Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. J.Crew has 50% off sale merchandise today with promo code HISUMMER. If you missed the previous suede driving mocs $15 deal, or like me, you want all the colors, you can pick up the bright cerise mocs for $24.99. The few remaining sizes in peony and sapphire are the same price. I was unable to combine HISUMMER with the most recent retailmenot code, but with my $5 in rewards, the price was under $20, so I’m happy.

    1. Hi, Jeanne. Thanks for pointing out the bright cerise mocs. I was so blinded by the discounting on the peony and saphhire ones that I missed these the first time out I went back to look and they look great. Probably my favorite of all the colors. Then I realized that they are discounting differently in Canada vs the US. They were $100 Canadian before the promo - bringing them to $50 Cdn after the discount. In the old days (like a year ago), I would have jumped all over the $50 mocs. Not anymore :-) I will keep an eye on these.

I still bought plenty (too much) today.

    2. @Toronto Modern - The cerise mocs were over $100 pre-discount until just a couple days ago. I love the color, but I wasn’t going to pay that much when I just bought other colors for $15. It’s strange that the markdown schedules are different for US and Canada.

    3. Jeanne - I agree that it's very strange. I would have thought they would apply some sort of currency conversion factor - so I would expect there to be about a 35% difference in the "number" ($100 US vs $135 Canadian) but sometimes the difference is a lot bigger. I don't know whether it's deliberate or an oversight.

    4. The Perfect Fit tees have been heavily discounted on the US site but not the CDN site for weeks. It makes no sense.

    5. @Jeanne, I picked up the red mocs the exact same way. It's terrible, I have no room for shoes. I'm calling these slippers, but that doesn't solve the storage issue.

  2. I could not get URBANSTEMS to work this morning!

  3. I can’t even get into the product pages on my phone. All I want to do is give them my money and even that’s a problem LOL

  4. have to use laptop to order, no combined codes worked. but placed multiple orders anyway. I probably will go bankrupt before J crew if this insane sales continue every week...

    1. @ceces - LOL, same here. After I ordered the driving mocs, I went back and ordered 3 pairs of sneakers that I don’t need: New Balance 686 (K7773) for $23.49, Seavees Hawthorne canvas slip-ons (L3433) for $27.49 and Gola Coaster high tops (H7499) for $20.99.

    2. i ordered almost the same items as you did. the gola high top, new balance and a pair of wide leg pants. the pants are in final sale so i used my reward points for the pants only.

      Delete
    3. Wow the seavees slip ons were in my cart and increased in price. I’m contemplating the Gola high tops too but getting frustrated with this nonsense.

      Delete
    4. @Suz - I have a screenshot of the lower price and that HISUMMER applies for the Seavees if you want a copy to send to CS. They told me they'd match that price.

    5. Kel, can you email it to WEARTHIS LIKE THIS AT GMAIL DOT Com
That might inspire me to pull the trigger

    6. It’s not even showing up as eligible for the discount as of 3ish pm. Ugh

  5. I had a hard time finding something to buy that wasn’t final sale! Almost everything I was interested in was FS. I ended up removing all the FS items in my cart and got the pasta sweatshirt, liberty ruffle neck dress and Tippi with liberty collar. Don’t even need any of this... just hard to resist liberty on sale.

  6. The sale page updated as I checked it during the night. There were a few things I had been thinking about if/when they went half off, and one was still available. Ordered the pale blue point sur pointelle sweater in a medium. I remember these running very small and I hope the fit is okay.

  7. There's only one shirt I'm keeping an eye on right now but it's not included in the promo. Already did damage with the last round of sales so I'm staying away.

  8. Got my peony driving Mocs and I’m on the fence. It’s a pretty color but not great with my skin. Last week the bright cerise was $100 so I didn’t order those which, aside from the orangey red, is a better color for me.

The striped linen trouser shorts are cute but too loud. Going back,
I was up in the middle of the night and ordered black slides but forgot I had extra percentage off. Oh well.

I did wear my black pointy toe slingbacks last night and they’re not uncomfortable. I ordered the snakeskin and the leopard last week as well. Leopard may be too small in a half size down but I had to try. Maybe the different material feels looser.

  9. Got the rest of my shoes. Some likes and dislikes that have to go back.

    Dislike.
STACKED-HEEL PUMPS IN SUEDE Item K9495
    Size: 9 MEDIUM Color: BLACK
Low cut vamp cuts into my big toe. Length is long. Painful to even put on.

POINTED-TOE FLATS IN SUEDEItem K9477 Size: 9 MEDIUM Color: SUNDRENCHED PEONY
Cute In a 90s way but run wide. Color doesn’t work well with my skin tone. A size down might work but I won’t bother.

    POINTED-TOE SLIDES IN SUEDE
Item K0566 Size: 8H MEDIUM Color: BLACK
These are the bow mules that came in velvet and suede. They run really big. Cute but large. They were final sale. Whomp whomp.

