It’s the witching hour and the retailmenot code is still working! I just reordered the collection silk-twill button-up shirt in jungle print for $35.70 and added several slim stretch perfect shirts at $17.85 each. *happy dance*

Yes it was, I had several items in my cart (Cameron pants, liberty shirt, suede pumps, ) around 2am,,,, but was so tired could not even check out... they all back to reg price now..,ughh..., guess I don’t need them anyway... lol...

Picked up the two tone vintage straight jeans, white peplum button up, sleeveless chambray tie front top and cerise ankle strap sandals as well as the snakeskin stella sandals in the silver/ivory combo.

DeleteUgh, yes I ordered shoes I have no room for. The driving mocs in cobalt, the jacquard mules, and suede stacked heel pumps. At 15.29 I couldn't say not. Also got my husband a few things to try: a white linen shirt at under $10 and the denim short sleeve sweater. The sweater was $25 in the early morning, but back to $85 now. Oh, and I ordered myself a roll-neck unisex sweater for $10, but now it is back to regular price too. That one must have been a mistake, we'll see if it gets cancelled.

DeleteLOL I got those liberty wrap shoes even though I had to size up to try them. Also got the snakeskin stellas, the peony mocs, and penny sandals in stripe with glitter heel! It was a no brainer for not being final sale items!
Delete@Anne - The driving mocs are really nice IMO. I already own the brilliant sapphire and I love them. The color is beautiful. I’ve gotten so many compliments! I was concerned that the pink would get dirty, but at this price I can invest in a can of suede protector spray. I’ll be watching for markdowns on the remaining colors.

I didn’t have the patience to go through the entire sale section so I just went through my wishlist and bought whatever was eligible for the promo and not FS. Stacking the retailmenot code gets pretty close to 50% off.
ReplyDeleteScore one for the Canadians! At 10:30 on the western side of Canada I saw the 'Friday' promo while watching Kimmel. The Wallace & Barnes cotton vintage embroidered full-zip sweater was on sale plus the additional 40% off. After looking at this retro styled track jacket for weeks I quickly clicked. Added in a short sleeved rugby polo and it was only $90. This morning the track jacket is back to regular price with a cheesey 15% off. I'll never get their pricing strategies .... or lack of strategy.

Delete@pbanos the constant parade of price changing is so tiresome. I can't understand the business logic of it. The Wallace and Barnes sweater is $179 today less 15%, yesterday with the promo it was $63 for me. JCrew linen slim fit shirts are awesome, I have a few and love them.
DeleteSpent an inordinate amount of time trying to reduce the number of items in my cart. It's hard to remove cute $20 shoes and blouses (not final sale!) and I was not very successful in my efforts to be disciplined.

Looked for simple blCk/white tops/tees but didn’t find what I wanted and was tempted by a few other things (gold cashmaere sweater with fuchsia stars?!) but showed restraint...if restraint means buying I don’t know seven pairs of shoes? Only one is final sale and they’re mules so fit should be ok.
I do think some things are priced higher than previously.
I was tempted by the cashmere stars as well! So cute and such a good price...

DeleteIf anyone needs basic tees, the slim perfect fit tees are $15 plus 40% off plus the URBANSTEMS 15% - total cost $7.65 each. Definitely ordered the cobalt driving mocs, what a fabulous price!
ReplyDeleteI bought a few of these a couple weeks ago at the same price. That is a good price. But I do not like these as well as prior versions of the perfect fit tee. The sleeves are longer and the fabric is rougher. I'll keep them but am not ordering any more colors. I still had to order up a size from my usual S to get a flattering fit. The S fit, but I found the close fit to look cheaper than the M which is a bit too large.
Delete@pbanos - I ordered a few perfect fit tees last time at that price, too. They've been a long time favorite of mine. I actually prefer the current longer sleeves over the cap sleeve style short sleeves of a few years ago, but I wish they hadn't cut the torso length. I've spent my life searching for tees that are long and slim rather than short and boxy. They're so hard to find!
DeleteLadies that prefer shorter sleeves - Nordstrom Rack sells the regular short sleeve version of J Crew’s perfect fit tee. I saw both solids and stripes yesterday at the store & I believe they are online also.
DeleteJeanne, I hear you re: short & wide. I have a long torso - I need the length! I’m sure I get strange looks when I’m in store measuring up all the tees against each other to find the longest one!
I’m glad to know I’m not imagining things! I ordered a Perfect Tee back in the crazy January sales but didn’t bother to try it on as I already have several from a few years ago. Then I ordered two more last week which I did try on immediately and was surprised and disappointed by the new fit. I expected and welcomed the longer sleeve length, but was so disappointed by the shorter torso length (I’m 5’9”). I also agree with pbanos that the fit is just a bit smaller, which looks okay in the navy, but terrible in the yellow. I might keep the L as a layering tee, but size up to an XL for wearing on its own if they go down below $10 again.
Delete@shopgrrrl, I’ve only ordered a white perfect fit tee around Xmas (I have many great ones from last year) and noticed it was thinner, more sheer and felt diff than my white one that’s about a year old. Very disappointing to hear about the shorter length too. I love the thicker cotton of mine from a year go or so, I bought so many colours now I hesitate to order more.
DeleteI just ordered a white perfect fit tee two weeks ago. The one I received is thick and not sheer. It is also not short. The older one I have in white is definitely thin and sheer; I only use it as a layering piece. I guess it depends on whether you get shipped older stock or new. The stamped “label” inside the shirt is also different.

They also had one peony moc, but not in my size.
I thought the manager was Super Duper nice when she ordered me the peony in my size, to be shipped “free” to my house
BTW as of last night all colors were still listed at the “sale price” Of $120 on the website
Now I’m annoyed at the manager—Is it possible she didn’t know the Mocs would be 50% less a few hours later?!

Awww, I understand your frustration! They are still great deals! I can tell you with certainty that when I worked there we had no idea what the promos were until we got there (to the store, very early) that morning. If the manager was so nice, I bet she actually felt bad when she saw the promo this morning, if it's even in stores.

Ha. The cobalt and peony are both $91.99 in my store today with no additional percent off sale. Pricing games should not be in play for in-store merchandise. I would hope once they're marked down they're marked down for good!
Delete@Alyssa Oftentimes the price on the box is not the price it rings up for. That means even it if says 91.99 on the box it will show up the cheaper price once they are rung up during checkout.

I actually was looking for the denim shirt for me but the prices were too good to leave the items when I saw his sizes (and not mine, Oh, Shucky Darn!) But of course, I did order the sapphire driving mocs. Who could resist those cuties, and I had a reward to redeem on top of the discount.

Got 2 Cameron pants for $28 each and liberty shirt(white and pink flowers)$30, and navy suede pumps for 85... pair of wide pants with for my daughter for 24.... YAY...

Excellent customer service yesterday after I had a problem w an online order. I was trying to place an order w the “Friday” code plus educator discount and the web site wouldn’t allow me to enter either one. I placed the order and called CS and he promptly applied both without even asking for verification. Two second, cheerful process and an email summarizing the price changes a minute later.

Mommy & I both wore J Crew for her Mother's Day brunch, which I held yesterday to capture the beautiful weather. She wore an embroidered pullover, and I wore Liberty/Tretorn navy/white floral sneakers, and 'almost' matching navy/white floral tissue T-neck, and white skinnies. Plus I wore my grandmother's earrings. My husband wore JCrew as well, a collarless button-up shirt.
