Debuts in March

As many of you have noticed and mentioned throughout posts on this blog, J.Crew has come out with a *new* Zebra tee.

In a previous post (click here), J.Crew showed a tee shirt that was white with an orangy-pink stenciled Zebra face. An anonymous reader let us know that the Zebra Tee didn't actually make it into production and would not be available for purchase. Instead of a zebra, the design was going to be a fish.

However, J.Crew's latest LookBook (click here) shows a new Zebra Tee. The new tee looks to have the same design- with the Zebra's portrait positioned in the same location. The major differences are (1) that new tee comes in different colors ("fresh orange" and maybe gray, which is shown in the image to the right) as well as (2) some fancy bead work.

I have to say, I like the tee in the gray. However, I'm so *not* a fan of the shirt in the "fresh orange"- there is just way too much going on with the bright colors for me. With that said, I think the orange version would look absolutely cute on any one of those girls modeling J.Crew Crewcuts. (Ah... to be young, cute, and get away wearing almost anything with style!)

What are your thoughts on the Beaded Zebra Graphic Tee? Do you "love it" or would you "leave it"? Did you already pre-order this Tee? Do you think it will come in the gray version?

  1. I like the grey but the orange with the zebra and beads and all that is just too much! (and I'm usually a fan of "too much"!) I say "Leave It"! I agree it would be very cute on kids though.

  2. HAHAHAHHAHAHHHAHHHAHHAHAHHHAHA. I am sorry, I don't think you heard me. HAHHAHAHHAHHAHHAHAHAHHHAHH.

    ReplyDelete
  3. What were they thinking? Hideous. I would not put that dreadful thing on my daughter. IMO, it's not even crewcut cute.

    ReplyDelete
  4. The zebra looks sad.

    ReplyDelete
  5. the grey looks like it has got a lot of potential actually, with a cute navy nicky skirt and a jackie cardigan.
I'd leave the orange alone... looks a bit scary to me.

    ReplyDelete
  6. The orange one would look great with my 3 inch lee press on nails, my 4 inch acrylic stilettos, and my 2 inch silver sequin miniskirt. The other girls would love it too.....you know....for their 'party'.

  7. The Zebra Tee in Orange is a definite NO for me. The Zebra looks like it's an Albino Zebra with the pink eyes and all. No Thanks!

But the Grey version (based on what I can see from the Look Book) has potential. I definitely like it a lot more thatn the Orange version. I need to see it IRL or on it's own (not under a jacket) to make an informed decision.

Definitely NO to the Orange Albino Zebra. Yuck!

  8. JCAs, can I please ask your help? Around the time of the January catalog (the mansion location), I recall seeing a fairly large clustered pearl necklace on a "bride" online -- the shot was basically just a headshot ending at the bust. There were a lot of pearls -- like the cluster but NO chain and more like a twisted bubble/sunray necklace ...

    and now it's disappeared!!

Does anyone remember this? The necklace was gorgeous and I want to design one similar but have NO PICTURES!

  9. orange = no. not very flattering. this tee doesn't look very J. Crew-y, if you know what I mean. I would've liked it in the grey or the pinkish-white that allegedly didn't make it into production.

    ReplyDelete
  10. OMG, I'm not going to wear it

    *EVEN IF* JCrew pays me.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I don’t know why, but wearing cloths in strong colors makes me tired… Strong color like orange takes away my energy. Orange with Zebra? NO WAY. I don’t know why J.Crew makes it into production. Grey has more potential though.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Bad. And sure to scare small children. At least in the orange. The gray might have a shot, but it won't be on me.

    ReplyDelete
  13. It's OK. But, I would never pay $68for it. It would have to be at a major discount. I miss the cashmere critter sweaters. I have the snowman for cold weather and the butterfly short-sleeve cashmere sweater for warm weather. I have not seen much of them lately. Maybe they did not sell well.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Gray or Orange (Pink or purple) I would not wear a tee with a zebra on it for anything! I think they are tacky items to wear. I am not a fan of most graphic tees for that matter unless you are a teenager. Not for adults...they are for kids!