Below are shoes I like, but don’t need, so I want to double check outfits and see what works.

POINTED-TOE SLINGBACK FLATS IN LEOPARD CALF HAIR
Item L4880 Size: 8H MEDIUM (I could probuse the 9 in these but the 8.5 isn’t bad)

TWISTED-KNOT PENNY SANDALS IN STRIPE WITH GLITTER HEEL
Item L0292 Size: 8H MEDIUM these are really light weight and comfortable. A little more feminine than my usual.

POINTED-TOE SLINGBACK FLATS IN FAUX SNAKESKIN Item J8209
Size: 9 MEDIUM Color: IVORY BLACK bought as a backup for my CAPTOE snakeskin slingbacks that I wear all the Time.

  10. My shoes arrived as well. Even though I know they were all very inexpensive, I'm feeling overwhelmed with "stuff" right now. The peony mocs are fine, as other noted, a bit small in my usual 9.5 but not enough to go down and due to the material and shape of the shoe they're ok and will hopefully give a little. I'll probably wear ped socks with them. The black penny sandals with silk tie are pretty and different and they'll get wear with white jeans this summer for sure. The flat leather ankle strap sandals in cerise are a love - I sized down a half size and wore them to dinner tonight with white jeans, the navy and white printed point sur ruffle sleeve top and a denim jacket. The Stella metallic snakeskin sandals are pretty - probably wouldn't have looked at them if they weren't $23. They fit in my usual size, a tad tall but will be cute for a night out here and there where I'll be sitting some of the evening. Probably don't NEED them. The black suede bow slides are great and will be a good addition to the shoe rotation.

On the non shoe side my two tone vintage straight jeans arrived and I must have gotten a bum pair because there is no two tone going on at all - there are some different seams but there is zero discernable difference in the color of the denim. I'm annoyed that I have to expend the energy to return them but they're definitely going back, the fit is ok and my usual size 29 worked but they're nothing special.

I'm traveling all next week for work so hoping that will be a good excuse to take a breather from habitual morning sale section. I had a few items in my cart this morning but I got distracted and didn't purchase and everything is sold out. Needless to say, no visit for me unless I get to the store for a return which is unlikely.

    1. Anne, the two tone vintage straight jeans I received are the same color also. I sized down one and the fit is very good on me. Disappointing that the stripe isn’t dark like the picture but I’m keeping them as they look really flattering. Only wish the distressed spot wasn’t on the front.

  11. I could have sworn the linen shift dress was $98 the other day when I put it in my bag, I held off since it was excluded from the promo. Now it's marked as $110 but eligible for the promo. I have been looking for a basic black shift dress that wasn't a knit but it seems like the pricing is going to keep jumping around.

    1. I’ve seen the Jcrew pricing game a lot & that dress was $98. At first I thought I was crazy but then realized that the prices were constantly changing. I don’t think I’ve ever seen another retailer that does this.

  12. Holy Pricing Games! The bright cerise driving mocassins are $189.50 Cdn (but eligible for the 35% off HISUMMER promo code.

I should not be offended as I really don't need anything but really

  14. Has anyone seen the Harper backpack in person? I went and ordered one while the 50% off was still working. But I'm curious if I will like it (or have another return)? I have an 20 year old leather purse/backpack that I use for day trips that I've either got to repair or replace. For $75, replace makes sense. This is for those times when I've too much to carry for a regular bag or clutch, but not enough for my larger backpack (which works as my gym bag everyday).

  15. Received sale orders and there was lots to love.

Ludlow slim fit wool blend boucle blazer. Ordered this for my son and it arrived in pristine condition. Always a little skeptical with popbacks, but this one was a definite winner.

SZ BLockprint drawstring skirt. The print is so pretty. Love the white backdrop that’s accented with blue and orange details. Will be a great skirt for warm weather and August vacation. Took my normal size and planning to pair with linen tanks and tees. This collaboration is one of my favorites at J Crew.

S’well stainless steel water bottle. I ordered orange, but a gold one arrived. I like the gold and the reviews are good, so looking forward to using it.

Linen pleated front sailor skirt in orange. The color is beautiful and great for spring and summer. I took my normal size, so fit was tts for me. Pleats are very subtle and don’t add any weight to midsection.

Tippi with flower motif. Fit is tts and the colors in the flower are really pretty, I was hoping the orange in the flower would pair well with the sailor skirt and it works. Pink matches Peyton linen pants in vivid fushcia perfectly and can be layered under the linen sheath dress in vivid fuschia. So, it’s a very versatile sweater.

Linen double breasted sleeveless sheath dress in vivid fuschia. Yes, I love this pink color and it’s a really deep shade of pink that can be paired with stripes, gingham or a print. Fit is tts and the regular hit right at my knees, so I don’t need the tall. The buttons are decorative as you don’t need to button the dress from the front. It has a zip back, and I didn’t have any issues.

