nice for us JCA's that always like to see what else they're going to offer, but also a pain if stuff ends up pushed to sale so quickly - if that's the case then even fewer people would be purchasing at FP.

  8. OH, so excited. Just popped into my in box...all new spring items at LE including canvas 20% off and free shipping no minimum. I did some serious damage with the one last weekend. I was wishing I had bought a couple more things...

    code: TWENTY pin: 1328

Happy Shopping. Let me know if anyone likes these or uses these. I don't want to post if not needed/wanted:) but still want to be helpful.

  10. When will the new roll out be available online?

  11. Hi Genny - you might want to post it on FFM's blog as well, she's got a great post up on the new LE Canvas arrivals. I think it's very helpful - they have some great new stuff, and 20% PLUS free shipping just sweetens the pot. :)

Tracey - we've been hearing 2/25/10 for the new arrivals online, which is consistent with JC usually posting on the last Thursday of the month.

  12. Here is a mini review of some things I got in the mail:

sunshine peonies shirt~ the fabric is nice, fits TTS, the print is very 70's like to me. the background is kinda dark, like a muted pinkish brown color, not keeping it and not worth $98.

lipstick gold foil pencil skirt~ very, very pretty. i usually wear 0 or 2 in jcrew skirts and 2 fits nicely. the color online is true to the color IRL.

chiffon forget-me-not cardigans~ the pale color of the cardigans washed me out, but i still think they are pretty IRL. the pink and blue flower appliques are nicely done, the blue flowers are brighter IRL than the online image. i usually wear small in jcrew cardigans, but i think the xs would fit better.

jaspe hoodie~ feels great, fits TTS, not itchy or scratchy like the wool blend one. this one is a keeper.

  13. Desert Flower, I have a leopard print calf-hair belt that I bought (I think) at Talbots about 12 years ago. I brought it back out last fall and was delighted at how well it still went with everything. An excellent and versatile accessory, I'm sure you'll wear yours for a long time too.

  14. Carrie,
Thanks for the mini review appreciate it. I felt the same way about the peony shirt. Not worth the price. I would pay $19.99 on super sale but the color/print are not the best IRL.

I also thought the color would wash me out on the sweater you mentioned. Did you get both the pink and the blue flowers to try? Which one did you like better if either? Thanks.

  15. FWIW, I was told JC new arrivals arrive 2/22.

  16. I stopped by the crewlet this afternoon on my drive home. They had new merchandise out -- here are some the items that caught my eye -- gladiola (yellow/grey) pencil skirt from last spring; they also had capris in this pattern. Had a few things in the sunburst pattern in various colors (green/orange, orange/brown) -- capris, shorts, mini skirt, cardigan. The cardigan was super pretty. They also had a cotton top, mini skirt, and jacket in the navy/white daisy pattern. Lots of basics -- chambray shirts, cotton shirts, minnies, jeans, etc.

    Hope this helps!!

  17. I went today. There was not much sale but there are lots of spring items and the SA said there will be more spring items rolled out at the beginning of March.

Among the tees, I noticed a tee similar to last year's Ringspun cotton rosette tee. It comes in white and pink, is V-neck, and has small rosettes all over the front. I'm not seeing it online right now. It is $48.50.

  18. P.S. I went to spend the Rewards Card but really couldn't find anything I wanted. It seems impossible, but I am all J Crew-ed out. My closet is already stuffed with all the ringspun applique tees it can handle, and I really don't need any more ruffled items. I ended up getting two bangles for $20, then the $5 change in cash.

  19. Summer,

I did get both of the blue and the pink flowers to try and I liked the pink over the blue. Since the blue flowers seemed to be brighter IRL, it looked a little off to me, I don't know. I sent both back and am exchanging the pink in the xs instead of the small. The cardigan is all cotton and from past experience, I believe it will stretch out as you wear it. Also forgot to mention that I bought the Jenna's cardigan for those who are interested. I got the small and it fits great. I'm 5'3" and it hits me right at the navel. The weight is nice and since I live in the south, it'll be perfect all year around.

  20. Rosie -- Is this the tee you saw?

FYI, I reviewed the rosette ruffled cardigan. Also at the bottom of the post is a much lower costing look alike to J Crew's Alecia pump.

  21. I went quickly today - a heads up that there are really new spring items already marked down (they are still listed as new arrivals on the website and full price). I noticed the Cotton Papillon Blouse in purple and white (I think it was $49.99), and the swiss dot (or something like that). There was also some of the jewelry with rhinestones, multicolored ribbons, etc. on sale. Didn't notice anything new or interesting, but the catalogs were gone so hopefully March is on the way!

  22. I popped in briefly this afternoon and was also surprised to see the paillon blouse marked down already. It does nothing for me, though. Today was my first chance to see the Neopolitan cardi and skirt in person, and I just love both items. If I had to choose, I'd probably buy the skirt -- if it gets marked down, I will RUN to the nearest JC and snatch it up. I had thought it had pink in it, and was happy to see it was lavender instead -- I could wear it with my lavender Frances and also my lilac scoopneck painter tee from last year.

Also wanted to mention that the Raleigh, NC store had oodles of the $10 canvas bags in at least 2 different styles. Shame on those selling these on eBay for $50 and $100! I hope everyone is smart enough not to buy them there....

  23. Clicquot, I'm happy to hear your belt has stood the test of time. I'm hoping mine does as well. I almost feel like it's a neutral and will go with a lot of outfits.

Gigi, my personal shopper also told me new arrivals were due 2/22. I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

  24. The Cotton Nico skirt was marked down too at the store...but its still full price online.

  25. Gigi -- yes, that is it! Thank you. As you say, is the Tissue rosette bouquet tee (23743).

Me also no likey! :( I expected to like it because it instantly grabbed my eye in the store. However, it was much too long on my petite torso, yet also too tight and too see-through. I liked last year's version better, and am worried that the applique tees are going to be out of style soon anyway.

  26. I just got home from the outlet, where I picked up a version of the minnies in gray and black- on clearance for $21 each! I'm in love.

  27. Carrie,
Thanks for the info. I ended up with the blue one. I liked the pink one at first and didn't even consider the blue but then I had this sudden change of heart and thought the blue would work better in my wardrobe with jeans/jean skirts and maybe the flowers would stand out more. I was worried about the sweater itself washing me out and thought a blue cami underneath might help brighten it up. If the pink goes on sale I would get it though:) Thanks for your input.
