  1. This is OT but important and a tribute to a young SA named Maddy. Maddy worked at the Jcrew Palm Beach Gardens, Fl store until it closed in 2018. She was a delightful young woman who loved her job and customers as we all loved her. She worked very hard and was attending college and then went on to work at the Madewell store in the same mall. She and I had a wonderful relationship as she did with everyone. Put her heart and soul into everything with a beautiful smile. Every time I would go to Madewell the first thing I would do is ask if she was there if I didn't see her out on the floor. If she wasn't working I left and would ask when she would be back so I could see her. I saw her just a year ago this month and she and her father were happily chatting away. She introduced us and it was obvious they had this remarkable father-daughter relationship that many parents dream of. (I would frequently see her father at Jcrew) The other day when I returned her to FL I went to the Madewell and asked for her. There were a couple of new SA's there and said she passed away in March from Cancer. She died alone because of COVID restrictions in the hospital which made it even more heartbreaking to hear. I stood there in shock and disbelief said thank you and immediately left. Got into my car, burst into tears and cried all the way home. Maddy, you were and still are one of the brightest stars that ever flew into my life. Thank you for making my shopping days such a happy experience, your kindness, honesty and enthusiasm . Thank you dear angel for loving Tango the way you did and treating him as if he was one of your best customers, you know he loved you too. You will forever be in my heart Maddy.

    1. Oh, Lynn....That is just so tragic and terribly sad that her father couldn't be with her when she died. He must be devastated. Perhaps the people at Madewell would be willing to give you his address so that you could write the beautiful words to him that you shared with us.

    2. @MmeJaqueline, I had her personal phone number in my contacts and called it and hoped her father or someone else in her family might have answered it or her VM. Unfortunately this didn’t work. I’ve contacted a few former Jcrew employees and haven’t heard back. My last resort and really really hoping now is to call my contact @S and W over here who also worked at Jcrew. I believe she may have it. Madewell wasn’t helpful as they are all new employees including the manager.I will try to find who the district manager is in this area. I will keep trying and if worse comes to worse I will hire a private investigator to locate her father. Her family deserves even now more than ever to hear how much we loved her. As time passes people tend to forget. I will post when I locate him simply as a sign of relief. I will not give up.

    3. Oh Lynn, this is just heartbreaking. I know you’re not active on Facebook etc but I bet if you asked you could have someone find someone who knows her dad. What a terrible situation.

  4. @Suz, thanks Suz for your suggestion. I was able able to find her family and phone number. I was so upset I didn’t even think to look further. I had forgotten her last name but located it. There are some beautiful photos of her on Madewell’s local site. I will telephone her father shortly. Her name is Madison Micochero. 🙏💔

    1. God bless you! It’s must be awful for the family! It was the hardest thing to see patients die without their families and was very new for all off us caring for them! Even when we would allow, some families were scared to come in! Thank you for taking cate of this nice family! Extremely hard especially when so young and taken to cancer! Thank you for doing this especially in such hard time! 🙏

  5. @Kate, Falan, Please no need to thank me. I’m not the one who deserves the thanks. Her family deserves thanks as well as Maddy. They raised a beautiful kind daughter who passed kindness as well as laughter to all who her. Thanks to all of you here for remembering such a wonderful Jcrew employee even though you didn’t know her. You’re all such wonderful kind people yourselves and I consider you a Flock of Angels and don’t ever lose faith even in the darkest of times. Have a wonderful day and stay safe😘
