J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. I bought AU255, the Classic-fit boy shirt in colorful plaid flannel, when it was $29.50. I ordered two sizes and ended up keeping the larger size. The shoulders were tight. It's very pretty and was the only thing that caught my eye when I went to pick up some orders at the store a few weeks ago. I did receive one of those $10 coupons in the package. I wonder if there's a minimum order to get a coupon. If I had ordered one size, would I have received a coupon?

    1. It is thin though. It's not a thick flannel.

    2. No, it's random. I received a new coupon in a package with an item I ordered for $0.40 with the prior coupon. But the $32 dress did not have one.

    3. I’ve been receiving packages everyday and finally received 1 $10 coupon. It must depend on the mood of the person filling your order.😂 I was starting to feel left out. I’m holding on to mine hoping for a good Cyber Monday sale.

    4. These coupons don’t work since yesterday! I added it applies. I log in and it can’t be used. CS did apply for me yesterday. But idk why it’s not working! I tried multiple items. Not working. I got 4 packages yesterday and got 2 coupons. But I can’t seem to use them. Does anyone know any tricks? Thanks all!

  2. OT - Anthro shoppers, does anyone remember if Anthro offers a better discount than 30% off purchase for Black Friday and/or Cyber Monday? The best I can remember is an occasional 40% off for sale items only. I have some big ticket items to make (furniture) and want to offset the $$$ furniture delivery fee as much as possible.

  3. As of this morning, the waffle joggers are finally eligible for the 50% off promotion, so I bit on two pairs of those. 100% cotton is hard to find these days, and I need not-too-sloppy replacements for my decade-old "Saturday pants," which are starting to wear thin as the 2020 work-from-home situation brought them back into heavy rotation.

I am continuing to hold off one the one pair of sale shoes calling my name, though. Playing a game of chicken with myself to see if the base price drops further and/or the sale-on-sale promotion hits 70% on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

    1. I hated the waffle joggers because the knees get terribly baggy almost immediately without doing much in them even just trying them on at home (and they run huge.) I returned them and am hoping the cotton cashmere joggers are better when they finally ship. They are included in the 50% off now, too.

    2. I think there are two different waffle joggers,
Last Years pajama waffle joggers are short and wide. I. Think the current waffle joggers look like they might be more flattering but. Not sure

    3. I never tried last year's pj waffle joggers - the one's I had and returned were this year's. I usually take a L if they run small, so I tried that first, then a M, and even got a S which fit, but the knees got super baggy on all of them immediately must bending my knees a couple times. They look great at first when you find the right size but the baggy knees makes them look really sloppy to me.

  4. Toronto-area JCAs - the Yorkdale JCrew is taking appointments for private shopping during the current retail shutdown. Show them some love in their last weeks in business!

    1. That’s wonderful! I wish I lived nearby as I’d def do that! I was told they’re also offering curbside but I don’t think they can do send sales right now which is how I usually buy from them since I live hours away.
Do you know if they’ll get anymore shipments?

    2. Jan, I was up there last week and they were certainly expecting to continue to get shipments through the beginning of December. After that they were going to shift into holiday sales and then clearance ahead of the late-January closure. I will be making an appointment for sure!

  5. Styling the red mockneck sweater in supersoft yarn and 9" vintage straight jean in medium vintage wash on the blog today. Both run TTS. Wearing size small in the sweater, and my true 27 in the jeans.
