Extra 20% Off Final Sale {& free shipping} Is Back!

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Green_Dino (in this post), Suzi, & Marietta, who shared the latest promotion from J.Crew.

J.Crew is offering customers 20% off any purchase from Final Sale {no minimum} and free shipping {on $150+} with promo code EXTRA20. This offer expires 2/21/10.

I have a feeling that the Final Sale merchandise will be restocked quite a bit in the next couple of days. (Since brick & mortar stores have been returning Winter & Holiday sale merchandise back to the warehouse for the past two weeks.) Hopefully JCAs will be able to score some amazing deals! :)

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Are there any sale items you are interested in getting?

  1. I am thinking of purchasing a few swim suits. Has anyone bought J.Crew suits in the past? Does anyone have any advice on the fit? What about the quality of the Jersey Lomellina suits?

I'll probably pick up a few tops and tees for my boyfriend and myself. I'm not comfortable buying anything else from the final sale unless I've already tried it on. Besides, I'm really holding out for a big Spring/Summer shopping spree in the next few months.

  2. I probably won't order unless they end up putting some of the recent new arrivals on promo and move them into the sale section, like they did with the Iris Embroidery tank and Cropped Vintage Denim Jacket...then I might consider it. :)

  3. I really hate that free ship with the fine print. You have to order about $190 worth to get free ship after the 20% discount :(

I won't be buying though. Still all the same old stuff for the most part although a few newer items have moved over at a small discount.

  4. Pass. I'm done (I think) w/the winter items.

  5. I used my rewards card to pick up a floral fan placket perfect shirt. I already have the similar strada fan placket perfect shirt and I like it a lot.

  7. lareve-

I have several Jcrew suits I've accumulated over the years - they quality and fit are great and they definitely last for years. I just purchased a Jersey Lomellina bikini on final sale, and I really like how they look and feel, especially the bottom. I can't speak for how well they hold up after use since it's still 20 degrees out so no swimming for me :(

    HTH!

  8. Really too bad there's nothing there, the deal is tempting.

  9. I have a rewards card and there is nothing I even want! This sucks!

  10. Does anybody have an FS code other than the EXTRA20?

  11. I definitely took the plunge. I got a couple of sweaters - dream v-neck in sweet papaya and cambridge v-neck in deep berry. I've been eying them for awhile and I've been unhappy with the choice of colors at other retailers. That's why I keep drinking the crewlade - the colors! Even though I've heard LE or AT have better quality sweaters, their colors just don't seem as vibrant as JC. I stayed away from the JC cashmere though. I want them so bad but I've heard way too many complaints about the quality.

I also bought the wool schoolboy blazer in heather coral. I know it's been in the FS pile forever but I really like the color. I'm hoping that I'll be able to follow gigiofca's 3-outfit rule: don't buy a piece unless you can get at least 3 outfits from it. :)

Then I finished off with the silk frances cami, couple of tights, and the tissue beaded lace tee. I just can't resist anything beaded, especially on a tee!

With the FS+20%+rewards card = Not bad.

  12. meh.

there are a pair of shoes that i'd like to pick up but i am hoping that they stick around in final sale a little longer and get reduced a little more or i can come across them on ebay.

i still have my rewards card but still don't feel like anything is worth it.

  13. Lareve- I really like J crew swimsuits- the Lomellina are fab! I picked up the stained glass print last week and LOVE it! I don't pay full price for them but for $40-$60 I think that they are a good buy and much cuter than what I usually can find elsewhere. At the end of Summer last year they marked a bunch of them down to $19 and I went a little nuts so I am officially all set on swimsuits for the next few years:)

  14. I agree with Maureen1125 that JCrew's suits are nice, but unfortunately they don't fit me very well. I did have a wonderful lightweight wool pencil skirt a few years ago that I LOVED... until I got too fat for it. It had a small ruffle inset at the back hem. It was sooo cute. Does anyone remember it?

  15. Should have clarified - I meant swimsuits :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. LOL, Maureen, I guess your next sentence about bikinis should have made that clear. :P

  17. I bought the stained glass cardi, a popback in one of the vneck cashmere cardis in jalapeno, and a pair of tights.

  18. Do the swimsuits fit true to size or will I need to size up or down?

  19. I ordered the Petite double-cloth Carlin coat in Dark Poppy!!!!! I had seen it in the stores but they never had my size and pettite. It's on the way to me now! Yipppy!!!!! I was able to use my gift card and rewards card too! Win!!!

  20. Globe Trotter,
I've found the bottoms run a tad small... I'm normally a 4 and their size chart says a SM will fit a 4/6, but I found it snug. Bought it on off season, so haven't tested it yet, but swimsuits do stretch, so I don't know. Fine line between too snug a a saggy bottom fit! :) HTH

  21. I'm sticking to my (flexible) ban although this type of promo is right up my alley. I'd allow myself some CC if any cute sweaters popback in next year's size, but I haven't seen anything for myself that gives me cravings.

