This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to take advantage of what's left (if anything) in the winter sale or to see some new Spring/ Resort arrivals in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!
Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!
Long shot, but I'm still looking for the Victoria bright pink (fuschia) blouse in size 12 or 10 as well as the Victoria dot version.ReplyDelete
I'd also like to find the deep persimmon Astrid ruffle jacket in 12 or 10.
And lastly the two tone uptown tote in pink/orange. Can you tell I love pink/orange?
Yep. That's my wish list. If anyone amazingly sees any of these items, please, please hold under Mili and post store location. Thanks, much! Off for some zzzzzzzzzzzzz.
I'll be skipping the store this weekend. I was at the Towson B&M this evening (Thursday) and was unimpressed w/merchandise. I believe they're supposed to have new items out end of next week (?). I tried on a few random items that I may order from the web using the current promo. Blah, yawn.ReplyDelete
Anyone has any opinion about the Hemp Linen Jacket?ReplyDelete
I'm looking for a Travel Trench, in the khaki color anyone know an in store price on these? (no B&M store near me)ReplyDelete
Also, to those of you who like the Joley flats, check out these shoes - they look so great!
Stanford shopping mall has quite a few travel trench left at $129.99. I see quite some 0 and 4, no 2. Didn't pay much attention to the larger size but seem to recall seeing size 8.ReplyDelete
Anon @ 2:28ReplyDelete
Thank you!! :)

I recently purchased a two-tone from a JCA, and I might be willing to part with it, but I paid quite a bit. If you REALLY have to have it, please write me an e-mail, maybe we can figure something out...
Travel trench ...ReplyDelete
I saw a bunch in navy and khaki at the rockefeller center store (nyc) last night. They were 129.99 I believe. Not sure what sizes though.
Again, plenty of Joley flats on sale for $79.99 (orange or bronzed twig) or 25% off all shoes at the Copley store in Boston, MA. Most $79.99 Joleys left are sizes 7.5 - 9.5 from what I can remember.ReplyDelete
Is the online rollout of new merch typically 1 week after the store rollout?ReplyDelete
Anon 8:08 - I think so. The manager at my B&M said they are expecting the "rest of spring" merch next Wednesday or Thursday (after that, only summer merch - "the usual skirts and flip-flops" she said, so it didn't sound like anything *too* interesting was coming), and if the online rollout is a week after that, sounds about right (the 26th). I think it's been established that the last Thursday of the month is the usual online rollout day.ReplyDelete
There is a new cami out that's pretty cute - similar in style to the Cherie, but the neckline is tied in a bow at the collarbone. It's that typical paper-thin silk and came in two colors: an cantaloupe-y orange, and a dark pewter with cream neckline. I think they were $78. Best of all - NO SIDE ZIP!
Does anyone know if there will be an extra % off the sale section this weekend? We haven't seen one in awhile!ReplyDelete
O/T Can anyone comment on the Flora slingbacks from last spring (I think)??!!ReplyDelete
Do they fit TTS, are the flowers a mixture of metallics or just gold?
Thank you Silver Lining. I am anxiously awaiting the next online rollout as I cannot get to the B&MReplyDelete
travel trench should be 129.99...i was just looking at it last night. HTH!
I LOVE the Flora slingbacks!! I purchased them last year, and I wear mine ALL the time. I think that they run a little small, though. I am typically a 7 and they were quite tight until I stretched them.
All of the top flowers are gold, but there are layers of petals underneath the gold flowers that are white, ivory, and black. One of my favorite buys from JCrew ever!
OT: I have an ivory puffer vest from this fall that desperately needs to be cleaned. The tag says to machine wash and tumble dry on low. Has anyone done this? How did the puffer hold up? I don't want it to lose any of its warmth and fluffiness. Thanks!ReplyDelete
Hi Anon 12:22ReplyDelete
I know you're looking for an Uptown tote, but I have a Carnaby Carryall in Persimmon if you are interested. You can email me @email@example.com.
I'll skip B&M until more spring merchandise is out next week.ReplyDelete
OT - just got my Jeweled Palm Necklace from ebay win. Metallic Rose color - asking $120 shipped. I have the mint and like that color better on me.
email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
there's all sorts of goodies in today's sale update... lulu's, pepper flats, spectator peeptoes (solid colors), martine cardigan, patinum tweed skirt + dress, etc...ReplyDelete
I can't get over how many of the FS shoes (and clothes) I and others saw in tjmaxx. $79.99 for the confetti bateau shirt? no thanks, jcrew, I got it at tj maxx for $9.99.
