J.Crew Factory: President's Weekend Sale

"Thanks!" to Bekah (in this post) who shared with us the news (and the image above over at her great blog) that J.Crew Factory stores are running a sale this President's Day Weekend. The stores will be offering 20-50% off select spring arrivals. This sale ends February 18th.

Happy shopping everyone!

  1. i was actually at the jcrew outlet yesterday and was not impressed at all... no deep discounts like they say, a small rack of clearance 30% off. the spring clothes were no big deal either - jackies 44.50 with 20% (which don't measure up to the catalog jackies at all), cafi capris for 29.50. they did have a lot of items (shirts, minis, capris) in that aqua/green paisley print (i forget the name) that i think someone else noted too last time they were there. i just walked out with a headband in that print. even the accessories were overpriced. they had the factory verison (which looked the same) of the wide patent leather belt for 29.50 with 20% and "knock off" verisons of the flower belts (with different flowers and colors then the online colors for 29.50-20%) and glass beaded necklaces with much smaller beads for 39.50-20%.

not to be negative, but i didn't see anything super great. sorry for the long post!

  2. Starla729: Thanks for letting us know your first hand experience with the sale. You just can never tell how great the sale will be from the email they send until you go. I think you saved a lot of us from making a special trip to the Factory stores. :)

  3. Thanks starla729. My closest outlet is 50 miles ... won't be planning a special trip anytime soon.

Still hoping for a sale online or at the b&m tomorrow.

  4. I live 15 miles from an outlet, so I might check it out. Can't hurt considering 2 of my jcrew online order shirts have holes in them already! If I'm gonna buy things that get holes so quickly I might as well try to pay outlet prices.

  5. Sorry, OT .... can anyone advise on the fit of the lulu peep toe heels? Are they TTS?

    TIA!

  6. i agree with starla. i live in CT and went to both the westbrook and clinton crossing outlets. the sale did not impress me at all. nothing much on sale worth my time! I also went to the new haven bm nothing there either... happy shopping!

  7. anon at 6:28 - that's where i was yesterday... clinton, ct, lol. i debated going to westbrook, but ran out of time. glad i didn't bother then!

  8. Another agreement with Starla. I went to the Wrentham factory store in MA, saw pretty much what she described.

I also saw rose chiffon tees with a much smaller rose (wasn't as cute as the original IMO) in a bunch of colors. They had some really pretty gold bangles with pave rhinestones, but I've stopped buying pave costume jewelry b/c the rhinestones always fall out.

  9. anon at 7:11 - i saw those rose tees too - i forgot about them until just now! they definitely were not as cute as the original. so many items seemed to be "knock offs" of the original like i said before... i didn't like them as much.

  10. Sorry o/t!

Has anyone purchased swimwear from Athleta.com? Considering but can't locate coupon for site. I'll pay shipping but if it's total junk I don't want to waste my time.

I wish JCrew would produce the rash guard t's and patterned tankini tops!

  11. J.CrewAdorer: no but we have Wii game "Outdoor Challenge" and it gives your legs a workout. Friends have the WiiFit and like it alot. Can't give any further details other than they said it was a good workout. I believe it based on the Outdoor Challenge game.

  12. Thanks for the reply!

My husband and I just bought a Wii as a Valentine's/Just because gift. I want to add on the Wii Fit.

Maybe it'll help me getting into some of those smaller size J Crew items :O)

  13. To the person who asked about ATHLETA swimwear: I have a couple of Athleta swimsuits and I love them! They fit great. I prefer tankinis over bikinis or one pieces and theirs are the best I've tried on. I have a fairly long torso and the tankini top and bottoms overlap -- thank goodness! Anyway, the quality is excellent and the styling is nice. I highly recommend them. Unfortunately, I've never seen a promotion code.:-(

  14. I'm in Palm Springs for the weekend and am thinking of making a stop at the Cabazon JC outlet to check out the sale. It's not out of my way at all but I'm wondering if it's even worth it. Have any California JCAs been to Cabazon lately?

    ReplyDelete
  15. I too have a long torso and the ATHLETA swim wear is FAB! The styling and quality are excellent plus they make some really fun (but not gaudy) prints. Good luck!
PS I have not been able to locate a coupon code for them either (wah)

  16. Oh...the outlets...
There is one nearby in Blowing Rock, NC (about 15 minutes away) and time after time after time I keep going and getting disappointed. I keep thinking, "oh, it's the closest thing I have to an actual j.crew nearby so I'll try it one more time!" Each time I just get angry with myself for trying again because the stuff, while somewhat cute, is cheaply made and the price does not reflect that. It's waaay overpriced for what you get, IMO!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Agree on outlet! I went this weekend, what a disappointment. The quality of the stuff there is so shoddy, and the prices are not impressive. I think you're better off w sales prices on regular retail items at B & Ms or online.

  18. I have a Wii Fit and LOVE IT! I don't know how much it will actually get me into shape, but it makes me feel like I'm doing something, and its really fun!

Thanks for the heads up! That whole mall makes me kind of nuts so I'm happy to skip it if there is nothing fab. BTW, if you ever make it out to Palm Desert, the J Crew on El Passeo is great. I think it is called J Crew Resort, so maybe they have slightly different merchandise. When I was there in January they had spring stuff out when the "regular" stores didn't. It's small but nice selection and a GREAT sale area!

