"Looking to VENT" with J.Crew

This is the weekly "Looking to VENT with J.Crew" post, a place to share our not-so-stellar experiences with J.Crew.

If you have recently experienced a frustrating situation with J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including poor experiences with purchases & orders, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  2. I guess I'd rather have the site maintenance sign up so I know it's not working and I know that they know it's not working over a website that appears to be functional but keeps giving me the 500 error message :-)

  3. Being on Central European Time I have been seeing the Be Right Back message regularly of late. But usually the site was up and running by 11 am CET/5 am EST. Not so today :-((

    1. @fleur de lys, wanted to let you know that I received the shoes we discussed the snakeskin and brocade. They’re very pretty and they fit me true to size. OT, but I’ve wanted to compliment you on your user name and keep wanting to call you Lily :) are you Dutch or French by chance? I am here in Florida until next month. I’m counting the days until I return home.

    2. @Lynn, waiting for the snakeskin heels to arrive. Thanks for complimenting me on my user name. I’m based in the Netherlands and I’ve always liked the fleur de lis symbol so that’s were the inspiration came from;-)

    3. @fleurdelys, Very pretty country NL. My husband has spent quite a lot of time in the super yacht ship building sector there. Feadship, Heesen, and Oceanco. Oh, and the kilometers of flowers tulips, daffodils etc. which are my favorite. Very beautiful country, people, and some of the best cycling there! When you're wearing Jcrew there they must be very envious:) I know when I am home in Monaco, people always stop and compliment the beautiful colors and prints I wear in Jcrew. Most of them are running around in nay and black which are ok but I love color more. Especially the brilliant cashmere colors and Cece's. I see at times you are in FLorida. Are you near me by chance? I'm over in Palm Beach till March. Maybe we could take a coffee here one day if you're in my area.

  6. Site banner says extra 50% off final sale using code BIGGERSALE. I tried to use the code and it doesn't work. Whatever, J. Crew. Fix your site!!!!

    3. If you click on details it says Jan 3- 8, 2019 for Biggersale. So looks like an error? But maybe if you cried to CS?

    4. I tried to use my Eddie Bauer credit today but their promo code does not work either, so not just the Crew.

  7. OT: Poshmark question. I saw a pair of pants I liked, draped Italian wool pant, 05846. Price was fair but I was concerned about some mis information and asked a question and also made two offers slightly below asking. No response. No counter offer. A week and a half later I decided to bite the bullet and order. Fingers crossed. I have a feeling they won't even ship and if they do I wonder why she didn't respond.
    I know from recent experience if something isn't as described Posh will allow a return or credit the buyer. Hopefully it won't be an issue!

    2. @Suz Has I went to see them on Posh. It almost looks like they were on of those one-off collection items that got sold out of Factory. The black tag sure looks like a normal tag, even though the sales tag is Factory and says one size in black. You may have found a funky 2014 pant!!
      If they really were a 2, I'd have been after them.

    3. I almost don't even think they will ship. If they do I'll be pleasantly surprised. It's weird that the seller didn't respond in any way to my comment or my offers.

  8. Thanks for this link. Very interesting. I checked out the Alex Mill website and was underwhelmed. Very basic and didn't strike me as well tailored/ high quality. Can't figure out what market they are after that isn't already well served and highly competitive.