I am looking for the Crisp cotton plissé-strap dress Charcoal, XS. Please let me know if you see it in your store.ReplyDelete
I was at the store yesterday. Everything was pretty meh...I'm ready for the new roll out. Tired of looking at the same old thing...ReplyDelete
BTW - O/T I have a rectangluar link gold bracelet from the holiday. (the one that FFM loves and always wears). I am going to return it this weekend, but if someone is interested in it, I'm happy to sell.
I have the flora slingbacks from last year and love them but they definitely run small. I am an 8, always an 8 in j crew, and the size 8 flora are SNUG! I wear email anyway though. Wish I'd known to order 1/2 size up.ReplyDelete
There was a two tone uptown tote in the colors described on eBay this week - not sure if it's still there though and I'm typing this from my phone so I can't send a link.
Lulus on site in Burnt sienna & Tulip size 9H & one other size.ReplyDelete
Ok, I switched to a laptop -ReplyDelete
I'm not the seller but this is the tote you're looking for, I think.
Does anyone know how to upload your own photos on to polyvore?ReplyDelete
@tastymoog: $9.99???? Hello, I'm jealous! I LOVE that top!!!!! Good for you, what a steal!ReplyDelete
jackie from dc,ReplyDelete
I know! My jaw dropped when I found it. It is super cute and fits great! :)
it's.a.southern.thing: I have a puffer coat & vest that I have washed & dried & they turned-out great! I have actually washed the coat numerous times already & it still looks good! If you are concerned about it getting a bit "lumpy" you can always put a tennis ball in the dryer w/ it & that will help "fluff" it up! HTH!ReplyDelete
Thank you Anon@8:34!!!!ReplyDelete
I was browsing Polyvore and ran across some darling sets with these and I starting wondering how the heck I missed these last year! I also wear a 7 and have wider feet so I will need to size-up. There are tons of these on evil-bay and they are actually in line with the last sale price JCrew offered, so I won't be paying a premium 'Gottohavethese' price! I particularly like them with the crystal cardigan (shown in a set by a JCA, forgot the name). I can't wait for a sale on the sweater as it is only left in S and M and I need to do a WWFIFY. And, if and when it goes on sale and they restock in larger sizes . . .well, I have 60 days to return ;)
Stacie: Towson MD store had quite a number of Travel Trenches in Khaki.ReplyDelete
No JCrew for me this weekend. It is BR and GAP all the way:)ReplyDelete
I will be returning some items. Plan on going to GAP & BR to check out the deals.ReplyDelete
it's.a.southern.thing, I've washed my puffer vest (last season's) at least half a dozen times, and it's held up really well. It's lost a few feathers but is still quite puffy. I wash on cold, then tumble dry low with a tennis ball, by itself.ReplyDelete
MMM & Kate: Thank you so much for letting me know how your puffers held up in the washer and dryer. I didn't even think of drying it with a tennis ball, but that is a great idea! Again, thank you for being so helpful! :)ReplyDelete
Does anyone have the large oslo bag? Is the yellow a pretty color?ReplyDelete
Thanks for the opinions.
I have a sleeve of tennis balls that I use for drying down everything, including pillows and duvets. They have never seen the tennis court, of course, you wouldn't want any dirt in with your clothes. I throw all three in and it makes a bit of a racket but works like a charm.ReplyDelete
Use a mild, liquid soap in the wash and minimal fabric softener. Down mats when it is wet and you can get concentrated areas of soap or fabric softener if you go overboard.
It's true, a tennis ball in the dryer with down works like a charm. I use it for my comforter, puffer jackets, and anything else that needs a "pick me up!"ReplyDelete
Anyone know how the travel trench fits? I usually wear a petite, but they are sold out of petites online. (Are petites carried in stores?)ReplyDelete
Anyone know of a link to a review of the travel trench?
Looking for the folowing this weekend:ReplyDelete
Dusty Rose Patent Belt - Skinny & Wide in M or L
Victoria Ruffle in Navy - Size 12
(I have a size 10 if anyone wants to trade... I bought it for my sister & it was too small for her)
Spectator Peep Toes in Graphite - Size 7.5 or 8 in
LONG SHOT but I still want the Lulu's in Burnt Sienna & Metallic - Size 7.5 or 8
If you see any of these items please email me at anitasharborpoint at yahoo dot com
Does anyone know how the Marcella blouse fits? Is it tight through the chest? I want to get an XS but am unsure if it will be too tight for a 34c.ReplyDelete
So I have a quick question J Crew and the J crew outlet.....what's the diff, I know with outlets they make some stuff esp for the outlet.ReplyDelete
How is the quality compared to J Crew??