  22. I gotta stop checking back to FS section but I caught a popback of wool professor blazer in black. I had it in my basket earlier today but then it was sold out. When I saw it popback, I jumped in. I just love the black and white contrast and I couldn't resist. It was definitely marked as FS on the receipt so I hope I made the right call.

Now I'm definitely done with shopping for awhile.

  23. I nearly broke down and bought the Marche satchel in salmon, but luckily cancelled my order before the hour was up. Whew, close call.
These promos are so tempting to me!

lareve: I LOVE JCrew bikinis. I have the Jersey Lomelina bikini and it is TDF. The fabric and fit are very high quality IMHO. I should tell you that the one-piece suits are usually too short in the body for me, but I am on the tall side (5'7"). HTH! :)

  24. I'm totally craving a white turtleneck for spring. Why? I don't know. It must be one of those subliminal things.
If I find one in my size I might pick it up. Otherwise, I'll check the outlets.

I picked up the Crewlet "Boyfriend Utility Jacket" yesterday at 50% off ($39.75). They had it in an army green color and I got the med. gray color ("PSU") which is better for my coloring. I like this price for jumping on the "borrow from the boys" look just a little. Unlike Jenna, I won't be wearing it to anything formal!

  25. I finally caved and got the Cadogan boots...I have been looking for a good pair of brown boots, and after reading the past reviews on them...I went for it!

  26. I wasn't really going to get anything until I saw the Aldridge tuxedo jacket and pants in my size in the FS (what are the odds?). I pulled the trigger and saved $400 plus free shipping. Feeling a bit guilty bit I've been wanting a peak-lapel tux. And it's hard to say "No" to those kind of savings! 8^)

  27. I'm waiting for more things to go on sale so I wouldn't be ordering with this promo.

O/T: Someone wanted to know how the Gamine jacket in Desert Rose was. I received mine and it is more of a coral-y shade and a bit of orange undertone. I do love coral-y shades but I had hoped it was more darker so it's going back.
Also, the sleeves are kind of long so that's why the model has it folded up a bit, I think. I'm 5'4' and this isn't offered in petites. Also it bothers me a bit I have to wear it closed all the time since the ribbon tie looks awkward undone.
But I'm sure there are JCA's that can rock this look. Happy shopping!

  28. jcrewphd, thanks for the info re the gemine jacket in desert rose. I finally bought it in my size. I don't want another black jacket so I bought it to see if I'd like the color better (than black). I tried on the black one in store... the sleeves are indeed long... maybe it's meant to be folded? It doesn't really bother me that much. I really like the length of the jacket for spring... I hope I'd like it when I receive mine!

  29. i caved and ordered some crewcuts for my little one and the elsbeth oxfords--i've had these in my shopping bag forevveerr and since only my size was left, it felt like they were screaming out to me so i finally bit the bullet!
does anyone have these? hoping they're a true fit and comfortable!

  30. No, nothing for me. I don't buy final sale. I occasionally try like last week but got a defective/stained item. Really tired of buying old items that pop back. I no longer stalk JCrew:) I just buy new and new sale items only. I stalk LE and notice when their prices go down now. My hubby just said we need to let go of our JCrew stock and buy LE stock now as a box was sitting on our porch when we got home!

  31. Still nothing for me this time around. I'm holding out for extra % off and free ship with no minimum. Why one is penalized with high shipping for spending a bunch of money is just beyond me. Urrrgggh. Besides, I've been making out like a bandit thanks to the weekly exchange, so I have no business spending more anyway!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I still have a couple of items on my popback wishlist. I've been lucky with all the recent popbacks purchased in that none have been damaged, shopworn or stained. That could just mean I'm due for a bummer though. I'm really more keen for some spring clothes rather than old winter stock. Would totally love an extra 20 and free shipping off regular-priced merch.

  33. Did I miss it or there's nothing good left?!?

  34. I can not seem to stop placing orders- but ONLY when there is SOME promo- whether free shipping or code...I placed a big order last week with the insider code- and then found more stuff on Tuesday night- that I almost ordered- and boom- free shipping code! Of course, NOTHING in my shopping bag was on sale- it was all new arrivals- so, I added the Lumiere Silk Tank in barely peach- orig %79 and it was $23.99 after code- and the FREE SHIPPING APPLIED to my entire purchase ($400 of new arrivals)- so, for those who were holding off- YOU CAN USE THE FREE SHIPPING as I did!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. JCAs, does anyone have experience with the Tuesday strappy heels? They're darling...but as with so many items that have languished in the sale section, I'm skeptical. TIA!

Oh, and by the way - if anyone is debating the Jardin jacquard pencil skirt, go for it! It's gorgeous IRL and the bright floral will be great for spring. I did have to size up from my normal size in pencil skirts, FWIW - the fabric doesn't have much give.

  36. Hey, I saw the promo and couldn't help myself. I'd already gotten the Velvet Eden Blazer in Indigo and loved the construction so much that I bought it in Iris. I also bought the Pointelle Stitch tights, Herringbone tights and the Merino Knit Beret. So glad that I used the promo because I've wanted the Eden Blazer in Iris and I'm glad that I ordered it, it came to 39.99 not bad.
