LOVEIT! Take 30% Off J.Crew's Final Sale

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Rose (in this post), mack (in this post), as well as StG & Irina, who shared the following update from J.Crew this morning.

J.Crew is offering customers 30% off all final sale items (no min) with promo code LOVEIT. This offer expires Thursday, August 23, 2011. The fine print includes:
*Offer valid at jcrew.com only. Offer is not valid at J.Crew retail or J.Crew Factory stores. Offer valid in US and Canada only. Offer does not apply to previous purchases or to the purchase of gift cards. 30% off discount applies to J.Crew sale and Factory sale online items only. Offer valid through Thursday, August 23, 2012, 11:59pm ET. Savings are applied at checkout with code LOVEIT. Offer not valid on phone orders. Cannot be combined with any other promotion. Limit one promotional code per order. Details of offer are subject to change.
The Final Sale section (click here to shop online) also had a pretty good update this morning. Hopefully some of you JCAs are able to get some fabulous finds!

Will you be checking out the Sale section? Are there any items you are hoping to see or to get? Does your local B&M offer an additional percent off as well?

  2. Thankfully, the items I ordered w/the free ship promo are not in stock (currently!). Now's the time to get some sale shoes I've had my eye on. Awesome free ship promo on all shoes + 30% off sale = 1 happy JCrew customer!!

  3. It's always nice to see another % off promo, not to mention a great way to start off the week. :)

I've updated the lists of Promo-priced items for women and men. (The extra 30% off makes the promo items an even better deal, too.) Both lists are posted on my blog.

  7. Quick question for you jcrew aficionadas: the hubs ordered something from the men's sale section yesterday (one day too soon). What are the chances that CS would be able/willing to apply the 30% off promo to the order? I'm way more familiar with Anthro's return policy so thought I'd go to the experts for this one ;)

    3. Thanks very much to the two of you! I ended up calling and they did give me the speech ("this is a one-time thing so don't get used to it") and the PA! Saved about $40 for 5 minutes worth of work. Thanks again :)

  19. I bought 4 items, 3 of which thankfully are not FS. I am fairly confident the burgundy pencil skirt will fit me, even though that is FS. I'm trying the pearl triple strand bracelet w/the coral flower. I'm interested to see how it looks on. Returnable if necessary, thankfully

  22. does anyone have any sizing advice for the excursion vest? I'm interested in the herringbone, but not sure if I order TTS (S) or size down for a slim fit? TIA!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I tried it on in my regular size (XS) here and it fit fine. I wouldn't want huge thick layers underneath, but a thin sweater would have been fine.

      Rose also reviewed it here.

      Delete
    2. I tried the excursion vest in my regular top/sweater/tee size and it was perfect. It will be fine with a thin/medium sweater but I probably wouldn't wear it with more than that anyway.

      Delete
    3. amh783 - If you want a slim fit, I think you should size down one. My stomach is big right now and I found that my usual S zipped up with ease, so that makes me think it's a little big. I also found it to be roomy under the arm. However, as Cate O said, you consider what type of layers you want to wear under.

      Delete
    4. thank you all for your help - I opted for the XS, since I'm between sizes and want a slim fit, so I'll let you know how I make out!

  23. Don't see anything I want. Has anyone received the Sept. catalog in the mail yet? I did get a nice call from my store last night asking me if I wanted the giraffe necklace that is on sale online and that the store would honor the price for me. That's good customer service.

  25. If anyone is on the fence about the garment-dyed shirt dress, I bought the pink one during a previous promo and love it so much that I just ordered the blue one.

Here I am wearing the pink one, size 00.

  26. I ordered a few things that I've had my eye one - the long no. 2 pencil skirt in golden burgundy, a white boatneck vintage tee, and the tippi caridgan in leopard. All things that I'm very sure of, sizing-wise.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I picked up the dot capri pant and a few items for Mexico. Other than that, many of the shoes were sold out in my size and that is probably a good thing. I'm on the fence on the giraffe necklace...it's pretty but I doubt I'll wear.

  28. OT question: Has anyone tried to handwash the linen Tippi instead of dry-cleaning?

I hate taking stuff to the cleaners, so I thought I'd try to avoid it if possible.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. This isn't the Tippi, but I've washed another linen J.Crew top myself before. I actually put it in a garment bag, threw it in the washing machine, and set it on the delicate cycle. I just laid it out flat to dry. Worked great.

  29. Cate - thanks for the heads up about Rose's review. I think she is right in that it feel very spring-y to me as well. The print so reminds me of Van Gogh's Blossoming Almond Tree Painting, which is one of my favourites of all time. I think I may order it just to see - since it is not final sale, I can always return it later. Then you call all help me style it if I like it!!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. There were many things I wanted but some just hadn't gone low enough for me yet, and others were iffy to the point that I didn't want to take a chance on final sale.