    ReplyDelete
  15. This tee is ugly, the beading is way overdone IMO, not to mention the bright Orange color.

    ReplyDelete
  16. And how exactly do you wash/care for a TSHIRT that has that much beading on it? It probably weighs about 5 pounds. NO!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Jcbellemarie, are you talking about this one?

    http://www.jcrew.com/AST/Browse/WomenBrowse/Women_Shop_By_Category/jewelry/necklaces/PRDOVR~14503/14503.jsp

If so, I saw it on the web. If you are speaking of another, then I am no help. But I hope you find it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I don't care for this one, and I usually like graphic tees.

Maybe in the grey, maybe when it's on sale for $10.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'm looking forward to seeing the one in gray that's in the lookbook...I like it so far, especially if styled the right way. :)

    ReplyDelete
  20. Orange zebra? What did they do, get a prison top and put a zebra on it?

    *ducks*

    ReplyDelete
  21. I think the orange zebra tee would be best suited for little kids (with capris, chino skirt/shorts or one of JCrew's adorable ballerina skirts.) My children love visits to the zoo and zebras are one of their favorite animals. Who hasn't read How the Zebra Got its Stripes to their children? It would not be a "dreadful thing on my [5 year old] daughter." Bratz-like clothing would be dreadful for my daughter or any child. The grey would be toned down for adults provided it's worn with nothing else distracting. Yes, it would be tacky paired with the sequin skirt, press on nails and 3 inch stilettos. But really, is it the zebra tee that would take that outfit over the edge in the first place? It's like the cheetah calf hair shoes J Crew produces annually. One wouldn't wear them with other busy prints, right? But with an otherwise plain outfit they add a little interest. I'm certain that if it does become available in grey, FFM could use her creative talent to create cute casual outfits with it for visits with the kids to the grocery store, kids' soccer game, library, park and (Aha!) the zoo. If it is available in grey, I have a funny suspicion it would sell well.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I dunno...I prefer the gray for sure..but I think the orange could be cute with the right outfit..(and only on DEEP DISCOUNT!!)..FFM...we have a challenge for you?!! Can you come up with something that makes this t-shirt look good?

    ReplyDelete
  23. ugly. And I like beading, I have the gray tee from last summer with the white beading on it. To me, this one's just cheesy. The gray one doesnt look as bad.
On another note, I got the tissue rolling-ruffles tank yesterday in dark charcoal and I LOVE it. Put it on under a cashmere black jackie cardie and matchsticks with black ballet flats or black peep toes and it's just SO cute.

    ReplyDelete
  24. wow. i love bright colors but that zebra just doesn't look right to me. it looks lost and is probably wondering why it's on a t-shirt.

a big NO THANKS for me.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I agree with the comments, if it were a different color it could work. Orange is risky for a lot of people and adding all the glitter takes it WAY over the top. I'm sure I would hear snickers behind me if I wore that thing anyway.

I have said it before, sometimes I think they have "come to work drunk Thursdays" or something. Gad!

    ReplyDelete
  26. This must be J.Crew's April Fools joke leaked a little bit early. I really like the white/pink version and a gray version could work as well. I'm often impressed by how many items I fall in love with due to J.Crew's styling. They're really really good at it. I wouldn't be surprised if a few of us change our minds once we see this shirt styled in a catalogue.

    ReplyDelete

    JCAs:
Here is a secret... for all you waiting for an update, start clicking on several different items and when that item pops up, that right column will bring up "hidden" items where is says "our stylists also love"

I notice a lot of jewelry and accessories pop up. Try it out if obsessed like me.

