Darlings, is it time for a J.Crew coupon code?

Yes, it is that wonderful time!

J.Crew is offering free shipping on orders of $150+ with promo code AS-800. This offer expires 2/14/10.

P.S. I have noticed that other blogs & websites post J.Crew codes & coupons *after* this blog does. If you happen to get codes & coupons from the JCA blog & post them at your site, could you please give give a "shout out" to the JCA blog? This way more JCAs are inclined to share. TIA! :)

  1. Thanks for the FS code, much appreciated!

Since there seems to be some animosity toward the nude tones I wanted to share my outfit with the dusty blossom pencil skirt from yesterday. Since my husband won't let me post IRL photos online I can only describe the pieces. :P

Inspiration comes from a Pucci scarf with similar colors to the one at the link below, but with a different pattern. It's easier to see the nude/turquoise together in the second, square photo. My scarf doesn't have the lavender tones but you get the idea.

As soon as I saw nude with turquoise in the scarf I had to try it. I paired the dusty blossom skirt with a light turquoise cotton v-neck from J.Crew circa spring 2007, Fluevog Hi-Choice heels in nude and tan and tied the Pucci scarf around my neck to pull it together. I never would have thought to pair turquoise with dusty blossom and it looked great. I'm going to try it with other shades of blue next time. Loving the nude tones!

Sorry for the long post. I just had to share as I find the nude tones quite versatile and fresh and I am quite surprised how much I like it.

  2. Has anyone tried using this code yet? Was so excited to see another free shipping code, but it doesn't seem to be working when I check out.

  3. Thanks for the code! I won't be using it this go round, since I'm waiting for a package from the last promo. I have to say I'm kind of pleased with the non-update. Many times I've been in full on cringe mode the day after a good promo ends. I hate seeing all the good popbacks I can't take advantage of, and I REALLY get annoyed with lowered sale prices that can't be adjusted. Sure you can try to reorder, but what a pain. If this is a byproduct of better inventory control, then yea!

ShuLvr, great outfit! The colors sound pretty, and I LOVE Fluevogs. The pairs I've had have been very comfortable and such great quality.

  4. Update... the code wasn't working for me online, but I called and it worked perfectly. Thank you!! :)

  5. ShuLvr, thanks for the description of the outfit! I also have that skirt and it is the BEST. I haven't tried it with the shades you have described but it sounds gorgeous.
This is the kind of JCrew item that I believe will truly be wearable for years.
I gotta get me some of those Fluevog's!
CheesyGoodness, I'm laughing my head off: "full on cringe mode"...so true!

  6. Thanks for the code! It's always nice to have one available just in case they offer a promotion on the new arrivals this time around. :)

ShuLvr: You're outfit sounds beautiful. :)

  7. So, the knit hoodie. It says it's poly, cotton, rayon. Is that typical? I don't buy many hoodies but I like the color of the neon melon. How sweaty/flammable is that?

  8. ShuLvr I love the color pairings you used. I also love the dusty blossom color on the skirt...that would work for me as well and is so classic. However, if it was next to my pale Irish face in the form of a blouse it would wash me out. This is why some of aren't big fans of the nude colors.

  10. Thanks for the FS code.

ShuLvr: your outfit sounds beautiful and classy. I loved the dusty blossom skirt but I already had the gray and really wanted the cinnamon stick color so I passed on this one.
But it sounds like it could be easily worn through spring.

I always love to see and hear how JCA's put outfits together!

  11. OT, Ann Taylor put several of their new spring merino cardis on promo for 39.50. There is also the beautiful silk dahlia blouse on promo for 39.50. You can use this code for 20% off a $100 order to get them for $32 each. They also give you FS on $150. The FS worked for me even though my order was less than $150 after the discount. Code: 108020486.

  12. Alexis, are you ever going to post your OOTDs? I for one would love to see them and I'm sure I'm not the only one!

  13. Not even tempted with this coupon code, as the sale section hasn't been updated at all, and I'm fine with recent purchases on their way! Several items from the new roll-out coming with free shipping, ordered through a personal shopper. Wish they'd do more reductions in the sale section. THEN I might be tempted.

  14. I know this is off subject, but has anyone ever ordered from Wrap? I got a catalog today and it has some cute things in it, the colors are pretty, not quite so many ruffles and absolutely no over the top styling. I would be most appreciative of any comments on quality and fit. Thank you.

  15. Hey Alexis: I just used the free shipping code with no problem!! Thanks for posting it:)

  16. Elizabeth, flammability may be somewhat high due to the fiber content, but you will be toasty and comfy up until you turn to ash! I like mine quite a bit, it is very soft and several inches longer than hoodies from JC have been for the past couple years. It has a versatile double zip and washes very nicely, with no shrinkage in the dryer. This is a nice layer since it's not thick but gives plenty of coverage. I have the pants too, and they have pilled just a bit. I got both during recent promos, so they were in the more reasonable $25-35 range. I haven't had them long enough to comment on their durability, but JC sweats/loungewear is a category I've never had any complaints with in the ten plus years I've been a customer. That said, this line will probably have another promo soon if you want to wait.