I picked up the snake-print pencil skirt (of course!) It will probably end up dropping down to like $30 at some point, but if it does, I'll just snap one up as a backup. I love it so.

I was surprised to see the Collection pencil skirt in abstract floral on promo, so I grabbed that, as it probably won't last all that long.

Neither skirt came up as final sale, so at least if they don't work out, I can return them.

    Happy Monday y'all!

  34. Disco George: I handwashed my purple linen Tippi and it looks good as new (after ironing). You will see color runoff in the water while handwashing but I didn't notice any fading or anything. Also washed the linen cable cardigan and that also looks just fine.

  35. cate et al - I actually had to call my vas to get the sale price! Oh well, it is not final sale, which means I can decide when I see it!

  37. Did not bite this time but I highly recommend the Factory Pleated Shift Dress item 91722. With the 30% off it will ring up around at $82.60. I am usually a P0 or P00 but the 00 fit nicely (loose but I like the drape). If you can stand paying $82 for a poly dress that looks like silk georgette I highly recommend it.

  38. I am waiting so patiently for the ankle stretch tootpick denim to hit sale or promo. Is anyone buying them at $125 a pop? I so want them but cannot justify $125 for casual pants.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Flower Power - The ankle stretch toothpick in the darkest wash only went on promo once around the time they were first released a year or two ago. That's the only time I recall, anyway. Some of the lighter washes in denim don't do as well and you can sometimes find them on promo. I got the sea blue (83190, sz 31 remains) for $62.99. The wash isn't as funky as it looks in the stock pic.

I think the ankle and matchsticks have become items that sell at fp, so I'm guessing no promo soon. They are worth fp for me, based on how often I've worn them. I hope you get a 20% coupon!

      Delete
    2. Do you take the same size in toothpick cords and denim as you do in the matchstick versions? I'm wondering if I should size up in the toothpick. Thanks.

    3. maryeb - I take 29 in all of the numerically sized bottoms, esp the jeans. HTH

    4. Flower Power, that is the only thing I've been wanting lately and have wondered if it is ever going to make it to sale too. There is a color I want, but I refuse to spend so much on non-designer denim.

      Delete
    5. I have not asked anyone for a coupon because I am not sure the denim is worth 100 bux for casual wear. Don't want to take a coupon when I am on the fence. Want promo plus percent off. A girl can dream. The color I wAnt is a pastel.

    6. I just bought a pair of the denim toothpick jeans (in huron wash) during the sale today (got them for $77 online). They're not a really dark denim, but they're a nice medium rinse. Are those different than the ones you're talking about in this thread?

  39. I did bite on this one, but it was only to pick up a couple of the silk/cashmere wraps. I was still contemplating so was quite happy when I checked Fabulous Florida Mommy's post and saw they were on promo today. Thank you for posting the list FFM!

They are not final sale and the price is good, especially since the prettier colors often sell out on the first markdown. Now I have one for me, one to have on hand for a gift.

  40. I keep putting things in my cart, but I've convinced myself that I really don't need any of it (true). All of the things that I really want are still full price, so I'm holding out for either a sale or a coupon.

  42. @Flower Power, I'll confess I have bought a pair of the ankle stretch toothpicks at full price. No regrets, as with the spring/summer colors they sold out in my size before they hit sale/promo.

In other news, I am trying to check out with flips flops to get free shipping, they SAY free shipping, yet it is trying to charge me for shipping. Grrrr.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I've had my eye on a few Factory items that are promotionally priced so, despite my resolve not to place a third order in the span of a week, JC got me again with this promo. I rationalized that it's a low risk order since the Factory stuff is returnable if it doesn't fit. Picked up a classic crewneck cardi in brilliant cobalt, classic crewneck cardi in vibrant flame stripe, crystal raindrop earrings, abstract tweed mini, pony hair skinny belt and a pair of socks. Also threw in from the retail site yet another Tippi sweater and a pair of the stretch bootcut cords to round out my order for free shipping. Speaking of the cords, does anyone know about the sizing? After a good deal of thought, I bit on a pair during the free shipping promo at $19.99 which have not yet arrived, and today, to make free shipping, I tossed in another pair at $13.99. My concern is that they are only available in size 24 - but in a large array of colors - and I'm hoping and praying they're not too small or I'll be stuck with two pairs! I very rarely buy pants (almost never - I'm a skirts person all the way) and the last pair I bought were the Cafe Capri in Caribbean tweed, size petite 0, which were surprisingly too big. I hope the wacky sizing applies to the cords as well or I'll be wearing one pair on each leg! I'm assuming, given the price, that they're last year's leftovers which doesn't help me gauge the degree of vanity sizing...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I'm not sure which style of cords you're wondering about but I bought a pair of bootcut cords from last season and they ran huge! They were final sale but cs accepted them as a return. The cs rep. I spoke with said she knew they ran big from her own experience with them.

