Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. New arrivals showing up when you search by item type, including a new ratti print.

I stopped into the store to do a return (white denim jacket - runs really small) and order pick up (gingham dress - might return. Whoever designed this has the buttons not totally connected right over the busy with about .25 inch gap. I’d need a tailor to move all the buttons. Who would wear it like this?).

The tie waist button down in rainbow stripe is cute but loud. The blue ratti print is even more gorgeous in person. Love the away from my desk tee. I didn’t try anything on because the store was about to close in 10 minutes. Definitely some things I love right now.

Which designer do you think is this collection? Worried this is the old designer and we will start to see major changes just when I think the brand was slowly turning around.

    1. This is still the old designer. Chris Benz’s stuff will be out in the spring.

  3. Checked out the new arrivals. I always find at least a couple of things to wishlist, not this time though πŸ˜•

  4. I like the kaleidoscope floral. It’s loud but fun. Wish they did a simple trouser or chino short instead of the tie waist. Maybe there will be a bandana I can add to my collection, would work well with OUR peony driving Mocs. πŸ˜‚

    1. I do like some of the simple jewelry, like the pave moon necklace. I def have enough chunky necklaces I don’t wear often but might make room for something more delicate.

    2. The promo still 30 off but the dates on it 5/11-5/12.... not sure why they didn’t update

    3. Thank you for sharing your link. I like it also, but hope it is not the same stiff cotton that they used last year on all their long maxi dresses (yellow/white stripe, blue/white tripe, etc).

Those spaghetti strap jumpsuits with the tie waist are looking pretty tired. Hasn't everyone interested in one already bought it at this point?

I actually like the flamingo embroidered tee. But I have a J. Crew flamingo tee from last year with the tags still on it.

  5. The "Daily Deals" seem to have disappeared. Maybe it's for the best.

I am also relieved that the pickings are slim and the discount is not that exciting.

I don't need anything and really need to do a serious purge. I keep telling myself not to check the website. But then I fear missing the great deals (which I don't need) - like the peony driving mocs! For those of you who occasionally read the posts by the Frugal Male Fashion crowd over on Reddit, maybe the peony driving mocs will become our equivalent of their hotdog key chain or our whale tray :-)

  6. I received "your order is on schedule" emails for both of my Friday orders only to receive a "wish we had enough" email for one of the items I ordered. The white peplum button up was canceled. We'll see how the shoe orders go!

    1. Oh no. I hope you are able to find another!
I placed 3 orders and received 3 corresponding "your order is on schedule" emails.

    2. @cheritheberry same here, just got an email that one of them shipped, so hopeful for the other two orders.
Peony driving mocs are still ‘on schedule’ #fingerscrossed

    3. I received an email that the peony driving mocs & liberty top in belle flora shipped & will be delivered Wed. Yea! I thought the driving mocs might not ship since everyone ordered thoseπŸ˜‚

    5. Still waiting on my Friday order to ship. Did receive the "your order is on schedule" email very early this morning. I ordered the cobalt driving mocs & really hope they ship!

    6. 2/4 of the items from my first order have shipped - sleeveless denim top and two tone denim jeans (waiting on two pairs of shoes from that order). This is the part where the five pairs of shoes ship separately and I am subjected to great judgement by my local UPS store :D (I kid, they are actually pretty cool and know that the J.Crew and Rent the Runway packages are mine!)

  7. Like the ratti print and linen items. Am guessing the rollout is tomorrow then - maybe there'll be more items and a promo... past few rollouts have been pretty good in my opinion but not cohesive. I'd like to see more classically elegant designs and more colors offered in many of the styles.

  8. This morning when I looked at the new arrivals this promo code popped up for 30% off "select styles". Looks like it's disappeared, but it's still working! 5237QVJ194G

  9. Not in love with the new rollout but the flamingo tee is cute. I'm glad the embroidery goes to the back too! I hate when they cut corners by only doing the fronts.
That said, I set an annual limit on my JC spending and I'm already halfway through even the the year isn't half over. I need to cut down some more. It's so hard to break the daily cycle of checking the sale section - someone help!

  10. Happy Monday, JCAs. I just finished re-reading The Curated Closet. If you haven’t read it, it will be the best $15 you ever spend on your personal style and your wardrobe!

This will be my last JCA post. I’ve lost the love and I need a permanent break, as many other longtime JCAs have quietly done before me. Constantly checking the site, stalking, spending on items I don’t love or need, worrying I might miss out on the next peony driving mocs ... it’s not serving me well to spend so much time on J Crew stuff when I’m only happy with about half of what I buy, and the other half is mostly disposable.

I have loved this community for years, and that is why I’ve stuck around long past the days when I actually loved the clothes. I will continue to root for a true comeback for the brand and in the meantime, I wish you all the very best!

    2. @ruffles, I wish you the best! It’s sad to see you go, I’ve been reading this blog for over 10 years. Even though I’m not as addicted to Jcrew as I used to be I still really enjoy this blog and community. 😊

    3. Thanks for the nice goodbye message, Ruffles! I totally understand everything you’re saying. I took a 6-month break from JCA last year for the same reasons. I’ve reached the limits of what my closet can hold and need to re-set my shopping habits. Good luck with your closet curation!

    4. going to add that book to my reading list right now! Just finished Bad Blood and need a new read.. and if it helps me break this JC habit., all the better! Thanks ruffles!

    5. I love The Curated Closet, too. I took it out of the library multiple times, then purchased the book and the accompanying workbook. The author, Anuschka Rees, has a new book coming out tomorrow titled Beyond Beautiful: a Practical Guide to Being Happy, Confident and You in a Looks Obsessed World. I will definitely be picking up that one, too.

    6. I’m adding to my library list, (wanted to get in there anyway) but just from reading the excerpt I don’t know if it will help me that much, although like everyone I do have some closet regrets I just had to have an don’t have much use for.
Good luck ruffles, you’ll be missed

  11. I absolutely loved the rainbow items! The Ruffle-strap tank sweater in rainbow stripe and corresponding skirt are such great quality and very trendy but will be perfect for many occassions for me this summer (with wedding showers, festivals, etc). I also purchased the slim tee in the rainbow stripe. I like the ratti print but not enough to purchase yet. Might make some swim purchases while they are 40% off. Hopefully the urbanstems or other codes are still stacking.