    ReplyDelete
  28. **in the sale section I forgot to say :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. I don't wear orange anything. . . and I agree with Em that that is a whole lot of beading for a T! I'm excited to see it, I think it's cute as, say, a work of art - but deff not something I could/would wear

    ReplyDelete
  30. looks like it's for a kid... maybe they should have given this one to crewcuts.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I should add, I have nothing against orange, zebras, or beading, but this top is not working for me. Maybe if it were marked down to $15 I'd spring for it.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Seriously, even the most bold-color-wearing JCAs would have trouble pulling this one off. That bright orange.....GAH! I agree with the others - the gray version could be okay. But even at that I don't see this purchase in my future. (Even if it were free it would never see the light of day (of course it's glowing, so it wouldn't make much difference). Yuck!

    ReplyDelete
  33. OT..does anyone own or has tried the Victoria ruffle cami in petite? Are the ruffles too much? I really like how it looks but I don't want to seem like my face is drowning in the ruffles..thanks : )

    ReplyDelete
  34. It's so loud and not in JCrew style. The gray might be okay.

That being said, I would be open to purchasing way discounted ($9.99 at best) to wear around the house for the purpose of entertaining my children. :)

In public, nah. It's just wrong, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Love orange and beading but HATE, HATE, HATE this tee! Who do they think will wear this! We're NOT 7!

OT: Tissue Chiffon-Trim Tee is HUGE! DOWN SIZE! I ordered a small but I will definitely need a xs.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Well..... I think this is a no go for me! Not exactly how I want to present myself.

    ReplyDelete
  37. To all of the talented Polyvore artists out there (FFM, etc.): I challenge you to create a wearable outfit around this Zebra tee!

    ReplyDelete
  38. OT: J.Crew's website sale section updated right now. :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. I like zebras.

That said, the pink zebra on the orange shirt just looks sad. I am *remotely* interested in the properly-colored zebra on the gray shirt - but only at discount!

    ReplyDelete
  40. have there been any other JCAs that have found j. crew shoes in tj maxx?

i would love to know how widespread this is.

    ReplyDelete
  41. The site updated today right at 9:02 Eastern time. I got the Victoria blouse in white and the dotted Victoria cami. I have never owned any of these type of pieces that everyone has been raving about since the fall 2007 similar styles. I hope I like these ruffles.

    ReplyDelete
  42. i got the wool flannel watercolor dress in my size! : ) for 40 : )!!!

so excited. have been looking for this and the abstract rose for a while now.

im sorry...i just had to share with someone who'd understand the excitement.

    a.

    ReplyDelete
  43. OT, but my website stalking has finally paid off. I snagged up the taffeta a-line skirt in champagne this morning - Yay! Now hopefully it actually ships and I don't get the "news about your order" email (I hate that!)

Now, on to the zebra tee: I have to be honest and say I am a bit intrigued. Yes, the orange is hideous and the zebra looks kind of bummed out - but the beading looks really nice. I'm worried my left side would feel really weighed down because of all the beads though. I guess I'd have to see it in person.

    ReplyDelete
  44. It looks like I'm alone here, but I'd be open to wearing the orange one given very boring other basics (though maybe pink flats?). It's kind of fun. Definitely not something I'd expect from j.crew, though (though I didn't expect all their neon color cords either). But the one in the lookbook with b&w on gray is much safer and still cute.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Way to make a cute little zebra look demonic with those red eyes. Egads.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I agree with Ameilia - bring back some cute cashmere critter tees - I'd rather pay $100 or so (which is what they'd go down to on sale) for a cashmere critter tee vs nearly $70 for a tee shirt that is so delicate what with all the beading/ringspun cotton etc....Oh and I think the poor orange zebra has a disease. But yes, what happened to these cashmere critter sweaters...there have been none since a couple of long sleeve tees in Fall/winter 07....
    A :)

    ReplyDelete
  47. here are 2 zebra tee sets (3 options, actually)... how I might wear it:

    options 1 and 2

    option 3.

I tried, let me know what you think! :)

    ReplyDelete
  48. I just scored the Victoria blouse in white and camel stripe, and finally ordered the cluster ring in black! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  49. It literally hurts my eys to look at this tee.