Connie: Shannon at wardrobereview.blogspot.com did a review of the Travel Trench. Just search 'travel' on her blog.ReplyDelete
Caitlin: The marcella is not too tight in the chest area. I think you'll be O.K.

I'd say the travel trench is TTS. I usually wear a 4p but when there weren't any petites I grabbed a 4. Surprisingly it fits well on me. If you are very petite the sleeves and shoulders may be a little big on you. I find the sleeve cuffs to be weird so i just roll the sleeve up. There's a picture of me wearing mine. HTH!
I'm painfully passing on visiting my San Francisco B&M this weekend, ONLY because I just got a new catalog in the mail last night, with a delightful gift inside--a $25 award card for the Emeryville store, opening March 17! It's worth the toll to check out the store and encourage a JCrew opening. [The new store director also sent a Store Opening postcard, with a handwritten personal note.] Classy rollout.ReplyDelete
i know it's a reach but i'm looking for the snow leopard cardi in medium. not the one with the ruffle though. If you're selling one (or know where i could find one) email me at :email@example.comReplyDelete
also, i have a victoria ruffle long sleve in black size 6. worn once. I washed it and hung it dry. Bottom button is cracked but there are extra replacing buttons.Willing to sell for $30.ReplyDelete
interested email be at firstname.lastname@example.org
Hi - long shot, but if anyone sees a blanched almond patent belt in a size S, will you please mention where? I neeeeed it! ;) AmandaReplyDelete
Long shot, but I'm looking for Juliet Safari Midheels in 8.5. I have the 8 to trade - just too snug! You can find me at elizabeth.hartwell @ gmail . com. Thanks!ReplyDelete
D'oh. I just cracked. I was doing soooo well not purchasing anything but then tastymoog mentioned spectator peep-toes on the update today and there just happened to be one pair left in my size in the color I've been lusting after! So hooray for my closet, boo for my credit card bill!ReplyDelete
I've barely bought anything from Jcrew B&M since they stopped offering an extra % off sale. I wonder if they will ever do that again.ReplyDelete
In my (limited) exp. the JCrew outlets aren't worth the extra drive time - which is about 45 min 'round here. I much prefer my usual B&M for 3 reasons.
1)the clothes - Most of the stock is made for the outlet & it shows. The giveaway is the noticeable diff in quality. For example, the Jackies come in slightly different colours & look like they would fade after the 1st or 2nd wash. If you're not certain about an item, look for the diamonds embroidered on the label.
2) the selection- Usually, there are plenty of the made-for-outlet items in several colours, but not a lot of variety in the items. You may find 1 or 2 unusual things from last season wedged in here or there. However, there's usually a reason; they may be all XS, have a weird fit, or are made of a sheer fabric. Basically, they didn't measure up to the B&M regular customers expectations & were shuffled off to the outlet.
3) the store floor. The store itself is rather bare- bones. There are fewer mirrors, unflattering lighting in the change rooms & no frills design choices (carpet is nicer on your feet & ankles than concrete).
That said, the staff was just as friendly & helpful as any SA I've met. Always willing to offer help.
So, you may find 1 or 2 treasures. However, I think you'll have a better exp following the tips on this blog & ordering from the sale site or using B&M specials.
Re: Outlet StoresReplyDelete
I completely agree with Heather:D!
If its not out of your way, go for it. I have made the trek which took far too long of a drive for what was available. Better to grab the deals on the site or your B&M and figure the few extra dollars you pay that way are worth it for your time and the gas you spend.
Just as Heather said; the SAs are super friendly and helpful though!
I will be in my b&m tomorrow, but mainly to try things on. Unless something reach outs and grabs me, I don't plan to purchase anything (although there are some things on my wish list).ReplyDelete
Does anyone have advice on the Palermo Sandals? I'm a widish 9-- should I order up to a 10?ReplyDelete
the favorite fit everyday chinos-- (item # item 95397)
how is the rise on these? I don't like my pants too high waisted, and i love the city fit-- but these are higher. Any reviews?
