Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Aside from needing to do a return one of these days, I really need to cut down on the shopping... So I think I'm going to unsubscribe to every email that comes into my inbox. I'm also trying to clear out my closet and sell or goodwill stuff. I just have so much stuff.

    1. @Miss JR. Same here. I reorganized my closets last week, and it took forever. It was like an intervention for me. I have too much of everything, and I don't have the lifestyle to justify it. I am giving some things (high end items) to the American Cancer Society's Discovery Shop. What really needs to happen is 100% cessation in all categories: clothing, shoes, handbags, accessories. I felt rather disgusted with myself.

    2. I got to the same point at the end of 2018. I have been doing much better with clothes and shoes. Problem is a simply shifted my spending over to beaity items. I really need a year of low buy on everything in 2021.

    3. Same! I switched seasons this week in my closet and I'm out of room, although I always have this problem each winter because cold-weather stuff is bulkier and takes up more space. But imagine my shock when I emerged with like... 10 cashmere sweaters and about a dozen merino wool sweaters, all from JC. I live in the Northeast so it does get cold here but I do not need this many! Why on earth did I buy a neon peony cashmere sweater?!? I don't even wear such bright colors! I tried to put a limit on my JC spending this year but failed by September. I too am disgusted with myself.

    4. Starting September 1, I decided to see how far I could go without buying new clothes. I didn't put a limit or anythin. I did buy a pair of navy heels and a bag but other than that I bought nothing in September. So far, I have bought no clothes, shoes, jewelry, or accessories in October. It is strangely liberating. No more returns and rebuys. Sometimes I fill up carts but don't check out. I think if something amazing catches my eye, I may pounce. But knowing I'm breaking a no buy makes it easier to resist.

I have been spending money on other things though - just bought a new pot. So I'm not being an angel . . .

    5. I, too, have been buying a lot fewer clothes. I'm never going to cross over to be a sweats and athletic shoes dresser (except for maybe nursing home years, I've joked to friends) but I'm not really excited by any of the clothes these last couple of years. I feel like I've seen and worn a lot of the styles before. Maybe this is when you know you're middle-aged? I remember my mother used to shrug about certain clothes I liked and compare the styles to something she'd worn growing up. I really miss seeing things on the website that I felt like I had to have, even if I knew I couldn't afford everything I liked. It was fun to put outfits together and weigh purchases. These days it's more of a "Sigh...maybe I can make this work."

I picked up my items yesterday. I was really only pleased with my non final sale items. The pointelle cashmere sweater seemed to be pilling right out of the bag. The other stuff I bought like the twill blazer, jeans and flats were the best items. These were cheap and not final sale. I was also able to purchase a Liberty shirt that I would not have considered from the pic online. It was 50% off but final sale in the store. Of all the final sale items, I was really only pleased with the sunglasses and earrings. I've managed to avoid final sale for years but I took a chance this time and I was really disappointed, once again, with most of the fs items.

  4. As others have noted, today's promo is meh and a let down from the hyped email. Good news is at least we know what the promo is for Black Friday.

Received last item from my sale orders, oversized cashmere v-neck sweater in heather camel. Fit is tts; fit is relaxed, but not sloppy. Cashmere is soft and not itchy. Can be worn alone (v-neck isnt't too deep) or layered with previous J Crew options like Italian cashmere long sleeve tees.

    1. wow....promo not extended to Canada. darn

    2. did email suggest it would be better? just curious.

    3. Yes, email was referencing something “big” and urging you to fill your cart. So, created false hype, IMO. Don’t get me wrong, 60% off sale is a very good sale, but when you’ve had 60+20% and Cardlove to stack, this sale is a snooze. #firstworldpeoblems

    4. Thanks for the reply...I hope Canada gets a black Friday promo

      Delete
    5. I’m worried that Canada will only get 30% off since we haven’t had any good promos and barely any to begin with.

      Delete
    6. I hope it matches the US promo.. and I will place a order .

  5. I was able to snag the Parker blazer in ivory plaid Italian wool, #AQ234 for $32 shipped. I had a birthday gift coupon code and some rewards I was able to use. For that price, I'll take the chance on the final sale.

  6. A friend of mine works in buying for TJ Max/Marshalls/etc. and he said they’re having a real crisis on switching what they buy as NO ONE wants anything other than “athleisure” type clothing (he also said HE HATES that word, haha). He said one thing that is really at its lowest price point in decades is luxury bags and purses. While I know we are all in this (hopefullly!) short term pandemic mode of WFH, I wonder what will happen fashion wise when we emerge? Athleisure forever? Ugh.

    1. Interesting but not surprising!

    2. Agree. I go to work 3-4 times a week but even what I wear is much more casual. Less blazers, more sweaters! I am looking for a back pack, since I carry a laptop! I have a henri bendel and now Use a big Tory Burch tote!
I want to be able to have one bag and carry all my stuff including a small lunch! With pay cuts and no overtime I been bringing lunch and only buying coffee or water.
The sweats at home do get to me. And for my non admin days I wear scrubs! Problem is we don’t really do anything outside of home or work. We went to dinner once late August since March! I am hoping for vacation but still don’t have enough balls to fly. Lol

    3. For me it’s been happening for awhile. When I do rarely see clients I dress neat but could be going to a construction project where it’s dusty so appropriate shoes are necessary.
When we did go out to eat often (pre-Covid) we park a few blocks away so as much as I love wearing heels, I realized they need to be more sturdy.
This weekend we are going to visit our daughter and her college town. We will be hiking, visiting wineries and spending most of our time outdoors. I decided the chateau puffer parka is the best coat option and I was thinking when we do dine out again it will most likely be outdoors so we are going to have to be warm and comfortable. Heels may not be worn at all this year.

