Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. A few new items are appearing when you search by item. A no.2 pencil skirt in gingham seersucker (I have no need for a summer pencil skirt so my point is moot but can we get a tall size?). A cute bikini in liberty magical bouquet, flamingo tee, the rainbow stripe skirt as seen on kristymayn (which I have and love), and a cute tie neck sweater in cashmere. There is a very cute Point Sur linen pull on skirt but again not available in tall sizes and at 21 inches would be indecent on me. Boo! Not much else though. Either a small rollout or some items aren’t loaded yet.

    1. The cashmere tie neck sweater is very cute, is a remake from last year. I own one and love it... perfect with navy slacks or blue or white jeans.... great buy and good quality) at least last years version)

    2. That's the only thing that caught my eye. Is it a very sheer cashmere (I can only imagine it has to be a light cashmere to be a summer item) as most of the other everyday cashmere seem to be?

    3. It’s not sheer.... it’s thiner then everyday. But I wore it I’m winter with cardigan

  2. I just got an e-mail with an early access link and a 30% promo code that doesn't appear to work on anything.

    2. I can’t get on the site at all. Ridiculous.

  3. Same. Though I didn't try the code, not much of interest to me but I tend to always find a little something eventually.

  4. the only thing of interest was the green linen pants, which were excluded from promo. Nice work, J.Crew.

  5. There’s actually a few things I’m liking. Though i it’s hard to tell because the site is acting up. Some of the items weren’t showing. The styles look familiar that is why I feel good about this roll-out. Even some of the jewelry like the necklaces are the old Crew designs.

    1. Small roll-out. Possibly the last for this Summer before Pre-fall next month?

    2. Me too. And I'm sure I'll like more in person. My two most recent (current) purchases I would not have bet I'd wind up owning and loving. I think the cotton voile skirt would look cute with my white tennis sneaks. There are quite a few things I like, but for me: linen stripe button down, button back linen shift, sleeveless ruffle wrap knit dress, apron tank top, tortoiseshell and hair bows.

  9. Oh, maybe there is hope for a tall size in the pull on skirt then!

  10. J. Crew usually does summer quite well, but this time they've missed the mark almost completely. Everything is either too casual (like beach cover up type items) or too fall-like (sweaters). I actually liked a few of the Point Sur items because they had - at least - fresher designs, but I'm seeing mixed reviews as to the quality of them.

    1. I tried the point sur dress...Point Sur faux-wrap dress in sparkle floral... (The price was higher than todays sale price) after seeing it on Kelly Ripa.It looks good on her. but that amount of poly fabric on me felt awful.thee is alot of fabric and it is def more of a fall dress anyway. long sleeves ..even though bracelet length and sheerer...terrible.
tempted to try the jumpsuit...but I think then fabric is identical ...just in navy.
The Canadian price point for point sur makes only sense when on sale..IMO.

  11. Update on my dress. I could not fix it with any of the remedies. I think the zipper is just not good quality,so had to return it.

    1. Ugh. What a bummer. Did you decide to replace the dress with another?

    2. No i did not,as i dont rtrust the quality of the next zipper

    3. That stinks but better return it now before you're,wearing it somewhere and end up with a wardrobe malfunction.

  12. I went back and tried to find something in the rollout that (1) I like; (2) is not synthetic; (3) is not excluded from promo.

So... the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

    3. Creative Director at Anthro for a decade? Nothing against Anthro, but they better not make J.Crew like Anthro. We shall see what the new hire will bring. Under her leadership, it’ll take a year till we see her influence in the women’s. Right now fall/winter buys are practically almost done or done.
Ahem, isn’t it bad to recruite people where you used to work in to your new company? 😉

    4. Okay I stalked. She has an IG account. It’s public. And her aesthetic is pretty cool. Very artsy. Landscapes, interior design, architecture, artwork, colors, textures...no picture of her or anything to do with fashion. ☺️

    7. This will be interesting to watch. I agree Natalya. IMO they peaked around 2010 or 2011 and the current anthro is a shadow of its former self.

    8. What does a CD of Anthro do? Make sure all in-house designs and third party brand designs look similar? I always thought Anthro’s strength was their third party designers and the buyers who comb through those collections and pull really great stuff. I rarely buy one of their own brands.

    9. Back in the day Anthro used to have amazing in-house brands but unfortunately most of them are gone by now. I do agree that at the moment only third party designer clothing looks OK at Anthro and not all of it.

  15. The mixed stripe linen shirt and matching skirt I saw from Kristy’s IG over at the Brookfield store, I ordered this AM, but the 30% off was not applied. So I complained through email, and said what’s the point of giving a promo if you’re not honoring it....and they took 30% off my purchase..As a one time courtesy. 😁
You guys should ask. It wouldn’t hurt.
