J.Crew Home Page: Free Shipping Offer

"Thanks!" to GigiofCA (in this post), as well as Anon at 8:24AM and Heather (in this post), who let us know that J.Crew's homepage has an offer for free shipping using promo code FREESHIP on purchases of $175+. (Not sure when this expires.)

I am happy to see that the minimum for this code is not $195, like the last one (click here). ;) Maybe J.Crew will consider lowering the minimum to $100 (or even better- $50, $75, or no minimum) for the holidays. :)

  1. So glad to see that they continue to offer Free Shipping codes, and I agree with Alexis that I hope to see codes with lower minimums come out for the holidays.

  2. Ditto to what Alexis and FFM said. Hopefully there will be codes with no minimum for the holidays! :)

  3. I don't know, it's still stretching it a bit.

  4. Jeff,

I agree with you about the stretching it bit!

Ha ha....I actually agree with you for once! :)

I don't plan on doing much holiday shopping with JCrew...if at all...the website is still too ify...I had problems just this morning and a problem with a package delivery last week. I am going to be just too busy to deal with them...

  6. I recently bought a coat from the red phone inside a B&M and the CS rep said that I wasn't entitled to free shipping because I was buying a sale item, even if I was calling from a red phone. I told her that I've purchased sale items from red phones before and have always been given free shipping, so she finally relented, but said it was a one time courtesy. Has anyone else had this issue with free shipping on sale items using the red phones?

  7. bluenana - the policy on red phone orders has changed. You only get shipping if the item is full priced.

  8. But, apparently like all J.Crew policies, it isn't consistently applied. Last month I received free shipping on a Red Phone order for a sale item--without even asking for it. But, they sent me khaki shorts instead of the chocolate tartine I actually ordered, so it wasn't such a great deal after all.

  9. Hexicon,

How did you get the wrong item?

What was JCrew's reason for sending you shorts instead of a sweater?

They sent me a man's sweater once instead of a women's sweater. Another time they sent me a bikini top instead of a bottom.

I have never had these issues with Old Navy and Gap.

  10. Hi everyone. I have a question regarding "red phone orders." If the store is offering 50% off sale items, does that mean that if I place an order on the red phone that the 50% off will be applied to my sale items? thanks!

  11. Anonymous/Lissa - There is no automatic anything, imo. There are a lot of new reps on the phones. If you go into the store & order from the red phone, tell the CS about the store promo. It is best, as someone said in this thread or another to have an SA start your phone call and give their store & associate number. Then you can proceed with your order, usually without a problem. 12. thanks gigiofca - wish me luck tomorrow. 50% off sale items sounds almost to good to be true, I'll have to see for myself.

  13. Free shipping? Come on people, spend $10 and realize you're ordering something from a business, not your friend

  14. I also just received two completely wrong items from J.Crew :( They refused to ship me the correct items but instead asked me to re-order the correct items on my own expense first, which I found unreasonable. I originally put the order on a gift card and since I do not have a credit card, I asked the customer representative to put the correct items on hold for me until they credit my gift card back and I was also reassured the inventories were quite high which I should have no worries about. It unfortunately turned out to be false as one of the items is no longer available, after just one day! It was originally a Thanksgiving gift for a dear friend :( Although they offered me a $50 gift card, that is not some gift cards could make up for.

I do understand J.Crew probably have a thousand shipments every day and it was really my bad luck to have received the wrong items. What truly frustrates me is J.Crew's failure to correct the problem. The customer should not be held responsible for their mistake (to buy the correct items again on their own expense first!).

    :( Anyone has similar experience?
