This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to take advantage of the "secret sales" or to see some new arrivals in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic! Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Towson MD (in this post) shared that the Towson, MD J.Crew was still offering 50% off sale items. (Maybe there are still some stores that are carrying 50% off as well!) Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!
Jcrew is offering free shipping on orders over $125!! The code is SHIP125 and expires on 11/16 at 11:59pm ET.
ReplyDeleteAt my B&M yesterday (South Coast Plaza), they had a rack full of the merino rose cardis (ivory, navy and a couple in plum) for $59.99.
OT - If you spend over $150 at Ann Taylor on full price merchandise, you get $50 off plus free shipping.
Also OT, I received the Starry Midnight Peacoat from Martin and Osa and it's so pretty! It has tiny sparkles on it that make it different than your everyday peacoat. I highly recommend it!
I won't visit a store this weekend, but I was at the Valleyfair (Santa Clara, CA) store Wednesday. There was no extra percentage off but all the signs no longer indicated they were final sale. That's a good sign, I suppose. :)
ReplyDeleteThe sale items were pretty picked over, but I remember there was lots of orange and yellow. Nothing that isn't really a basic item, that people would be searching for. Like other stores, suiting is 25% off and the Lea cardigan and cambridge cables were on promotion.
They had the Clara cardigan there, which I'd barely noticed online before going to the store. I tried it on - I didn't like it on me because it was too puffy. :) It adds lots of volume to your shoulders and upper arms.
I can't remember if J.Crew has sold mittens in the past? I love them so ... they're great for keeping your hands super warm! But it seems like no retailer really has them this year ... has anyone seen any or will this come out in the next winter roll out?
Land's End has free shipping no limit. It has been going on all week and another code came out today.
ReplyDeleteI probably won't go this weekend...still nothing out that I absolutely HAVE to have, but I am looking forward to the December catalog. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like there are some new markdowns on .com - the taffeta A-line skirt is down to $80, the red Francie skirt is $59.99, floppy-flower Astrid is $160, chiffon cardigan is $95.00 and the bow-neck cardigan is $59.50.
ReplyDeleteAnyone own the simone jacket? (Navy)-it kind of looks like it could be a cape style which is what I've been looking for. I'm not sure how it'll fit though (I'm usually 0/XS). Is this pretty IRL?
ReplyDeleteOops I forgot to add I'm trying to decide between Simone and boucle penny tweed (in black).
ReplyDeleteBoy, that floppy flower Astrid must be really bad if it is on sale already...the flower (in real life) is really droopy:(
ReplyDeleteLove the Penny in Black, although I found the fit a bit 'off' the shoulders are a bit tight, but then the rest of the coat is slightly big on me. I went a size up as I am in between sizes.
ReplyDeleteTwiga
Twiga,
ReplyDeleteI think that sizing is an issue on all their boucle jackets...same thing last year with the Mandy. (website actully said to size up) and the C. F. Astrid boucle also is smaller in the shoulders and bust (but not the body) Go figure! But this is something I have found with their boucle jackets...
I was in the store yesterday. I got a very cute holiday top for a party. Also picked up some lounge wear (they had all the holiday sleep stuff out).
ReplyDeleteSaw lots of outerwear, new cardigans, a handful of dresses. Everything was 'pretty' but nothing got me super excited.
There was no additional off the sale. It was the same stuff that had been on sale forever!
I tried on the boucle Penny at the BM, it runs huge and odd ~ almost like a swing jacket, tight in shoulders, but not in torso ~ odd and unexpected, only black at bm.
ReplyDeleteNo, I won't be visiting JCrew....sounds like nothing new and/or exciting is out....will wait and go in a couple of weeks and see if Dec. arrivals are out:)
ReplyDeleteI went to the Georgetown store on Tuesday and they no longer had 50% off sale items. I did notice a few sweaters/cardigans that I have not seen online though. And also that they were selling some loungewear items, which I thought were online only.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone runs across the Becca Ballet Flat in Ivory Black Dot size 6.5, please let me know.
