J.Crew Updates Website with New Arrivals!

"Thanks!" to many of you, including life as a cat (in this post), who let us know that J.Crew had an update to its website today (click here to view online).

There are some new arrivals for men (click here) & women (click here). {wahoo!} It looks like Crewcuts (click here) has been updated, as did the J.Crew Collection (click here).
I am off to check out the new arrivals right now...

What items are you most excited about and why? Which items are you surprised (or not surprised) to see? Which items did you hope would be included? Were you expecting a bigger roll-out today? Also, did you receive the latest catalog? :)

  1. Ohhh, ikat! Love the perfect shirt and shorts.

  2. I mean really? They couldn't do ONE pencil skirt in a COLOR? The Ikat print is lovely but the skirt is in that darn faded black color that I am so over. Where is a bold summer print when you need one? Was still hoping they would do Casbah print on a skirt... alas...

  3. I like many of the pieces, but as is the case with the last rollout, I have something very similar in my closet already.

I'm intrigued by the pastille pencil skirt, that might be a buy. I notice that most of the skirts have no length measurement, as they have had in the past. If this skirt isn't that vague "hits above knee", it might end up in my cart.

I do love the leopard printed iPhone cover!

  4. Just confirmed the pastille pencil skirt is the longer length - 24".

Also, here's a better pic of the Eddie Borgo cuffs that will be coming out soon. They are available for preorder now. And I am preordering :) You can click on the picture to see it larger.

  5. The one thing that caught my eye: The shirtdress in linen from the Crespi Mill. Could be great or could be totally unflattering. Expensive too at $275.
I have the pants and skirt in a bronze metallic linen from the Crespi Mill, 2008 I believe. The fabric is really beautiful.

  6. OperaRach: I'm so with you. I was really hoping for a Casbah print pencil skirt too. They had so many beautiful, brightly-colored pencil skirts last summer that did so well...wonder why they have gone in the opposite direction this summer?

  7. UGH! I want the old J Crew with pretty bright preppy colors and prints! So disappointed!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Ooh, I hope one of my stores will have the pastille skirt - that looks very pretty. Maybe it can amend for my disappointment in the soleil skirt...

  9. I like lace shirt and ikat prints but the dress maybe too bold for me to wear. ;-)

I know this is off topic, but could anyone help me with sizing issues? Does the Perfect shirt in linen (42841) run tts? I'm a 34B cup and mostly wear 2/4 in button down shirts, but I thought I read somewhere this style runs big. TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Oh my god is it too much to ask for some shells in nice prints that I can wear to work under my cute J Crew cardis???? Enough with the tee shirts!

And to add insult to injury, the one skirt I was waiting for, the Floral long swing skirt, is $400. I sew. I cannot spend $400 on a simple skirt that I could make for $100 even splurging on expensive fabric.

    Wow, I'm cranky today. :)

  11. jcrewphd, I think the linen shirt runs large. I am 34D and I took 4 so I think you shoudl go with 2 unless you are bigger in your hips. I found it narrower in the hips, I am 36" and the 4 fits me snuggly (LOVE IT!). I am huge fun of the shirt I may buy another one just as an extra.

    ReplyDelete
  12. jcrewphd --> I'm between 2/4 for the Perfect Shirts and got a 4 in the Linen. I feel it's mainly TTS, perhaps a smidge more generous in the arms. But not so much so that I could size down to the 2. After the first (extended) wearing, I found the torso had stretched out a bit, as linen tends to do, but once I wash it, it will go back to normal.

  13. jcrewph and clicquot,

Just and interesting thought on sizing and getting help from others online: I own many perfect shirts including the linen shirt in a size 10; that is what I wear and I am a 34B!
But I am also 5'10". I wear 8's in the sleeveless tops.

  14. I'm with DaniBP-the first thing that really caught my eye was the Italian Linen Dress. I am curious about Linen that resists wrinkles. Has anyone seen this in store?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Tamara- I was super excited to see that floral swing skirt and then I saw the price.....