Elliott heels in Liberty Thorpe floral. Another popback. Fit is tts. For $30, I can’t wait to wear them for spring and summer. Well made, very versatile and print is well done.

Penny sandals in plaid and stripe with glitter heel. Took my normal sandal size in J Crew, so fit is tts. The plaid colors are very pretty and work well with all of the above options. Can’t go wrong with stripes and these sandals are very versatile. Block heels are my only real option for heels right now because of foot surgery. They’re very comfortable and fit well.

Jacquard slides. Fit is tts and they’re a give away for less than $15. Look great with jeans. They have a funny shipping smell, so I’m going to see if it goes away.

Bow slides in stripe and Liberty floral slides. I usually size up a half size in slides, but I didn’t because of the width of the toe box. That was the right call, so took my normal shoe size. I like the stripe ones more than the Liberty floral. Will play around with the floral ones to see what works.

Leopard slingback flats. Fit is tts and the calf hair is a good quality. They’re comfortable and will be a good option for work. They were on my wishlist and happy to buy them on sale.

    1. So glad a JCA snagged those Elliot heels! I was surprised to see them pop back after so long. I picked them up last year at about $70 and was okay with the price. $30 is an incredible steal!

    2. I love your suggestions for Tippi with flower motif parings. I have the orange skirt and the pink linen dress. Did not think of combining them!

    3. Was contemplating the flower motif Tippi but was wary bc I returned my last three Tippi purchases due to sheerness. Is this one OK?

      Delete
    4. The flower Tippi is definitely not sheer. It's a cotton blend, feels very comfortable and summer-weight. I recommend it if you like the vivid colors!

  16. I got my driving mocs and the left and right are two different colors! If anybody sees a blue pair in size 8 at your stores, would you be so kind to let me know? CS says that if they're sold out online, they are all gone, but I know that is often not the case. TIA!

  17. Went to Toronto's Bloor Street store to do some returns. Store was extra 50% off sale items and 40% off purchase which is better than what's available online. Happy that I was able to leave the store empty handed. Briefly tempted by a leopard print scarf, but said no.

Nice to see the store so busy. Store's internet was not working so people were just dropping off their returns for processing later. Some of the customers were a little dubious about this. But I don't have any concerns. (Also, it's way better to drop the items off then to take the items home and come back a second day.) This is how the now closed Eaton Center's returns used to work. On the rare occasion when something seems off, you call the store or customer service and everything is fixed.

  18. Question regarding Bedford sandals Item L5240. I see that they are available only in full sizes. Appreciate sizing info if anyone has tried them.

  19. My peony shoes felt big, guess I’m in the minority. I do have a narrow foot, and the right shoe looked baggy with space on both sides of my foot. Left was fine. This style moccasin always stretches in my experience, so I’ll reevaluate another day.
Stella metallic snakeskin sandals are unwearably big. I have a big need for wearable heels as I’m coming to terms with the fact I can’t handle my high stilettos as I once could. Maybe lack of practice; I’m always in flats.
The penny blue white sandals are cute and extremely comfy. Not sure how I’ll style them, block heels are out of my comfort zone...but my comfort zone is no longer comfy so something’s gotta give!

Also got easy pants in black and navy for $22 each. These are amazing. Took my rare smaller size of 00. Would love to see work pants in more colors than the ubiquitous black and navy! I cannot buy any more black or navy now.

Surprise love was the j crew essential tee, which came labeled as mercantile. LOVE these and paid around $5 and change. Got white, yellow, baby blue. This is my favorite tee in years. Hope they wash well.

    1. Can you tighten a wee bit with the suede bow threaded through the top or is that not functional? It goes all around the opening.

      Delete
    2. Thanks o, it may or may not be functional. I just tried and didn’t want it to snap, but I did realize I really like them, so I’ll stick a half insert in the one and call it a day :)

    3. I'll keep the t's in mind. I like thinner t's for sleep and layering. But I have pretty many! I think I bought a half-dozen of the men's version for my husband to wear for sleep when they were like $2-$4.

      Delete
  20. I may not need a lot of what J. Crew has in the last rollout, because I have a lot of clothes already, but I feel like they're listening and trying now. There are a lot of fun prints, even if they're not all on the silhouettes I'd wear. There are a lot of wearable clothes, closet staples, more classic styles. And I bought 3 crossbody bags from J. Crew this year (and 4 crossbody bags from Madewell this year).

The denim continues to be too much high rise, though. I liked a pair of denim shorts, Point Sur patch pocket ones, but it has an 11" rise. I need a 9" rise. I'll continue to sit out this trend because it doesn't fit me right. I think it's great they offer a high rise, but I love me some denim shorts and they should offer a variety of rises because we're not all built the same way.

Anyway, I think they're doing a lot better now from an offerings standpoint.