    ReplyDelete
  50. la belle helene,

demonic red eyes, LOL! The more i look at it, the more demented it seems, haha.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Marietta,

I thought about the striped one too but ended up ordering the white one just now...

    ReplyDelete
  52. OT - Does anyone own the boucle penny jacket. I am eyeing it in black and just wanted to know if you love it.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Hi, shares...I like the idea but not the execution. What would have been so bad about a bright orange tee with a black/white beaded zebra? The pink version makes me think someone poisoned the poor animal and it is slowly dying on the person wearing the tee.

Maybe they will try again with different colors...

    ReplyDelete
  54. @ heather, i like the 3rd set =)

and looking at the enlarged photo now, the sequins are looking more scary to me. too much and too heavy for a tee? maybe if it just printed or embroidered, then it might be more palatable =)

    ReplyDelete
  55. leaderboys, I was utterly disappointed by the Penny jacket. I found it very tight in the shoulders & then so swingy in the body it looked like a teepee on me. I'm a D cup, though, and a swimmer, so I may need more room across the shoulder than others. I also just wasn't impressed with the jacket on the whole, though - I much prefer the boucle astrids.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Anon @ 10:16 - I have been eyeing the camel stripe for awhile, and I couldn't resist once it went on sale. I noticed when I ordered the white one that the red Final Sale statement never came up, so I am thinking if I end up not liking the white, I can return it! :-) Most likely, though, I will keep both. I have the dotted Victoria cami, and I love it!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Marietta,

I ordered the dotted one just now along with the white one. Never tried this style before. Hope I like it too. I ordered some Cheri camis too and a cashmere sweater and the dark gray Astrid boucle.

    ReplyDelete
  58. No way would I pay $68 for this T. Crazy, maybe if yu worked at the zoo or something like that.

    ReplyDelete
  59. fyi, somehow my 1+2 option set got mixed with option 4 (it saved over a draft? silly polyvore :P ). options 1+2 is now here.

    ReplyDelete
  60. To the two posters who inquired abt the Victoria Ruffle Cami ~ the ruffles are NOT too much. I worried about this too, as I am 5'4", but they are fine, just a pretty touch around the face; looks rockin under a cardi or jacket. The front pleats lie flat, so, I think that's why its not too much. I have the pink and navy, and always get compliments when I wear.

    ReplyDelete
  61. because this is not available yet, with an estimated ship date, they might be taking orders for it and seeing how many people WOULD buy it. if they dont get many orders, they may cancel all the orders that were placed. I work in product development and this is done all the time. it's a test to see if the product would be developed based on orders. just a thought.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Has anyone tried the Wendy skirts yet? :)

    ReplyDelete
  63. I don't think the orange looks bad but the pinkish sequins- at least it appears to be pink- that the zebra is made of is so fugly.

I just want to say thank you to J Crew for making something that I don't want to spend money on. You have really saved my wallet.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I think we could all pull off the zebra tee like this

    here

    Could be cute!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Usually I agree with this group, but not this time. I think the orange zebra tee is amazing. Interesing and unusual. Beautiful.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Okay, so it's not that bad. But the zebra does look incredibly sad. I'm not wild of the color choices, but I don't have anything against orange. Just not with all the crazy beading and DEFINITELY NOT for $68!!! Are you kidding me? Probably a dry clean only, which would cost you an arm and a leg to dry clean because of all the beading. And DEFINITELY NOT for crewcuts. I'm sorry, who in their right mind would buy their 6 year old a $68 T-SHIRT that is dry clean only? Seriously, that is just nuts. It would be destroyed in 2 days flat.

