"Thanks!" to Gina who let us know that there is a price-listing glitch on the website- so as to not get our hopes up too much (which I actually did for a second!) ;)
In the J.Crew Collection Flash slide show (click here to view), there is a gorgeous suit jacket shown. When you roll over the image, the items' name (Super 120s pinstripe two-button jacket) and price ($129.99) are listed. When you click on the jacket's link, it takes you to the item page (click here) with the jacket's price listed at $240.00- which is a bit confusing (well for me anyways). ;)
J.Crew explained to Gina that this jacket was on final sale for $129.99 in the Heather Carbon at one point (and now is sold out)- which is why the $129.99 price was in the Collection Flash piece. Hopefully, J.Crew can quickly fix this minor hiccup on the website, to prevent any confusion concerning the price. :)
Incidentally, I think that suit jacket looks great with that outfit. I normally don't wear suit jackets without the matching suit pants or skirt. However, this jacket- with the sequin tank and chino- looks absolutely fabulous!!! :)
What are your thoughts on this jacket (do you like/ dislike; would you buy/ not buy)? Do you like the way the jacket is styled (in the image above) with the tank and chino? What additional ways could this jacket be worn (besides the traditional suit pants and skirt)?
The similar one button 120s prinstripe jacket was sold at 39.99 last year. Probably it will come down the same price range. It is a waiting game.
ReplyDeleteI really like the whole look, overall. :)
ReplyDeleteThat website glitch has been in place for a while - at least 3 months. I called them about it and they said they would not honor the reduced price even though it was their error. Now they have fixed it so that only the heather carbon color shows up, but since they sold out it's back to the same glitchy state.
ReplyDeleteI have the 3-button jacket and love it, it was marked down to $179 briefly but now is back to full price. I wear it with the matching ludlow pants, which are also nice but unlined.
If the jacket is marked down to $39.99 again, I am willing to bet that the matching pants/skirt are OOS. I buy my suiting in sets, so I'd probably pull the trigger before then.

ReplyDeleteSorry for OT:
ReplyDeleteSome items are marked down outside of Final Sales section. Some suits are 20-30% off and Solid Silk Elizabeth halter (not old version) is 30% off ($98.00->$68.00). Addtional 20% off are only valid for items which price ends with 99 cents, so these items are probably not eligible for EXTRA20 code. But new version of Elizabeth halter are finally marked down in every color!
Sorry, let me correct my previous post: Solid Elizabeth $88.00->$68.00 23% off.
ReplyDeleteRe Elizabeth halters - I have one in ivory and got lots of compliment wearing it. But I can't help but wonder if they are lowering the prices in anticipation of that very pretty new halter in the catalogue?
ReplyDeletei'm a fan of mixing suit jackets with other pieces non-set related. i think this outfit looks wonderfully put together, without looking like it's trying too hard. well done, j.crew!
ReplyDeleteThe look is cute, but not original...it was popular with many at my Jr.High and High School in the mid to late 80's. :)
ReplyDeletePrices shown should be honored, even if due to a *glitch*.
I respectfully disagree about this look having been done by Florida tweens in the 80's. I think you're confusing it with the over-sized blazer with the sleeves pushed up and the silly Boy George hat and leggings look. This is nothing like that, IMO. :)
ReplyDeleteDifferent proportions, same concept. :)