So here are the things that caught my eye:

LOVE the Lace Front Top (how do you ladies make your links within your text? )

Perfect Shirt in Clay Check could be interesting but need to see it IRL.'

Rachel Wrap Dress is adorable but I an NOT in a million years paying $650 for it

Soirée skirt in solid satin is cute but again expensive at $225

This is all that I could pick out this roll out. I remember the days when I just LOVED everything and had to make myself choose. Now it is a lot easier.

What I really want is cute color prints, nicely cut pieces, good quality, and something that is a little different that the current trend.

What I see now is drab colors, hanging off me pieces that I could recreate elsewhere.

There is always next time right! I just keep my fingers crossed.

  16. Derert Flower- I can't pass up the chance to saw wahoooooo on a 24" skirt!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Maybe I missed it last time but isn't the foxtrot jacket new today and one color is already on sale? Of course not the color I like but it is cute...

the new pink pants are different from the ones on net-a-porter. wonder if those are still coming?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Ok- I took a look through the new arrivals... overall I am not uber excited. But there are a few cute things like the Lace-front top. Right now, I am hoping the next catalog and stores will provide better views of the new arrivals.

On a bright note, I saw the Cece suede ballet flats in Sapphire at a store, and they are gorgeous. :)

  19. OFF TOPIC ALERT: someone tell Alexis her Versailles dress is here for $150 BIN...grab it! It's a size 10.

  21. Hello ikat perfect shirt, you will be coming home with me shortly. And I may just throw you in too, rowboat dress ...

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yes! Lisa, I love the Rowboat dress. Going to wait for a sale. :)

  23. turquoise22: Thank you so much for letting me know! :) Unfortunately it is not my size. :( If it were a size 2 through 6, even 8, I would have snatched it up and brought it to my tailor. So sad its not in my size. {cries} Isn't the dress gorgeous!?!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Incidentally, the dress already sold out. That did not last very long!

    ReplyDelete
  25. {sigh} That dress is getting to me all over again! ;) If anyone has one they would like to sell (size 2-6 preferable), please contact me (jcrewaficionada at yahoo dot com).

    ReplyDelete
  26. Underwhelmed and missing the bright print skirts as well. Sad to see the one ikat skirt was that blah black as well. My picks are the Ikat dress, Lace top, Jacinta cami in poppy, Pointelle Beach Cardi, *maybe* soiree skirt, Cece Batik Flats.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Nothing too exciting to me. Like others have said, I feel like I already have a lot of the same in my closet.

I'm holding out for the Elsa jacket in modern red to go on sale. That will probably be the end of my summer shopping at JCrew. Looking forward to fall items! (Isn't that sad. . .only the second day in June and I'm already looking forward to fall?!)

  28. I haven't gone thru the new arrivals, but there were price cuts. Notes collected at the top of this post.

  30. jcrewphd - Some measurements for the linen shirt (44291)

    Size 4 - chest = 37.75", waist = 34.75", center back length = 28.5"

    Size 6 - chest = 38.75", waist = 35.75", center back length = 28.75"

Given the different in " between the 4 and 6, you can add to figure out what your size would be. Or call cs, I guess. I would probably get my regular shirt size in this. I think it's supposed to be a looser cut.

  32. As always I like some of the new shoes. I like the embroidered souk top and the Boho embroidered top, but not at FP. I also think the linen shirt dress is cute, but wish the color wasn't so drab. Also, it looks plenty wrinkly from the back shot, so I'm doubting its wrinkle-resisting properties.

  33. desert flower--thanks for the heads up on the eddie borgo presale--unfortunately they're no longer taking orders...grrr--i can't believe they sold out already!

in other news--i don't see it online yet, but they came out with a cute strapless romper in the ikat print--i know rompers aren't everyone's cup of tea but this one looked less preschool and more mature. it's selling quite well in my nyc store--i had to preorder my size online.

  34. I'm not liking a lot, but I am interested in the lace front top (so pretty!), the indria ikat dress (especially in violet), and the cece batik ballet flats in chili pepper.