ReplyDeletekat3805@gmail.com
Thanks!
^That's exciting! Does it include sale (non-promo) items?
ReplyDeleteThat's so exciting! Anyone know of similar promotions in the DC area?
ReplyDelete20% off store wide is great. I hope the store I shop at does that. Thanks for sharing the news.
ReplyDeleteAnon at 6:49 am - I am also a size 0 or xs and ordered the Simone jacket. I thought the shoulders were TTS but the bottom half ran big. Too boxy IMO so I ended up returning it.
ReplyDeletei might stop by... i'm kinda itching for some funky knee socks. :)
ReplyDeletewe'll see how much $$ i have left after i visit anthropologie.
I have the simone as well, it's a really nice jacket I think. The cut is very similar to the san telmos in the swinginess. Since it's a softer fabric, though, I think it's a little more flattering. It also looks really cute when you put your hands in your pockets, very flattering for some reason. The wool is a bit itchy, but such is life I guess! The button is really nice as well, not too flashy, just the right amount of sparkle. I got it for half off, though, and I'm not sure I would pay $150 for it as it's more of a sweater than a jacket, unless you live in a warmer climate. It's very cute though!
ReplyDeleteThe navy Simone is not a cape. The bottom does tend to open up though. I found it very lightweight and fairly warm. It's a boiled wool jacket and it's not lined. I liked it as it's a bit conservative but the button on the top gives it a little more style. It's TTS and works better with pants.
ReplyDeleteThe Penny is nice too, but it runs big. I don't think Simone & Penny are apple-to-apple. I'll probably get the Penny in black as well as it's now on sale. I think this jacket will work either pants or skirts.

does anyone have info on the boston/cambridge/northshore stores?

ReplyDeleteI bought a Taffeta A-line skirt in warm champagne for $69.99 at the San Francisco shopping center today.
ReplyDeleteI actually wanted to get it in warm taupe but I changed my mind about the color when I tried them on.
The store also has some cashmere femme sweaters on sale, sketchbook roses Belle skirts, ballet flats (lilah tweed, driving mocs), penelope mary janes and other styles in various sizes (7, 7H, 8, 8H, 9)
Oh no-I posted the skirt price wrong: the Taffeta A-line skirt is $59.99 in stores (or at least at the downtown San Francisco store)
ReplyDeleteIf anyone sees Metallic Lulu peep toes on sale, please, let me know! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteamy: 20% off storewide at Friendship. Sweaters are also 20% off. Student/teacher discount applies.
ReplyDelete^YES! Thanks, Cleo!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Towson, MD store no longer has 50% off. There is no additional % off the sale items, as a matter of fact. I stopped in tonight to take a peek. Lots of patent flats in silver and black, but still too pricey for me without the extra off.
ReplyDeleteThe hammered silk tanks made their way to the sale section, as did the city fit luxe trouser cords in various colors. I contemplated buying them in chocolate, but at 59.99, I passed (I would have to have them altered). I did get a graphic tee for 29.99 and 3 of the patent belts, which were on sale for 29.99 each. I tried on the Lili cardigan, which looked awful on me. I don't like 3/4 sleeves, for sure! There were a few new items on the floor, but not a whole lot. I'm done at J Crew, at least for a couple of weeks!
Has anyone seen the Isabella heels in their B&M? I know they're catalog/website only, but I'm hoping a store ended up with some by mistake (or through returns).
ReplyDeleteamy: forgot to add that the SA said the sale lasts until Sunday.
ReplyDeleteHello everyone! Thanks for sharing what is happening at your local stores- much appreciated!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI visited three J.Crew stores yesterday- Friday- (Canton, South Windsor, Farmington) and they all did *not* have an additional percent off. I asked each one if they knew when they would have the next % off, but each place explained that they do not know until that morning, when J.Crew corporate sends an email.
Each store did not have too much in terms of offerings. Also, all the items had the same price as last week (even though last week there was an additional 50% off being offered).