    4. I am not surprised either. My friend and I had the conversation about professional dress and what if any industries will go back to it at some point. It is also probably why all the nicer dresses were $10-$20 the other week. They can’t give them away. I purchased the resume dress in tweed for $12.80. It fits great and I love the colors but I still feel guilty buying it as I have no idea where or when I will wear this dress. I put several others dresses in my cart and am glad I removed them.

  8. I did get my tiger dress. It’s pretty. Has navy base. I do like it but not sure where I would wear it. It’s little louder then I usually wear. But for $10.24 will try to make it work! Almost seems like a holiday party at office. No parties this year! Everything is remote due to covid restrictions!

  9. Well the gray chateau parka saga has been resolved. Returned it this morning. Just didn’t think I’d wear it. I will definitely try one of the other colors. Need to decide while it is 50% off this weekend (but do we really need coats - I’m WFH likely until at least next summer unless something dramatically changes). I like the new chartreuse color. And love the fair isle sweater shown with it. Hoping it’s cashmere. My collection cashmere fair isle in navy and pink from a few years ago is one of my all time favorite sweaters! In store I saw the new lace button down blouse. Like the tawny color!

    1. Glad you were able to make a decision that was right for you. My university has decided not to offer face-to-face classes at our branch campuses, so I’m going to be WFM until at least mid-March. Good luck on your coat hunt! I purchased a Moncler Agatelon last year, so I’m not allowed to buy one for YEARS (LOL)!

      Delete
    2. Ohhhh Moncler coats are gorgeous! Yes, meant to say I will be WFH for foreseeable future. Didn’t mean to say we. I know so many are out there keeping the rest of us safe. Eternally grateful for those who work in person!

    4. @Kate, too bad you’re not over here. They’re on sale in Italy for €500-600. My humble opinion they’re overpriced and overrated unless you find them for what I posted pricewise and they’re as common as having an iPhone.

    5. It has been good to see Herno become more popular in the US. Once something becomes ubiquitous it loses interest. Where I live it is Canada Goose and an LV bag!

  10. Kate! Get yourself a pretty rolling suitcase. I go to work twice a week and have to carry a laptop and all kinds of random paperwork (in binders) plus my breakfast, lunch, and water. I've just been using a gorgeous little IT rolling carry on with a pretty floral print that I got at TJ Maxx.

    1. Tuesday Morning used to carry a great selection of rolling laptop bags. My closest store is still open but I'm not sure how many are still around

    2. Also Athleta has great backpacks that have several useful pockets. End-of-the-season prices prove to be very helpful on the wallet!

    3. I love my henri bendel. It fits laptop and many other things! But I can’t fit lunch! I was hoping for cute and useful!

    4. I love my Longchamps for size and versatility. I got a personalized option in the large tote size which I use for everything—leisure, work and travel. I can easily fit a change of clothes, toiletries, IPad etc. I’ve had it for over five years and have never regretted it.

    5. I have a large grey. Worn out to holes now and navy medium! I may end up with that one! It’s lite and can fit so much!

    6. @Kate, I have a lot of the Longhamp bags and customized my large ones. Of all my bags I tend to use these the most. The large ones @Suz are so practical and lightweight and you can stuff so much into them. There’s a seller in NY where I would.purchased them from good prices when on sale, free shipping and no sales tax. Sandspoint

    7. Hi all! Thanks! That might be my solution. Lynn which seller ?
Sometimes Bloomingdale’s has 20 off. I still thinks it’s great price! My old one is at least 5 yrs old!!
I never personalized mine before! But when my current one ripped I was able to patch it with cute
Embroidery.... lol.... to cover the holes!

    8. Lynn, so funny! I believe I purchased from them as well. My personalized one I ordered direct through longchamp and supposedly they will only repair bags they sell directly now.
When I was buying my first longchamp there was a company that was selling off all their merchandise at a discount and I bought several from them. My last one was also purchased through longchamp and it’s a leather le pliage in red with a cool cross body strap. Unbelievably it’s still light.

There is a luggage shop not far from me that I’ve read does a great job adding grommet holes to the leather tabs so you can add a cross body strap to the bags that don’t have them. I’ve run through airports holding my duffle in one and and with my large tote on my shoulder and it’s not a bad idea. 🤪

    9. @Suz, wow clever you. I’m going to do the same. The red bag you purchased is beautiful. I remember the bag. Sorry I didn’t purchase it. I looked at Sandspoint and it appears they may not be selling them anymore.

    10. Wow you’re right. I’ve also purchased from Bagshop.com

    1. @Wellfedfred, lovely classic items. Your post reminded me to pull out my Pink Pony zip sweatshirt from about 25 years ago which is still in perfect condition, a beautiful lavender Collection men’s cashmere sweater which I purchased for next to nothing and by beloved equestrian purple label vest NWT for $69.00 on eBay a few years ago. The original price on this was over $700.00. When I wear it around women ask if it’s a new or old Hermès item. I simply give them a smile and a nod.

    2. @Lynn, yes, these pieces are treasures! I’m going to be stalking that paisley shirt.

    3. @wellfedfred, Correction, Collection Blue Label vest. It was reversible with lots of green. I will wear it when the sun comes out tomorrow here. Is this paisley blouse you are referring to the Collection Sonya? If so it’s gorgeous. May we find the best deal available sooner than later:)

    4. @wellfedfres, I’ve been checking around here in Europe and the blouse is all but sold out. There’s a price differential of approximately $400.0 with VAT. I’m going to call them in Italy and see what it would cost cash only. When one pays cash here they’re far more willing to give you a far better price.