I just received the jacinta in white and I like it, but it lays a little funny at the front corners. I need to press it and see if that helps. It's a nice cool cami and cool is important here in hot SC. :) (I ordered my typical JC cami size, which is one size down from my button-up size.) I also received the shortcut sweater, which I'd already tried on at my b&m. I ordered the green and it's a much prettier green than it looks online. Now to decide whether to keep the green or trade for the in-store only (apparently) navy. Definitely size down, unless you want it to be baggy like online; that said, I didn't like it at all in my normal size - very shapeless. The sleeves are quite tight, but I expect them to loosed up as is typical JC.

  35. I like the Perfect Shirt in Wild Ikat and the Indira Ikat dress (in Violet), too. The Tangiers clutch looks interesting, but for $148? I'd still love to see it in person so I know if it's worth watching for it to hit the sale section.

  36. Loving the purple ikat shirt, shorts and dress. Also the ruby check shorts and pastille tweed skirt - if it does not have an exposed zip. The copy only says "back zip" so I sent an email off to my PS to confirm. That's all for me. There are a few cute sweaters but I have similar already in my closet and like the design of the ones I have even better so that makes me happy.

    ReplyDelete
  37. My PS is going to check the mock store to see if the pastille tweed skirt has an exposed zip so I will report back. She also said the Ikat dress is selling really fast so I ordered it. Was going to buy it anyway, may as well buy it today, it's already on backorder until mid-June so will be almost July by the time I get it.

  38. Hey everyone!

I thought this was a nice roll out, but nothing that I needed to have.

I really liked those pink pants from the magazine and I think I figured out which ones they are.

They look like the Cafe Capri in Silk Shantung
    Item #46672

I could be wrong, but they look identical.

    Hope that helps someone!

  40. I got the linen shirt and leopard print iphone case. I also got a lot of fun things on sale. :)

    http://handbagaficionado.blogspot.com/2011/05/memorial-day-shopping.html

I like the length of the linen shirt.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I also got the new Cafe Capris and I love, love, love them. I want another pair.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Johanna, I think you're right. This is interesting, on the model the little coin flap pocket and belt loops are absent, but in the regular product picture they're present. No mention in the product description of the pocket or belt loops, but they do say that the designers "pared down the details" so I assume the model picture is correct.

  43. Math Teacher,

Did you see that we are getting a J. Crew outlet at the North Charleston Tanger outlets? This may be old news, but I just noticed this week when I was up their. We are also getting a Talbots outlet.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I like the ikat dress in cinnamon spice..and that is about all that truly excites me. I was wishing for more blues and jades/greens again or the Casbah print to resurface. :(

On another note, I really liked the perfect linen shirt when I tried it on. Loved the length, as someone else mentioned and also the fact that it didn’t pop open like all the other button up shirts do on me. For those who has already worn this shirt out, how does it feel on? Does it breathe? Is it cool? I know it is linen and supposed to be “cool” but I worry I’m going to die in it in Texas. Help..:)

  45. Leader Girl, my ps told me months ago about JC factory, but I hadn't seen any signs and wondered if he was right. Glad to hear that it's true. I thought we already had a talbots outlet? Guess that shows just how much time I actually spend at the outlets. :)

  46. Pathos I like the midheel sandal just not the price. I like the Ikat dress in violet but agree I might I might not have the nerve to wear it. I also was longing for some colorful pencil skirts. I did order the Pastile pencil skirt and will report back if it ever arrives ! I must be an old soul since I love anything tweed or lace or eyelet. :)

  47. oops too many "I mights" ...got distracted.

  48. anyone else notice that the 'jewelry' heading is no longer present at the top of jcrew.com? thinking it may have been "replaced" with swim, although i don't remember this change happening in previous years. interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Thank you ladies (ajc, clicquot, Genny, and gigiofca) for the sizing input. I ended up doing a find it search for the white in sz 2. It should be coming this week and I'll report back how it fits. I did the chat with the SA over @ JCrew before but sometimes I find the measurements off with the actual item.
