New J.Crew Stores Opening Soon In NJ & CA!

A big "thanks!" to Shirls who let us know that J.Crew is opening a new store in the Cherry Hill Mall in New Jersey on Thursday, March 26th.

Also, "thanks!" to Gigiofca (check out her post) who let us know that J.Crew is opening a store in Emeryville , CA on Tuesday, March 17th. "Thanks!" to Silver-Haired JCrewer (in this post) who let us know that she "Just got my "post card" announcement of the opening, with a handwritten note from the new Store Director, PLUS my new JCrew catalog. Inside the catalog a GIFT for the Emeryville store: a $25 award card (to be used by March 31)". So chances are, if you live in the area, you might be getting something in the mail too! :)

In case you are interested, the "New J.Crew Stores {opening soon!}" and the "J.Crew Stores: Grand Opening List!" posts list additional new locations and opening dates. :)

Happy shopping! :)

  1. Philly area has a wealth of jcrews! I live about 3 miles from the downtown jcrew, but oddly enough don't go there frequently because I pretty much do not ride my bike in the winter or any kind of crappy weather (plus where would I put my purchases? In my backpack?), and parking downtown sucks. So, there have been several times where I end up driving to KOP or even Ardmore. Cherry Hill is closer than KOP I think, but you have to pay a $4 toll coming back into the city, so unless you know you're going to buy something it's not worth it (for me). I'd be interested in going to the opening, though, but I will be traveling/on vacation that week. Cherry Hill is also opening a nordstroms around the same time (?).

  2. The bridge toll will be a drag, as well, tastymoog, for Bay Area JCAs in California. Either you already live in Berkeley/Oakland and don't want to drive to the Walnut Creek store, or you are on the other side of the bridges and shop the Stanford Mall, San Jose, or San Francisco stores (4 total), with no tolls. Hmmm. Perhaps the Emeryville store will offer something extra in their collection? Obviously, they already did an extensive marketing survey and feel they can pick up new business ...

  3. Oh! I have photos of the Cherry Hill mall's new J Crew addition and the Nordstrom's - if you want them to show off!!!

  4. i think that the Emeryville location is perfect for a jcrew. i'm glad to see there's finally one there. it's a great outdoor mall. a lot of people live in the east bay. if you're in the berkeley/oakland area there can be so much traffic for the short trip across the bridge to SF and dealing with downtown can be a pain. the caldecott tunnel to/from WC can be pretty congested too. so i think they'll do well in emeryville (at least i hope so these days). also, a lot of people go to the ikea and trader joe's around there so there's a lot of business already in the area. i'm excited! :)

  6. Emeryville's a great idea! The more that's going on in Emeryville, the better - because every time I leave SF (I live up near Sac) and find stopped traffic on the other side of the bridge, I just get off at Emeryville to kill some time until it clears. And killing time at Ikea gets a little boring after awhile. :)

  7. Beth-

Is there a code? I received no email-of course I never get them until late in the day...

  8. Sproutina,
I do not see a code. I says "on select styles" I went and looked and could not really tell what items were the new 30% off things. Maybe someone else knows more or can figure out this sale?? Sorry I am of no help. I could forward you the email if you want.

  9. I know this is totally off-topic, but have any of you cruised the spring and summer clothes from Victoria's Secret? I was shocked by how many incredibly cute, extremely well-priced things they had, including lots of lightweight cashmere-blend tops, great linen pants, and all kinds of basic tees in a ton of great colors - all at good prices. Last time I looked at the Victoria's Secret catalog, everything was totally trashy, but I guess they've decided to turn the page...

  10. I'm excited about the Ev store. I live in Walnut Creek, so that is the store I usually go to, but the EV location has lots of good stores to frequent in addition to the new JC, Banana, Ann Taylor Loft, Pottery Barn, Old Navy, etc. Do new JC stores usually have any grand opening sales, promos? I did not get the email for 15% off that Gigi got, but, I am not a JC cardholder, boo.

  11. What a great roll-out for the Emeryville store--Just got my "post card" announcement of the opening, with a handwritten note from the new Store Director, PLUS my new JCrew catalog. Inside the catalog a GIFT for the Emeryville store: a $25 award card (to be used by March 31). I'm going to resist the S.F. store this weekend, splurging on the Emeryville for St. Patrick's Day! Classy launching, notwithstanding the bridge toll.

  12. Anon@10:53 AM - I thought *I* was the only one that killed time at IKEA. Comedy.

Clarifying...I received a postcard in the mail for the store opening. I haven't received any email communication from J Crew on the opening.

I have been buying very nice (classy) clothes from them for the past 3 1/2 years. Some very nice linen pants and sweaters and blouses. Really nice:)

  14. Hi Aficionadas,

I would totally head across the bridge to the Emeryville store for the grand opening, if I weren't out of town next week! I hope those who go get something special for showing up. :) I'm looking forward to hearing how it goes.

Re. the Emeryville email, I got one on March 3. I think the most relevant quote is "Mark your calendar, we have great things in store... (and a special offer coming soon)"

Interpret that as you will! :) I'll follow-up if I get any specific emails about what the "special offer" is.

  15. ^ The $25 reward card for the Emeryville store would seem to qualify . . .

  16. ^ Right, obviously I wasn't thinking. It's friday...

  17. This doesn't seem like a bright idea in the current economy - opening up new stores. But they prob made plans before things collapsed.

Am I the only one who hasn't bought anything since '08? I think my love affair might be over :(

  18. Totally ot, but: Does anyone here live in Danville, Blackhawk, San Ramon...etc? Do you love it? We are relocating from San Francisco, and want the good life.

  19. Yay Emeryville! I also like that there is a movie theater and pretty good eats there--a fun afternoon or evening. I live in Oakland/Berkeley so this will be nice for the weekend and a good complement to the WC store which is great. Also my postcard indicated there will be men's there, which WC does not have.

Just have to wait for my shopping ban to finish, but I might check it out next week as a sign of support! :)

  20. I live in SF and haven't received any emails about Emeryville. I am disappointed because I don't want to miss out on any promos.
Maybe they are punishing me because I have a shopping cart full of items but they know I waiting for a better promo. ARRGGHH....

  21. Were those people who received the discount cards JC cardholders?