Kendra- yes order up on the palermo sandals- I found out the hard way!ReplyDelete
i have the favorite fit everyday chinos in dark fog and they do have a higher rise which can be uncomfortable for some women. they still look good though. they come right to an inch under my belly button. i think you should try 'em on before buying them. but i think you should be able to return them since they're not final sale. i prefer the city fit to the fav fit. hth! :)
Palermos definitely run small.ReplyDelete
Connie -- travel trench irl picReplyDelete
I just picked up a large order from my local UPS delivery center so I think I will be staying in. I am quite happy with all of the items I just purchased. Yipee finally a maxi dress that is long enough! Thank you thank you JCrew Grecian dress!ReplyDelete
anon 11:49 You wasted your money you could have purchased one at ON for a lot less money.ReplyDelete
Anon 5:23am ON's maxi's are not long enough for my long legged frame. I really wish they were because I could have gotten two for the price of one. ON's maxi's in a small fit those that are up to 5'5.ReplyDelete
I don't wear pants or maxis that hit above the ankle which is why I order talls. High water pants or maxi's are not my style. LOL
Last call for a grey zebra size M before he goes back to the store. Selling at cost (plus shipping, etc...) email@example.comReplyDelete
Hello all, I went to the JC Outlet north of Phoenix (Anthem) yesterday. My husband was in the big city for a conference so I dropped him off and did a shopping tour of the town.ReplyDelete
The outlet had some cute stuff. However, the size run was very limited. They had almost nothing in L or XL, or above a 10. I asked if they don't get those sizes in and the mgr said they do, they just sell out first. Interesting! But very frustrating for me. If they had my size I would have bought something.
Here is what I spotted:
1. A version of the chiffon rose shirt. Black with a small pink rose, or white with a black rose. The rose is smaller but still has the same look as the original (though no writing).
2. Several t-shirts that have the beading and/or ruffles and/or flowers at the neckline.
3. A huge table of cardis that had rhinestone buttons with floral chiffon accents on each side of the neck. Also had cardis with the ruffle front.
4. A whole rack of last year's Wendy skirt, though the wash seemed to be darker. It was like a second run.
5. Tons of graphic tees.
Pretty much everything was a percentage off or on promo.
Right next door was the new BR outlet and the Gap Outlet. Both were hopping busy. I guess those 30% coupons were bringing people in. I know that was one reason I made the extra 1/2 hour drive after dropping my husband off!
Where do any of you wear maxi dresses? To me it seems overkill for work, and even just for running around town. I'd love to hear how people make them work on a daily basis...ReplyDelete
The Old Navy Maxi Dresses are available in Tall and Petite sizes on their website.ReplyDelete
I wore one the other day to meet with friends and run errands...I really like them a lot, and they work well for the casual Florida environment.
NYC JCAs- I went to the Madison JC (44th St) and they were having a shoe sale! 25% off of full priced sandals, also applicable with the student/teacher discount :). So I got these, Paige metallic braided flat sandals item 12051. So excited!ReplyDelete
Thanks FFM for the information regarding talls being available online in the Maxi's. I only go to their site during xmas for children basics. Running off to the site now!ReplyDelete
I received a JCrew welcome email last week... (probably from email sharing, because I used my secondary email address for the 10% off card.)ReplyDelete
Free Shipping on $150+
Expires Thursday, March 19th
I checked out the ON site for Maxi's they only had two styles in tall in clerance section. The faded and one FMM reviewed. I would never wear the faded and the striped one was only available in pink. No thanks I made a better choice and the material along with style of the Grecian is better. Its not too casual or dressy. Well worth the 98 bucks imo. Thanks for the info and concern.ReplyDelete
I wear maxi dresses over the weekend and casual events in the evening. I have a very busy social calendar with all types of functions. Not to mention family functions and biweekly brunch dates.ReplyDelete
Everyones life and work situation is different.
Anon @8:05: Sorry to hear that the ON maxi's were gone in Tall when you checked the site...I know a lot of the merchandise from Gap/BR/ON sold quickly because of the Friends and Family event. The Grecian is really beautiful...congratulations on getting it! Which color did you choose?ReplyDelete
Went to the Madison Ave regular J.Crew to check out the shoes (thanks limegreen_lover!). Didn't get any shoes but did end up with the Keegan trench. I read up on a lot of the JCAs reviews and was curious that most found it too boxy...I guess I must be a bit boxy myself! :) Anyway, got it in the coal color and I heart it.ReplyDelete
FFM I chose the brown JC Maxi. They were sold out of the green in a small. I really wanted the blue and white ON Maxi you looked so great in. Thanks a million.ReplyDelete
Update on shoes- as I mentioned on 3/14 I bought the sandals style 12051. Well I tried them on today, and they just felt horribly uncomfortable and not worth the $70. They are being returned ASAP- I think I'm going to buy a Lady Day Coat online, but return date is 7/12??ReplyDelete
My wife has been getting the green screen error trying to surf around the J. Crew website. I finally determined that I had to turn off privacy control in my symantec client firewall in order to be able to see things on the site. It appears that the site is wanting web browser information. Personally, I don't think that's something J. Crew needs. I can surf any other retail site with privacy control on. Just thought I'd let you know what I found and maybe it will help someone or get J. Crew to make some changes. I found this blog by googling the error my wife was getting, so it seemed like a good place to post the informantion.ReplyDelete
