"Looking to VENT" with J.Crew

This is the weekly "Looking to VENT with J.Crew" post, a place to share our not-so-stellar experiences with J.Crew.

  1. not a vent...just noticed retailmenot.com is offering 15% cash back on J Crew purchases, if anyone is shopping (search J Crew at retailmenot.com, click and shop through their link; the credit shows up about 15 days later and can be cashed out through Paypal).

  2. Was in store on yesterday to do some returns...sale was 50% off, but final, if any one is interested. Sale section looked kind of sad to me (or maybe because I just wasn't interested) but I am sure that someone will find some goodies, somewhere.

  3. I received the rainbow stripe knit dress yesterday. I love the print and the style of the dress, but it was a miss for me personally. The knit was much thinner than I'd expected...not quite sheer, but I did feel almost exposed in it. The top was cut low too, which was unexpected.

    I'm so bummed! I was very excited about this dress, but I think I'm going to have to send it back. I just don't think I'll wear it.

    1. Thanks for the review, I was considering this dress but held off ordering even when the promotion was quite good. I was afraid it would be too low, and I guess that's true. Shame, the colors are so good.

  4. Also--whatever happened to their long torso swim options? Ugh, so sad--I pretty much have to have a long torso option for swim, but they seem to have discontinued the size.

  5. Received Liberty flora belle sleeveless top. Print is very nice and fit is tts, so no need to size up as usual when I order Liberty. Matches drawstring Paloma beach pants. Madewell Karen Walker denim Killick wrap skirt. My local store was able to find my size at an Idaho store. Fit tts and a lovely skirt for warm temps. It’s a mini, but definitely wearable. Liberty tie waist shorts in Tana Lawn print. I sized up and love the length and fit. Will pair with matching shirt (deep blue floral) or denim sleeveless top. Liberty floral slides in sheperdly song print work well as a shoe option. SZ Blockprints Kitty top in neon petal leaf was a sale popback. Fit is tts and 100% cotton is lightweight and works well for warm temps. Will pair with new SZ Blockprint drawstring skirt since pattens and colors work well together. Can also pair with white linen or denim shorts. Ordered a few items from new promo: Eco ponte pant in navy since tall medium popped back and SZ BLockprint bikini top in blue/white print.

  6. I'd really like it if J Crew would start processing my order from Sunday night/Monday morning. Seriously, it still says in process and it's now Thursday. Why does shipping take so long now?

  7. i ordered the perfect winter boots on April at $30, the very second day the discount is deeper so I asked JCrew for price adjustment to $15, J crew agreed and sent me an email confirmation. When I reviewed my credit card history the priced charged was $30. I called CS and emailed CS, the answers are the same: they do not offer price adjustment on sales items. But this was before the policy change and I have email confirmation, no use, they just totally ignored the fact they already claimed they have adjusted the price for me.

    So I was very annoyed and ask for return. The item was bought on 45 days policy so it is still under that range. Again J crew revoked it and said it passed 30 day window, they will do me a favor to let me return, but only for store credit or eg-gift card.

    How can J Crew slap its own face twice I don't know. I bought too many items anyway, maybe I need a break.