I have hope that in the following weeks, the sales at stores will be better. :)
I went to the Short Pump store in Richmond last night. I wound up getting a silver metallic belt for $12something. It was in the sale section with the other metallic belts for $19., but it was the only one and the SA said it had probably been misplaced. She still gave me the reduction and seemed to give me more than 20% off. I also bought a puffer jacket for $70something. I'm not sure $88 plus 20% is the best price I can get on that, so I will probably wait and return if the price goes down. I also thought I could apply my student discount on top of the 20% off but the girl I had said you can't, I guess b/c the 20% off was storewide.
ReplyDeleteI just called the Georgetown store and they said that their whole store is also 20% off! :)
ReplyDeleteI called Pentagon City as well...the SA there told me that they had a lot of promotions but couldn't really say them over the phone?!? Strange.
^oh yeah..it's a secret..keep the sales a secret..that makes a lot of sense doesn't it? wtf-i think u were being blown off
ReplyDeleteI might not be able to go this weekend but I stopped by the Costa Mesa store on Thursday to pick up a couple of cashmere turtlenecks...can't have too many of those, right?
ReplyDeleteBefore I forget, the men's section is back at the Costa Mesa store. Less women's stuff which I am not thrilled about but it is good to have some men's selection for holiday shopping. :)
Happy weekend!!
^No, I totally agree, she was completely blowing me off...I thought it was pretty rude, actually. Georgetown got my business today instead!
ReplyDeleteHas anyone been to the Bellevue store this week? I'm wondering if they have any good promos or new items
ReplyDeleteJust got back from the Bridgewater, NJ JCrew where I tried on the Penny boucle in black. I think others who have visited this blog are right. It's tight at the top and like a mistaken swing jacket at the bottom. I decided to pass on it. There is good news, however. They still have 50% off their fall sale. I picked up the droopy flower boucle for $160 minus 50%. I also got the tissue sequin stripe henley for $15. They have several plum and pale grey hammered tanks for 50% off of $49.99. It's all final sale. In addition to this, they have 20% off winter scarves and hats. It definitely seems like it's better to shop at the B & M these days.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone's store have the bow cardigan on sale? I have changed my mind about it now that the caramel color came out and really want it. ;) It was still $110 at the Georgetown store today (albeit with 20% off the entire store).
ReplyDeleteShannon - I just got back from the Bellevue Square store. They still have 50% off sale items. They added some new sale items but the sizes were very picked over. However, I don't think they had everything out on the floor. I picked up two Merino rose cardigan for $59.99 minus 50% & 15% student discount. Its nice that they still honor the student discount!
ReplyDeleteAmy: The bow cardigan is cute, isn't it? :) and so soft. I tried it on and thought it ran large (unless it supposed to be loose fitting). What did you think? I haven't seen the camel colored one.
ReplyDeleteDid you happen to notice any new coats at Georgetown? I would really like to see to the Greta and Renee coats in person.
Thanks Linda! Sounds like it's worth a peek!
ReplyDeletest,
ReplyDeleteDid they have a size 10 in the droopy flower Astrid? Does that store ship? I live overseas so just wondering if it is worth a call. You are right is is better to shop at the stores...I almost paid $160 online but now I refuse to! esp. with the awful flower...I just like the color.
Hi Cleo!
ReplyDeleteYes, the bow cardi is SO soft, and it's absolutely beautiful in the caramel color! :) Would love to hear what you think of it when you see it.
I am on a 'coat ban' for myself, so I've made a concerted effort to ignore the J Crew coats in both the catalogs and B&Ms...so I can't really tell you if there are new coats there. ;) They did have *a lot* of coats, though, including one in a beautiful dark pink color (I looked away quickly, haha).
Sorry couldn't be of more help!
Oh, and I thought the cardi ran true to size to slightly large, depending how you want it to fit!
ReplyDeletest
ReplyDeleteanonymous: They didn't have a size 10. Only size 8 and under. However, the jacket does run a bit big, so I did get a smaller size than my usual. I don't know if they ship. Also, it's final sale.