  17. has anyone seen the featherweight long cotton cardi IRL? I'm loving the mint julep and sepia colors but am very wary of Jcrew "thin" cardis. Thanks!

  18. I agree about the lounge hoodie/pants. I have the popover hoodie, the zip hoodie, and two pants. All the pieces are SO comfortable; I'm sort of tempted to order just one more in sepia. I've also had a bit of pilling in the pants, but they're still bliss. I'm partial to the lighter, non-bulky look of this line, too.

  19. Hexicon,
Posting this so hopefully you see this; don't get too excited about the wool floral scarf/WWFit. Got mine straight from online ordering and the print is TOTALLLY different than the one pictured online. HUGE disappointment. I am done with JCrew. I am so mad right now. I know it is just a scarf but it is not even close to the picture online. WTF????

  20. Has anyone tried the new bateau stripe top? The PS at the store thinks it is online only. But, online, it doesn't say that. I was just wondering on the fit and the fabric. TIA

  21. This is completely OT but is Oprah wearing the JC merino microsequin cardigan (in shore pink) on this month's cover of O magazine? It sure looks like it! Just wondering if anyone else noticed this...

  22. Savvyshopper: I am doing a mini-review of the bateau tomorrow morning at my "My Superfluities blog." It is just a lovely top, a bit long (I am short-torsoed), but with a nice, not too thin fabric, in a lovely color (camel). I bought a small, and it fits nicely. (TTS, but if you want a tighter fit, size down one.) I have not seen it at a store yet. IRL pics will be published, but tonight is the Lost premiere, so I have to have my priorities. LOL.

Stella: I saw that, too! I was all excited (as I own that very cardi), but alas, it is not J. Crew. Just a very close cousin! She looks gorgeous in that color!

  23. FYI - Well, I had to do another errand at the mall (mine comes about two weeks after it is released!), and stopped into J Crew to pick up a catalog and peek around, and noticed that the sale section was GONE!
    Totally empty.

So I'm guessing an update may be coming online pretty soon. If they lower some prices too, it may be good.

  24. Thanks for posting the code...it saved me about $20 bucks! Shipping should be free over a certain dollar amount anyway IMHO.

  25. I got the Denim Minnie pants! They fit very nicely and are like the original Minnie pants I got in the fall last year--zipper on the side, stretchy, etc. I gained weight recently but the Minnie pants seem to look better that way--so I'd size down from your normal pants size. If you love the Minnie pants, I recommend these jeans!

  26. Thanks for the compliments on the outfit guys! I wanted to share the lovely color combo, it looked so nice. The skirt goes with a lot of spring colors, both vibrant and pastel. Another fave from J.Crew.

Fluevogs really are some of the best shoes around. I have several pairs, too many to admit. They are comfortable and extremely well-made, last for years and look great. They do go on sale from time to time so try them out if you're on the fence. J.Crew has some really cute shoe styles, although the quality isn't always the best but fine if you get a deal. I got the black leather Bryant platform peep toes delivered today and whoo-hoo these are unique and sexy shoes. Something kind of "bad girl" about them while still keeping a demure look. Wish they were all leather but hopefully the platform will add some stability and longevity to the sole because I have a feeling I'll wear these a lot.

Suzy, I like the idea of a big sale update online. Wonder how long it will take them to process all the inventory that is returned to the warehouse. Needless to say, some of us will be keeping a close eye on the site. I have my wishlist bookmarks in a folder, ready for stalking. LOL

  27. I just made an order with free shipping and will not be using this code. Just waiting for my Jcrew box to come.

OT- Caloo Callay, I've received a Jcrew catalog (first in years) and it's the "Ola from Portugal" one. I'm actually "saving it" to enjoy when I have time to look through it once straight through (silly me).

  28. Thanks for the code! Used it today on Sperry Topsiders in dark wood for my fiancé and platinum gold for me (waitlisted until April). We're having a very JC wedding, and I thought the shoes would make for a few good silly photos. Here's hoping we get a pic in the Wedding Album online!

  29. ShuLvr: did you get your regular size in the Bryant platforms? I have a hard time with shoes regards to sizing since I haven't tried JCrew platform heels. Thanks!

  30. OT/mention of Oprah wearing J Crew:
Oprah has been wearing a TON of J Crew on her show: recently saw the cinnamon Frances cami, then the pink ribbon rose corsage cashmere cardi and she loves ruffles so you will see her in last year's victoria long sleeve and cami versions..etc.
She wears a lot of the ruffles/silks under cashmere v-neck sweaters. I know she loves Ralph Lauren's cashmere..has it in every color under the rainbow.

  31. jcrewphd, I got my usual size in the Bryant's but I could have gone up a half size. I will stretch them out a bit for my larger left foot, just for comfort. Nice shoes though. Definitely worth it if you can get them with the 30% off and free shipping.

  32. savvyshopper: I have the Antique Bateau top and love it...so much so that I am keeping both colors that I ordered. I am wearing it in the Pale Camel color today and posted IRL pics on my blog.