    ReplyDelete
  67. And speaking of dry clean only, J.Crew really needs to start offering some more sweaters, etc. that AREN'T dry clean only!! If you notice so many of the men's sweaters are MUCH easier to care for, yet 95% of the women's sweaters are dry clean only. So annoying!! I want easy-care stuff that looks nice too!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Amy, I live NOWHERE near an actual retail store, so I have to order everything. I have the Wendy skirt in navy (I was afraid from the online color that the pink would be too much? Now it's sold out in my size anyway). Anyway, I need a size 0, and it's still too big, but I took it to my seamstress and she's taking it in and it will be perfect! I LOVE it. I think it's totally worth the sale price now. Also, I have to every single J Crew skirt altered. Bah. But I still love the styles and fabric! (I'm 5' 1", and stores like to fit for the tall girls. . .) That's ok. Hope this helps you.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Um...yeah, I'm thinking the orange would be pretty tough to pull off...

    ReplyDelete
  70. Alexis- This is OT but I read in a previous post that you are a fan of the Odile bag in coral. I am too, but already purchased the Champagne color (and really like it) so I wanted to let you know that I just noticed that someone has a Coral Odile posted on E-bay. I haven't seen many on e-bay and would love a fellow JCA to snag it since I cannot justify 2 of the same bag! I love Zebra's and think that this shirt would be adorable on my 2 year old with some cute white denim shorts:) Well minus the beading!
    Twiga

    ReplyDelete
  71. Have to say this is a leave it for me!

Wondered if any JCA can help- I looooove the double wrap leather belt, but need to not spend $50+ on it (and want to wear it for a wedding, so can't wait for it to go on sale). This seems like something that Target or elsewhere would have a knockoff of- has anyone seen anything? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  72. nojcrewinjapan,

alas, no, the one I saw had a lot more pearls but arranged sort of like pearl branches coming off the main necklace ring, but not all radially like a "sun", more funneling towards the center. I sent an email to ashley@jcrew ; )

    ReplyDelete
  73. I LOVE the grey one. In fact, I have a task on my calendar for March 1 to check on its availability!

    ReplyDelete
  74. It isn't bad, but it reminds me of the Fruit Strip Gum zebra.

The orange one is better left to the 14 and under crowd.

The gray, on the other hand, might be more suitable for an adult.

    ReplyDelete
  75. *Fruit Stripe Gum.

I swear I make more mistakes in these comments...

    ReplyDelete
  76. FFM: While I'm not a fan of the tee, your Look 1 is AMAZING! You rose to the challenge! Although, at 41, I could never pull it off!

    ReplyDelete
  77. ha ha ha, totally fruit stripe gum!! Except diseased and sad. (:

Actually, as heinous as that shirt is, you all have managed to make look cute in your sets! I really like Heather's - the one with the pink flats. Those shoes could make anything look cute, I swear.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I don't mind the sweet orange backgound. I'd probably wear that color. But I am not really liking the pink eyes, and the albino-like zebra. I find the image kind of disturbing.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Nice try at the outfit, roxy! I think the best outfit would cover up the shirt as much as possible...

On another topic, I just ordered the Claudia metallic pumps, and when I got the e-mail notice, it said they were final sale! They weren't listed as final sale on the web site!!! I wouldn't have ordered shoes if I'd know that (although they are very cute). Does anyone have them, and know how they fit?

    ReplyDelete
  80. Love the orange on me but hate the zebra. I only buy graphics when they're on the slub or ringspun in the $5- $20 range, and then ONLY because I love the fabric. Seems like the sequins on this make it a fail too, since products like this tend not to be stitched too well.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Idc, I just ordered those a week or so ago (not FS). They haven't come in yet so I can't say about fit. But my guess is that your invoice will not be marked final sale. And if it were, you would probably be able to plead your case to CS for a return.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Wow. Very bad. In grey, it's wearable. The orange version looks like the zebra has rabies....so Not a look I wish to be sporting on my chest.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I *think* I really like this tee, but I won't be sure until I actually see it on a real person(on the model, it seems kinda slouchy). I'd love to have both, but I prefer the gray--

    ReplyDelete
  84. I'm in the final sale and there's a Dbl-serge Tuesday Trench in my petite size, but I'm not petite. For the JCAs who have this coat, is there enough room in the sleeves to be lengthened by a tailor???

