"Looking to VENT" with J.Crew

This is the weekly "Looking to VENT with J.Crew" post, a place to share our not-so-stellar experiences with J.Crew.

If you have recently experienced a frustrating situation with J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including poor experiences with purchases & orders, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  1. I got my two pom pom scarves and guess what??? They were priced at $75.00 so I called the store and made them adjust to match the catalog price of $69.50. It was about $9.00. I know it's not much but it is the principle of the matter. Of course, they were 30% off as well. Double check your price tags, J.Crew is sneaky. I do love both of the scarves and the temps are dropping so might be able to wear one soon.

  3. Anyone ever try to shrink a pair of pixie pants in the washer/dryer? I found some zip front pixies for about $20, but they are about 2 sizes too big. I'm wondering if throwing them in the warm wash (inside out and delicate cycle) followed by the dryer would do the trick.

  4. I went to the fancier mall store, about 1/2 an hour away further than the one I usually go to, as I thought they'd have more pieces from the new rollout. The store was understaffed with only 2 people working ("we forgot it was a holiday!") and the SA there had clearly not bothered to flip through the new style guide at all (had no idea what I was talking about when I asked about several of the edged lace pieces) and didn't know what blackwatch plaid was. Did not offer to take my items to start a fitting room, brought me a sweater when I asked about a collared blouse. SMH. I will stick with my regular store next time.

  5. Ummmm, I contacted Madewell regarding a Borderfree purchase to request a RMA (return merchandise authorization form), and the cost of return shipping that I received was $90.91. WHAT THE WHAT!!? I will ship myself.