The toothpick cords fit from last season was consistent with previous years.

Last week there were alot of pants popbacks in another size. It's as though they locate lost boxes in the warehouse or something.

      Delete
    2. Thanks, that's really good to know! I'm betting they're last season's since they randomly popped up in one size in lots of colors for $19.99, so if they run big I think they'll fit :)

      Delete
    3. Just an update, the first pair of cords arrived today and they're from the Holiday '11 season. The sizing is so bizarre! They fit great at my waist - or rather I should say my butt and hips because they're so low rise I had to make sure my underwear wasn't sticking out - and they're extremely baggy through the legs. Satisfied with them for the price but I understand why they were on clearance. I actually giggled when I saw that they are labeled the "favorite fit" bootcut cords - whose favorite fit of pants sit a mile below your navel and require you to literally tuck in an already skimpy thong? Seems like a fashion faux pas just waiting to happen. Also, I'm not sure if it's just the way they were folded or if it's the garment dying process, but there are white lines all over my gray cords. Gonna try steaming out the wrinkles and see if they disappear - otherwise, a call to CS will be placed. Defective is defective at any price. (Perhaps it's fortunate that the 2nd pair I ordered were off-white?)

Also received the Factory sweater dress today. Sometimes I don't know what they're thinking with these cheap sweater blends, and my verdict's still out on the dress. I love the way it fits me on top, but I cannot for the life of me wrap my brain around JC's ability to turn the so-called classic sweater dress into a shapeless mess. The last time I purchased a sweater dress, a cashmere one from two or three winters ago, they weren't yet making size XXS so I thought I'd fare better this time around, but nope, still shapeless (and this is coming from a big fan of the Jules dress). I've got a belt and some other Factory items on the way, so if it doesn't work with the belt or if there are any other Factory items I'm not happy with, back it goes.

I hesitated this past spring on a crazy low-priced coat popback and lost out, so I was thrilled. It shipped already, too--crossing my fingers it is in great shape :)

    1. Nice score, Wendy! I love the Double Cloth Metro Coat that I bought last year, and my usual size in J.Crew tops fit perfectly.

    2. I have that coat in that very colour and I love it. I was actually sad when spring came around and it was time to hang it up. I'm thinking of getting the camel colour/a neutral Metro this year.

  71. This is not related to sale but I was unsure if I should order the blythe blouse in polka dot or the oxford boy shirt in polka dot! Please tell me your opinion if you have tried either or both of the shirts!

  72. I would also love a 20% off code if anyone has an extra. I would be truly grateful!

I have had 6 orders arrive since we first heard about the codes and not one contained a coupon.

  74. Went to Valley Fair b&m tonight to do a return and they do have a sale section, just no additional % off. Very interesting to see the Tillary in the August colors already marked down there.

I was hoping to try the peter pan collar tee, but they only had one xl left :(

  76. I posted a couple of times with no luck, but if anyone could send me a coupon code, I would be extremely grateful! I just started a new job and am hoping to purchase some clothes (but don't have a paycheck yet, so I'm super-poor right now) :-/

  77. I've received 3 orders in the past week, none with a 20% off code in them. I'm expecting another big shipment tomorrow or Thursday, and if I again do not receive a code, I'm officially back to boycotting J.Crew as I did for several months last year for a very similar reason - and I even wrote to CS at the time and explained my frustrations. They ended up sending me a daily planner just because I complained, a bittersweet gesture at best, and then went right back to omitting me from the gift/promo mailing list. The love needs to go both ways, and failing to reward one's most loyal and frequent customers is simply taking our business for granted.

  78. There are many new markdowns this morning. The zebra silk top, which started at $128 a week ago, is already on final sale for $69.99.

  79. There are also a lot of new promo-priced items for the women, including the No.2 pencil in double serge wool, Edie Attaché bag in two-tone, and mini ram bangle. The updated list is on my blog.

  80. First time here :) quick question on the Jackie Pullover. I want to buy it while the sale but cant decide what size. I typically wear a Small in the Tippi. My upper body is slender but lower body - diff zip code. anyhow, Ive read that the jacki pullover runs quite a bit smaller than the Tippi --any suggestions? Tops are usually 6/8, dresses are 8...thanks

    1. Hi Lovetoshop, I think you'll take a medium in the jackie pullover. It runs REALLY small compared to the tippi. The small jackie pullover was like a sausage casing on me... not a good look. I am normally a 6 or 8 on top too, and the medium jackie pullover is just right. It is form fitting, though.

  81. How do you know if something is not returnable? Does Final Sale mean you buy it you keep it? Help!

    1. L Williamson - Prices ending in .99 are final sale. It should say FINAL SALE in red when the items is in your cart & when you check out. Final sale items have an asterisk -> * <- next to them on your invoice.

Prices in red ending in .00 are on promo are not final sale.