    ReplyDelete
  85. haus frau: YES! It totally looks like the fruit stripe zebra. and if I remember correctly, that gum was gross and left a nasty taste in my mouth...similar to how the shirt makes me feel :) ick! I feel like they could have picked a better color combo, like blue or yellow instead of the orange, and keeping the zebra black and white--like nature intended!!!

    ReplyDelete
  86. I would pair the zebra tee with the Danielle sandals in either orange or warm blush.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Why would I want to wear a giant zebra head?

    ReplyDelete
  88. I know J.Crew's a fan of the colorful, but this seems way to clashy. I do dig the grey one, but it's a bit pricey for my recently-unemployed self!

  93. For those of you still looking the Target "JCrew-ish" pearl cluster necklace is on sale at Target.com for $5.49. FFM has a photo of it on her blog, and it's a very cheap alternative to the JCrew one.

  94. ok, just for fun here's my take. crazed zebra.
i'd only wear it to an event where everyone would end up really drunk. i'd take off the cardigan when everyone is good and plastered...could be interesting.

i have to say though. all this hype is probably just what jcrew wants. all this buzz just might make people want it (not sure if they will actually buy it though). it didn't really happen with the bug pin though. but i almost wanted the yellow one after a while ;).

vic: this page will show you how to make a link:

  97. great to see the Target pearl cluster necklace back in stock. I ordered two last week but they sent me two different versions. Same item number. The floral motif doesn't work for me - too fussy. Am returning it. Someone posted here that it comes in two versions - guess that's what they sent me!

    ReplyDelete
  98. See Gigi's website - there's a photo of the Target pearl cluster necklace with a floral bead instead of plain.

    http://gigisgoneshopping.blogspot.com/2009/02/pearl-cluster-necklace-j-crew-vs-target.html

The J.Crew necklace is plain, I believe.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Ha, Amy, I completely missed your post (and it was only two up from mine). What a day it's been!

    ReplyDelete
  100. Honestly, you guys could come up stylish ideas for the ugliest garment on the planet, lol. I want to see FFM (who's ideas I love, btw) come up with styling for a 1970's patchwork and lace mumu.

    ReplyDelete
  101. I prefer the Target pearl necklace over JC's - not only a matter of price but the JC version has a sprinkling of clear/crystal beads.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Twiga: Thank you so much for looking out for me and the Odile bag- that is so incredibly nice of you!!! :) I ended up buying the patent leather Quincy hobo bag in blue, so I really shouldn't purchase another purse! ;)

But thank you so much again!!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  103. Alexis: I also got the quincy bag in blue and love it! More than the popular peony color. I carry it daily and it takes in so much for a bag of its size, and is so comfy. I love the special shine the patent leather blue.

    ReplyDelete
  104. ITA with anon about the ugly clear beads on the JC pearl cluster necklace. The Target necklace has a much cleaner look.

  109. O/T: Crappy Quality Alert Ringspun Ruffle short-sleeve Henley #12678 - I just received my 1st Spring order and this tee was a disapointment. I ordered the Tea Rose, the color is nice more of a orangy-red than a pink-red. The tee is distressed around the neck, it will not take long to fray after been washed a couple of times. The tee is long and close to body fitting more than the other Painter Tees, you can see what you are wearing underneath you have to wear a cami underneath.

I also ordered the Painter Tee 12672 in the crewneck and this one fits well, and I love the aqua green color.

I splurged for the French Terry Hoodie 12661 and I love it. It is long but fitted you need to size up on this one, it will be perfect for long walks in the Spring.

  110. "graphic tees for that matter unless you are a teenager. Not for adults...they are for kids!"

