  1. Wore my postcard print midi skirt yesterday (G5308 regular/G6401). Every time I wear that skirt, I get compliments - sometimes from strangers. Who knew that a print with bananas, citrus fruit and guitars could be so great!

On a different note, I have been following the bouncing prices on the website. Prices seem to have been ratcheted up on many items. The famous sundrenched peony mocs - previously $38.99 Cdn before promo code are now $159.99 Cdn before promo code.

    1. Wow, that’s crazy about the Mocs! I’ve noticed some items that were previously on sale have changed to a higher promo price (not ending in .99 anymore). I hate the price changes and as others have said I really don’t like the PA policy now. Since Canada never ever gets free shipping these things combined are affecting my shopping.
PS Glad you love your skirt! I feel the same way about my regatta skirt from last year I believe.

  2. My love is the denim pencil skirt in frosty sky wash. It is so flattering - fits perfectly - TTS. I also ordered a few no.2 pencil skirts when they were on promo. Not loving a lot at JC, but these skirts are great staples.
I have really been loving Madewell's sale instead. It is now 40% off.

    1. oh shoot! I placed a madewell order yesterday when sale was a lower percent off. Is MW still doing PAs or have they also adopted the new stricter policy?

    2. I called and no PAs on sale items. :(
I'm happy with my purchases even at 30% off, but a PA would have been nice.

    3. oh darn. I couldn't remember if it was 20% off sale yesterday or 30%.. if it was 30% I'm ok with that too. A lot of their totes are on promo now so I got a few to try. I don't mind risking things when it's not FS and free return shipping.

    4. Thank you for the heads up. I have been wanting silver flat sandals and they had them, which I didn’t know, plus only $24!

  3. Wearing the drapey tie neck sleeveless top in leopard print. It is thankfully very light given today’s humidity, but not sheer. I got it in tall size despite my petite proportions to make sure it will stay tucked in. Looks great, the fabric is poly but doesn’t feel icky, and isn’t slippery so the bow stays tied. I can see lots of styling options for it.

  4. I received my order of the 24.50 less 40% items.

    1. Tie front tank top L8137 The bold red is more orange than red. This is an adorable top. It runs large, the S fits me loosely. Love the elastic waist in the back. It's a little low cut for me for work, have to try it out with a tshirt underneath. Even if I only wear for weekends it is a keeper.

    2. Women's 1988 rollneck™ cropped sweater in dot L5875. Based on reviews I sized up to M which is a good call. It's a bit boxy, but the all cotton knit is loose and soft enough to drape. The sleeves are bracelet length. This version is navy with giant polka dots. Cuter than I expected, a keeper.

3.Pencil skirt in stretch denim L4790 Clean indigo wash. When my husband saw it he said "I'm not a fan of denim skirts" but after he saw me wearing it he changed his mind. I took my smaller size 26 (there were no 27s left when I ordered). It fits TTS, the waist is perfect. It is not loose in the rump or hips, but I think a size up would be too large. The denim has some stretch, so this is easy to wear. I like the medium not-distressed wash - I could wear this to work with a loose top or a short jacket. I wouldn't have picked at full price, but it is also a keeper.

    4. Trumpet skirt in Liberty® Favourite Flowers L4855. This was not my usual style, but with the price and no final sale I decided to try. I took my larger size 4 based on reviews. Good thing, the 2 would never have fit. The waist is fine, but the trumpet shape does cling to your assets if you know what I mean. I do think a 6 would be too large, since the waist is a good fit. The fabric is lovely, cheery and light. I was afraid of a Little House on the Prairie vibe, but with the bright colors and the well shaped ruffle it looks fresh and dramatic not old-timey. Keeper.

    5. Button-up romper L8128. This was the wild card. I ordered a 4 and a 6. I'm a 4 or 6 in tops and a 2 or 4 in pants. I did not even open the 6, as the 4 is quite roomy on top and in the bottom. I like the loose fit, as it keeps this romper looking mature. I have the frosty olive (all pink would have been a lot of pink...). It needs a bright scarf or earrings for contrast. Surprised the hubs liked it a lot and said it made me look slim, which means automatic keeper. The crotch does run a bit low on me, as I am short waisted. But that also means a bit more leg length than I expected. I'm going to try it out with some of my other belts. It reminds me of a jumpsuit I had in the mid-1980's that I loved.

Finally I received my size 6 Collection hand-beaded mini skirt K4498. This fits like I thought the 4 (my larger size) would. Loose enough that it falls a bit below my waistline and gets a little extra length. The backside is not baggy, but it does not cling and falls cleanly. Beautiful skirt, worth making occasions to wear. Great with a black top and pumps. Boots for winter. Love love love. Most elegant garment in my closet. It was a splurge at $250, but the quality is perfect. It's eye-catching but more subtle than many sequin skirts or dresses. So this is 2 sizes up from my smaller size.

    1. I think the 40% discount on the 24.50 items must have been a mistake, because usually on items ending in .99 get the sale discount?

    2. Thanks for the review of the Denim Pencil Skirt. I’m hoping to pick one up if the drop the price to $24.50 again.

    3. Glad the beaded mini worked out! If you love it, it’s worth all the $$.

    4. Yes, I hope to wear it for dress-up for a long while.
