  1. I received the Moderne Sweater in Heather Grove (e1582) which is on promo -- lots of glowing reviews on-line, and I also really like the sweater. Colour is true to on-line photos. I can't describe the feeling -- it's a bit of a thicker merino, almost felted. I would definitely say size down. I wore it to work this week, and had zero pilling, which is rare these days!

I ordered the Shawl-Rib Cardigan Sweater in black (e3186) (which was at $99.50 when I ordered it, plus 25% off, went back to reg price).

I'm contemplating the Merino turtleneck sweater (e1275) -- lots of positive reviews for it as well. I may try sizing down in it, as it looks quite huge through the chest.

    1. Hi R - that's good to know the Moderne Sweater doesn't pill. I own the grey but haven't worn it yet. It's thick and warm; I don't feel the need to wear it yet because it hasn't been that cold in SF to wear it.
I agree, it is a different weave of merino that were all used to (Tippi).

    2. Hi JSR -- I really love the grey Moderne! I have been thinking about getting it as well, but wanted to see how this green one holds up. I hope it continues to stay pill free -- fingers crossed!

  2. Haven't purchased anything yet although I've been contemplating the Merino turtleneck sweater also. I haven't bought as much as I usually do from Madewell lately. I am interested in some of the flannel. Maybe there will be some sales on the ones I have an eye for (like the Flannel Ex-Boyfriend in Buffalo Check e4330).

    1. I ended up ordering the Merino turtleneck -- but decided to size down, as last year's version was a bit big all over. I also love that plaid shirt you mentioned -- I think Madewell has had some quality issues over the past few years, but their plaid seems to still be strong. The Penfield Chatham buffalo check shirt (e1452) is also excellent quality, but it tends to run a bit smaller.

    2. I actually have that same Penfield buffalo check shirt from Madewell in blue/black/gray in size L that has been sitting in my closet because it's a little snug for me. It's a great quality shirt and I'm sad that it doesn't fit. I should just sell it instead of hoping I'm going to lose some weight. LOL