Oh come on! I'm 42 and I wear the JC graphic tees... now my self confidence is shaken... JCA's: Any of you "over the edge" but still young at heart like me? Do you think we look ridiculous? :(

  111. I use the "handwash" cycle in my LG and air dry everything. Nothing has gotten ruined and I finally god rid of the dry cleaner's bill.

  112. This is my take...

    Zebra with Pink

I'd pair it with white and pink and I'd definitely need a good application of self-tanner! :)

  113. Just wanted to let everyone know that my local B&M (Garden State) did have the white zebra tee with the pink zebra on it. They also had other beaded tees with other animals, I think I saw a fish and a ladybug of some sort. They were very cute in person!

  115. OT - but I have some photos to share if anyone is interested:

    Trixie black polka dot heels
    Juliet iridescent pumps
    Short-sleeve v-neck cardigan in putty
Unknown J crew cardigan I picked up in the final sale rack after thanksgiving (can anyone tell me what season it's from??)

I also picked up a few cute items at Target a few days ago, including a Merona polka dot cardigan, an ivory jacket, and the pearl cluster necklace.

    (please forgive the photo quality)

  116. Garanimals. Anyone remember those? Now they just aren't on the tags...let's put them on the shirt...

I really believe these graphic animal prints are best left to the youngsters--under 30. I know how to dress better and don't have to rely on a graphic tee. Graphic tees to me say, "I don't know how to dress myself so I guess I will just throw on a graphic tee."

  117. YAY Thanks for the Target tip. I also picked up some cute suede moccasins.

I will try to get some pics and reviews of both once I receive!

i am expecting my Clara Cardigan and Pink Bria Cami tomorrow, hope the necklace will go well with either!

  119. anon@4:09/bg1980 - Your photos are great. The Trixie heels look really good and I like the cuffed jean. Not sure if you're intending to wear them that way but it looks like it works. I saw that polka dot cardi @ Target and it looked so sad I didn't even pick it up. It looks fantastic on you.

  126. I would pair this tee with the bright fuschia matchstick cords from this past winter, and the new orange-toe spectator pumps. THAT would be colorful!

  127. Anon @ 3:43: I'm 42 and I wear graphic tees, from JCrew, Old Navy, and even some from Delia's (gasp!). And as long as I have something to say and I'm still alive, I'll continue to wear them!!!

  128. Hi everyone! Does anyone know if the Jane crackle-metallic ballet flats stretch out? I am normally a 6.5, but these kinda feel tight. If they stretch, I will keep them but if not I have to exchange them for a size 7. If you know then please help! =)

  129. Casual Crew - Thank you for the information regarding the ruffle ringspun. I have been eyeing it. It looked distressed to me and I was worried about the fabric. I am not pleased with some of the ringspun this season. You saved me a lot of trouble.

    Thanks!

  130. Someone asked about the fit on the Wendy skirt. I tried it on at my B&M last week and had to pass. Wasn't flattering for my body. The pockets flared out in a most unflattering way. (I am a little round or curvy through the hips and butt.) I tried sizing up and the pockets still stuck out! JCA's with straighter hips or less of a bum, could probably pull the look off.

Also, the skirt hit me just above the knee (I am 5'-4"). So it may be quite short on a tall or leggy gal.

  131. I love that other JCAs appreciate great Target finds like myself! J. Crew is usually my first choice in clothing, but I'm often able to find awesome shoes and accessories at Target... and sometimes tops and outerwear! I LOVE Target!

  132. I am not a fan of the color orange in general so I think this is a leave it for me. Funny, though, I love yellow and they are kind of close!

Did I hit a nerve? Poor little baby.

I didn't pick on anyone directly like you did. I was just stating my opinion on graphic tees and that is what this post is about: a zebra tee

I think you need to chill. And don't worry about my self esteem. It is just fine and dandy!

  135. I like orange but the zebra doesn't look right on this one.

I would rather have a tee with a penguin on it.

  136. I wouldn't buy this...and I wouldn't even take it for free, much less buy it at a discount! Discount doesn't make it any less ugly!! :)
