Styling the cotton cashmere stripe sweater and vintage red Regent coat on the blog today. Sweater is cropped, and I sized up one size.

Looks cute Heather but I wish Jcrew would cool it with the cropped stuff. I think they may be skimping on length to cut costs.
Delete@Shopping Celle, I believe the same. Nice stripes, colors, etc. but too short. So tired of “kids” stuff. Could be skimping on materials, nothing would surprise me and how interesting your thoughts about this. Thank you as always

ReplyDeleteItem BA486. I recently purchased this and asked for some advice as to what type of top to wear under it. It was most appreciated. I have tried numerous items with different necklines and nothing looks nice under it on me. So here’s my last resort, I would wear it closed, nothing under it(perhaps a silk camisole) and with a chunky gold necklace. I would also change the buttons to more goldfish tones as the buttons are slightly drab brass. I will try it on again pending helpful hints from all. Thanks so much.
Thanks for sharing Lynn. I keep checking that but know the neckline will be difficult for me. I think This info is enough for me to confidently forget it.
DeleteOne other thought, can you try it with a silk scarf? Maybe the polka dot one? 😉 I’d play with either a sink square tied tightly, a drapier triangle, or a longer silk scarf tied in a bow. Not sure. It seems like a sort of scoop neckline which is tricky for sure.
Suz, thanks. I have tried silk scarves and this is a good option. To really simplify things, I think I will send it back. Like it but don’t love it enough and all because of the neckline in me. Disappointed.
DeleteSimple is good. Better off sending it back if it doesn’t work. Is it because the neckline is too low, too wide, too round?
DeleteHere’s some news. The kitten heels advertised online are Made in Italy. Genoa to be exact. Ordered a pair for a friend and we will give our options after try ons. Note to self, there are many shoe manufacturers who are up in the hills behind Genoa and many make very well made shoes. These will be a test.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. Kitten heels typically make me feel like an elephant in pumps. Too much foot on too little heel. I do like the walkability though. Will check.
