This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.
So
if you have recently purchased,
or stopped by a J.Crew store to try
on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you
might be willing to share that
information with us in this post.
Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.
In
particular, if you could
mention a few of the noteworthy
details like fit, size, fabric, and the
like— that would be fantastic! Thanks
in advance! :)
I got the Liberty classic fit shirt in Annelise Floral. The print is stunning. I am short, so the whole shirt is long everywhere but that's not J.Crew's fault. If I could find an affordable tailor (I'm in Boston), I'd shorten it and maybe have the tailor make a hair ribbon out of glorious extra fabric). It seems cut like a man's shirt (no darts, etc), and I could do without the little pocket (what is the point of that?). All in all, fine for the $32 I paid.
ReplyDeleteThere is an affordable tailor, on Washington St., in Jamaica Plain. I forgot the name of the shop, but you should easily be able to find it in Google Search/Maps. You won’t get a price estimate until you see him in person though, he never gives me general price estimates over the phone.
DeleteThank you. I will look him or her up!
DeleteOh I'm excited to receive this Liberty shirt in Annelise Floral - just ordered it. Thanks so much for your review, I don't mind it being long, the print just looked too pretty to pass up for such an amazing price.
DeleteThe print is everything. It comes in a mask and (weirdly fitting) dress.
DeleteLooking for feedback on the wide-leg pleated chino pant, item BA292. Thanks friends.
ReplyDeleteCheri: I returned these because the 00 was just huge on me--like two sizes too large. I am very slender with a small waist and almost no hips (5'3" 100 lbs. or less). I do have other J.Crew pants in 00 that either fit or could be taken in a bit. Not these!
DeleteThe quality was good, IMO. If it wasn't for the extreme vanity sizing, I would have kept them.
Went to store yesterday for returns! Had to finals sale. They told me they wi t be sticklers about final sale but did mention they are doing me a favor. I did not even browse but lots of blend colors…. Peachy and pink
ReplyDelete25 off selected reg and nothing off sale. I did not look at sale either as I was in hurry
As I walked 5th ave the windows are starting to loom like fall. Lots of leather pants and sweaters…. ( Adria-window got me).
I do have my suede and leather leggings from Jcrew form years back so I think I will enjoy them!
Have few little things still coming but overall summer is over…. So sad
Kate did they say they will be or won’t be sticklers about final sale?
DeleteSorry typos! They said they not going to be sticklers but did mention 2 items non final sale. I was very appreciative!
DeleteBased on reviews here (thx Kate) I ordered the waffle shorts and sweatshirt on clearance. Hoped they'd be nice for fall lounging/pj's. And they are. Definitely heavier than you'd expect. I can sleep with the shorts and a tank and then add the sweatshirt if it's chilly. We like to keep the windows open when the cool air arrives.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a great use for those, I hadn’t even thought of it.
DeleteA couple of reviews from a small order. 1) Cotton cashmere cardigan (AX752) in crisp chartreuse. Love this but not for what I bought it for. Originally wanted this to wear to work with a pleated midi and white top but it’s too oversized and casual for that out. But it’s so nice and I think it will be perfect for weekends. 2) Ruffle neck classic fit chambray (AW215). Another winner for me. Chambray is not too stiff and the fit is nice over my large bust. Will be great for work or weekend. 3) Perfect fit turtleneck (H0553) in black. I like the perfect fit turtleneck over the tissue turtleneck. Really happy with this one!
ReplyDeleteI have both tissue and perfect and like both mostly for layering, but the tissue is definitely a little sheer, which I don’t mind. I of course have black.
DeleteJust received the Gathered tank midi dress in lime cherry blossoms
ReplyDeleteItem BA936. I'm petite (5-2) but I took the regular size as they don't offer petites. So it's a maxi on me. But then again, it's also maxi-esque on the tall model, so IDY. It's empire waist, and can trend maternity especially if you are a D-cup (like me), but the fabric is excellent (high quality, thick cotton) and I can see myself swanning around in it three seasons (Spring with a cardi, summer by itself, fall with a jacket). I think it would look particularly fetching with a white denim jacket but of course I don't have one of those . . .
Forgot to mention I got the matching hair accessory because, why not?
DeleteThank you for your feedback on this dress. Did you take your normal size? I want to size down based on reviews, but then I'm worried about my average sized chest (small C).
DeleteI took my normal size (00). I'm a 30D, which translates to a 32C or 34B. It's can look a tad maternity with the empire wasit (well maternity when it used to be less form fitting) but the fabric is just terrific. I think it's screaming to be paired with a white denim jacket to tame the volume at the waist.
DeleteI also got the Cabana oversized sunglasses in sky crystal (Item H8908). They are darling!!!!