  21. Jcrewadorer; I have both WiiFit and Wii"My Coach". One requires the Wii board (Fit), one does not . I would recommend getting both and starting with WiiFit- it will help you to begin and will make sure you do you exercises correctly. The other one will be an add on,b/c WiiFit has limited # of exercises. My Coach has much more but does not show you how to do them or does not control the way you do them.Feel free to ask if you want to know more.
    HTH!

  22. Hey, sorry for the OT, but some of the canadian jca's have been commenting on the super high taxes jcrew has been charging over the past few days, and when I spoke to someone online they said they were going to investigate the problem, but gave me free shipping on my order and would refund me the extra tax charge! so if there's something you really want, don't hesitate to call them!

    ReplyDelete
  23. There's a JCA here who deserves some public praise - Arely, from whom I bought an Amelia camisole recently, is a delight! It's just a lovely cami, and arrived at my doorstep faster than do J.Crew-official packages! A real treat. So glad we linked up on this blog!

  24. I have a bunch of Athleta swimwear and love it too. It's my favorite. Great quality and the CS is wonderful and helpful!!! Fabrics are nice and seams are sewn perfect.
They have a sale I believe on certain suits.

(This is an answer to the post about athleta swim suits)

  25. I just saw on the JCrew site that they are running a sale on their flip flops... Buy 2 or more and save 20%

  26. Hi everyone, I know this is totally off topic but I'm looking for a sherpa-lined puffer coat in S or XS. If anyone sees it in their local stores, could you please put it on hold for me or email me at MsDnlyn at gmail dot com. Thank you so much in advance.

  27. Thank you for the feedback on Athleta swimwear. I bit the bullet and placed an order, paying for shipping. At least I can exchange, free of charge, for the correct size if the sizes ordered do not fit. They have some pretty designs so if the quality/fit are good I'm sure I'll find something.

Thanks again! I knew I could count on this group for a response. Have a great week! :)

  28. Hi Bay Area JCAs: Sorry to be OT but I was at Jeremy's in SF today and there is tons of JCrew, some of it marked "sample". Lots of coats (know none of the names), flannel wrap dress in tiny sizes, pants, tons of cashmere and wool sweaters, suit jackets and blazers. No shoes to speak of. Usually the Berkeley store gets most of the JCrew so I don't know why the SF store has so much. I may check Berkeley tomorrow!

  29. Made a trip to Woodbury outlets (ny) and it wasnt bad. They had sweater jackets for 30 and wide selection of capris for $29.99. The crewcuts selection was pretty good. Given the quality of the outlet cardigans, I tend to stay away from them. The clearance section is another 40 off.

The manager said that they get more new stuff than their other stores
    to test the market.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Outlet cardigans are similar in quality to the ones sold at JC stores, both suck and not worth the price tag!

  31. I have 2 J.Crew Factory Stores nearby and haven't visited either one yet. I plan to eventually make it out to one of them, but don't feel like it's a high priority after hearing for months now about the poor quality of the merchandise.

  32. I was at the Limerick, PA outlets over the weekend and all clearance (anything ending in a .97) was an additional 40% off. Lots of cords and khakis. Lots of printed camis.

I did a return on a cotton long v neck cardi, the qualty just wasn't there. Ended up leaving with a gray heather super long tissue scarf for 12.99. Perfect for spring with a jackie and a tee. Love it and for 12.99 can't go wrong.

there was tons with the trastevere print from last year, but it was "off" and a little bit brighter, the way the outlet versions always are. they did have some cute ringspun v neck tees with ruffles around the neckline for 19.99. Personally, i like their cotton capris and for 29.99 they are decent quality.

  33. J.Crew really needs to rethink its factory stores. They should just have the stores be outlets, selling stuff from regular stores, rather than create an inferior-material product line that's always 2-3 seasons behind the regular store. The prices in the factory store are ridiculously high. No wonder the store was empty save three bored salesgirls and then little me when I stopped by last week.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I agree jcrew needs to rethink their outlet stores. They would be better off selling overstock at these outlets rather than spend $$s designing things of inferior quality for these stores. With the current stock of items showing up at various discount stores such as TJMaxx, they would have done better to sell them off at their outlets. They already pay for the venues, so I wonder why didnt they just off load their goods there?

  35. I have wifit and love it! it is really fun and worth every penny. enjoy!

  36. I had heard that the J.Crew Outlets were currently carrying the phoebe blouse from last year - does anyone know if this is true? i am deparatley looking for one, so any information is greatly appreciated!

    ReplyDelete
  37. anon at 12:43: yes, they are, in an orange and white and navy or black and white print. they are on clearance and there were a TON of them at Limerick, PA yesterday morning.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yeah! Thanks to JCrewLover, I got my phoebe blouse! It made my Monday!

  39. I picked up some fabulous items in Kittery this weekend. The clearance was 50% off plus my educator discount. Many of the clearance items were regular J. Crew items, not outlet...even though I was in the outlet. I had my eye on the cashmere ruffle neck cardigan in ivory and pink..it was going fast. I found it to run big. I needed the S! It was fun shopping and relaxing a bit.
